What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: - To try and limit OOC as much as possible, this was a problem in the last server I was in. To act out as a different person with a backstory, you control this person, speak and act like them. What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is when you stop roleplaying and act like yourself or incorporate your own knowledge into your character. Instead of acting as your character you act as how you would act in that situation, or make a choice that your character would not have done. What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is where you try and make your character as powerful as possible even if this means acting out of character to achieve this. Another example is creating a character with no weaknesses and just playing on their strengths. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! What’s your character called?: - Baal Blackjaw What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Human (Northener) What sex are they?: - Male How old are they?: - 29 Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family: - Born and raised in the rugged north, Baal had a tough upbringing. Distant parents and no siblings meant he had much time to himself. During this alone time Baal liked to play with various scraps he could find, and loved making things, often a weapon. As he grew up he continued to build but also taught himself how to use a bow, throw knives, and generally operate weaponry (much of these he stole or made himself). At the age of 18 he decided he wanted to live in a city. So for the next few years he went from city to city, working for various people and learning many trades, sometimes getting involved in darker ones. At the age of 22 Baal moved to Abresi and bought a modest house with very expensive gear inside for him to experiment with. Inevitably an accident happened one day, and a large explosion occurred blowing his left arm and jaw off. His wounds were attended to and he miraculously survived. However, once he regained consciousness he went straight back to his house, and locked himself inside for 5 days straight. He managed to create a prosthetic arm and jaw out of a strong but light wood. This wood was also a very dark colour, giving him the nickname 'Blackjaw'. Since the accident Baal has spent far more time being 'enjoying life' than having an honest profession. What are they like (personality)?: - In a very good mood most of the time, even in inappropriate times. Slightly insane, if a sword were held to his throat he would probably smile. For example when he got accidentally caught in an orc raid, he merely walked around the town singing. Can be selfish but generally has a good moral code. What are their ambitions?: - Baal has no overall ambitions he mainly wants to enjoy his life. But he does have some small goals, like finding the Sword of Respiren. (Secretly Baal would not mind building a city, he loves making small scale things but large scale projects also interest him as he is very creative). Do they have any special skills?: - Baal is stealthy and experienced with a sword and bow What are their weaknesses?: - Sometimes his mild insanity gets the better of him and he can put his life in danger or not act rationally in a serious situation. He enjoys fighting so will often help someone on a quest or adventure if he has 'fun'. Can often be unreliable due to his unstable mind. What do they look like?: - Dressed mostly in black with arrows slung around his shoulder. He wears an ancient mask partly to hide his face, and partly for protection. Under the mask there is a shaven head with pale skin and mismatched eyes, a large scar runs along the lower part of his face and a black wooden jaw below that. Anything else you want to say about them?: - Though Baal is largely driven by finding adventures to enjoy, he also knows when a cause is just and when it is evil.
