  1. Thank you, I take it this becomes available upon having your character application accepted?
  2. How do I find out the current in-game date for myself? Sorry about this just one lone question it's just my question thread vanished or I would have used that to ask instead.
  3. Thank you for your responses, it must have taken some time. Many things are much clearer now. I get the feeling that while I am using the wiki and the human roleplay forum for research of the lore, I might be missing some resources, such as how you find out the current in-game date. Ugh, I'm so sorry my response isn't that good I have some really bad brain fog right now. I'll come back in a bit and write a better response in a few hours.
  4. Hi, I'd like to apologise in advance if my post comes across as incredibly nooby. But human lore has got me at my wit's end. I'm still in the process of designing a character. Obviously I don't want any part of my character to interfere with lore, I want it to integrate with lore. However every time I try to develop my character I'm left with doubts. "What if that's not the way they handle things in Abresi?" "What if I think I'm right about this thing and then my application gets denied because I've got the lore all wrong?" And so-on... Oh and the politics. I don't understand real-life politics no matter how hard I try, do I stand a chance here? Reading the human history section of the wiki just gives me a splitting headache. So I'm going to try to come up with as concise questions as I can in hopes of better understanding the lore, but please if you think this is way over my head then tell me. I understand some people just aren't cut out for complex RPs like this one. If you think I'm one of these people, be honest. 1) What is the current in-game year? 2) Is my character allowed to have been raised on a very small farm that is not physically on the current map? If not, what sorts of origins are allowed for the character of a first-time player (location-wise)? 3) I'm starting to understand what is expected of residents in Abresi, but how are visitors treated by locals and authorities (for example, a visitor seeking the whereabouts of a missing relative)? How about visiting traders or farmers with surplus produce, do they need a permit to sell their stuff? 4) How long ago did New Abresi open? 5) Where do Kingdom of Oren and Herendul meet? Is there a no-man's land in-between or any kind of border? 6) Can anyone offer a summary of the relationships of these two kingdoms? I can only find scattered hints here and there in the human roleplay forum, but nothing concrete and I don't want to make any assumptions before submitting my character application. 7) Anything else you think I should know, gauging from my lack of understanding in any particular areas you think might be important?
  5. Hello I really want to have a go at this RP but I'm taking my time getting to know the lore and getting my character application just right (been at it for 2 days now, not even near finished). So I figured in the mean time why not post an introduction? I'm 24, live in the UK and enjoy Minecraft (duh). I'm not actually all that familiar with roleplaying. I've joined in a few forum roleplays but none of them lasted. So this is new for me. Playing as a human character I want to get myself as familiar as possible with human lore in particular (though I am still familiarizing myself with all lore in general). I'm actually finding it hard to figure out where is where and what is what, even flying around as a wandering spirit it's hard to tell where one kingdom ends and another begins. Still I think I'll figure it out eventually. I do like The Lord of The Rings, which I assume this roleplay's fantasy aspects are loosely based around, but I haven't read the books and don't actually have the films. It's not something I know that much about, but when I saw the movies I did think they were pretty good movies. I'm quite picky about what I like. I'm hoping to get started and join in roleplaying soon, so going to work a bit more on my character now, do a bit of 'homework' and read up in the wiki and the human roleplay section. See you around hopefully.
  6. I see, that makes things a lot more clear thanks. How do you do it in-game?
  7. Hi, I have been looking around the world and the forum, but I'm confused by this thing people keep mentioning called an emote. At first I thought it was a type of in-game emoticon but after reading through some guides I realise it must be something more than that. Without knowing what it actually is though these guides are quite confusing and I'm trying to decipher what it is just from reading. I don't want to make any assumptions on what it is though I assume it's an in-game feature, that's all I can tell so far, that it's a feature. Since there's no explanation for it I take it it's just assumed we should already know what it is and I don't think that's very fair. Tried searching on the forums for it but it just said that there are no results for the word "emote". I know this isn't true as I've seen the word used so the search isn't reliable. Can anyone please explain it to a pre-application newbie?
  8. Are there any rules on naming characters? I'm terrible at picking names, naming is always the hardest part for me. Aside from keeping names lore-friendly am I free to use what names I like? For humans is any traditional human name appropriate?
