Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: - Yes, I'm a long time roleplayer. I started back in Ultima Online and have on played roleplay servers for other major MMO's like EverQuest I and II, and many others. I also have a substantial background in DnD from 2nd through 4th edition, both as a player and a DM.
Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: - Not for Minecraft. I'm actually fairly new to the game, this is my first application to be whitelisted. But, I'm interested in seeing Minecraft's great world building capabilities and use them play out a character in a well crafted world.
Have you applied to this server before?(Please link past applications): - No. This is my first application to this (or any) server.
How did you hear about us?: - I just got a new laptop and I was looking online for a laptop-friendly game that I could play. I had played Minecraft on my friend's laptop once or twice and thought it would be a good fit. I knew that multiplayer servers existed, so I searched for one that was roleplay friendly, which is the type of game I like to play! I found a link to Lord of the Craft on Minecraft100.com
What do you think the server will be like? - Well, I've seen some pictures and the trailer, and also peeked around as a wandering soul, so I can say I expect the server will be beautifully made and hopefully large, with lots of depth. I hope to find other players out in the world playing out their character's lives so that I can interact with them. I expect there to be some mystery and some adventure to be had!
Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes.
What’s your favorite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: - Simply put, I like the rule that you must stay in character at all times. I've seen many other "roleplay" communities in other games claim that they roleplay, but no one really does. I think if the norm is to stay in character, that trend is easily carried forward, but once people start breaking character all the time, it is very hard for anyone to roleplay.

What is roleplaying?: - Roleplay is a style of gameplay where the player embodies the role and identity of the person they are playing in the game world. They act according that that character's knowledge and desires, as well as interact with other players with the intent of playing out scenes and developing storylines.
What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is using out of character knowledge to justify an in-game character's actions. For example, if someone says out of character that they are AFK, I shouldn't use that opportunity for my character to steal something from them when I know they are not there to interact with me.
What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is disregarding the roleplay nature of a character for the sake of fast advancement. Powergaming sacrifices any realism or social etiquette to get a character to maximum power as fast as possible.
In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. What’s your character called?: - Dhalrun, although he tends to go by Dhal.
What race are they (and sub-race)?: - Human.
What sex are they?: - Male.
How old are they?: - 22.
Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Dhalrun was born into the Kingdom of Renatus by his mother, an herbalist, and his father who was a city guard. He was a bright child and well behaved, often spending his time reading and playing with wooden weapons. He wanted more than anything to grow up and be a knight. His father allowed him to join the militia at a fairly young age, but as he was not very strong yet he joined the Rangers and helped them scout and hunt for game. As a young adult he was assigned to a watchtower far from home, so he left to do his duty.
The watchtower overlooked a valley that often had Undead activity. While scouting the valley one day, his patrol came across a cavern uncovered by a recent rockslide. As they scouted inside the lost tomb, Dhalrun found an old parchment with runes scribed across it. He foolishly picked it up and read the runes, which plunged the tomb into darkness and filled it with the terrible screams of his dying friends. He managed to flee the tomb before the trembling collapsed it again, and he made his way, injured and alone, back to the watchtower.
When he reported in, the captain of the guard believed his story, but late that night he found Dhalrun had kept the evil scroll and was reading it in secret. For that he arrested him and charged him with the death of his friends because of his actions. To his horror, Dhalrun was then branded a traitor and exiled from the Kingdom for practicing dark magics, even though he was only trying to understand what happened to his friends.
Alone and on the run, Dhalrun traveled north into the mountains to make a living for himself as a hunter, never with the thought of his friend's death, and those terrible images he saw in the tomb, far from his mind.
What are they like (personality)?: - Dhalrun has a good heart, and wants to help people and make friends, but he also has grown distrustful since his banishment and tends to keep away from people. He is very keen and eager to learn and see new things, but doesn't necessarily want to cut all ties and drift through the world. He often needs to feel he is right in an argument, but also very quickly lets things go and makes amends. He has a sore spot on issues of injustice, but has not lost his faith in the world.
What are their ambitions?: - Dhalrun wants to find his place in the world. He knows he can never return home, and is devastated at the loss of what his life might have been, but he realizes he is on a new path and wants to find the best way to use his talents of scouting and hunting to build himself a new life. Deep down, he also has a burning desire to learn more of the forbidden knowledge he came across in the tomb, and that desire scares him some.
Do they have any special skills?: - He has a knack for survival and he is good at convincing people to see his way. He isn't the strongest with the sword but he makes up for it with impressive skills with his bow.
What are their weaknesses?: - Dhalrun tends to not be the most reliable person when it comes to seeing something through to the end. He is more likely to cut his losses and run to fight another day. He doesn't always listen to other's experience and has to find things out for himself. He also is a sucker for a pretty face.
Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - He has short brownish-black hair and dark blue eyes with an average build that seems lanky when stretched over his tall frame. He has fair skin with a black brand on his right cheek that marks him as an exile.
Anything else you want to say about them?: - Dhalrun doesn't have any magical powers, but he has a keen interest in the arcane and may develop some depending on how much he gets wrapped up in his new obsession.
