In-Character Information What’s your character called?: Ljornostr (Lee-or-NOS-tor) What race are they (and sub-race)?: Dwarf (Forest Dwarf) What sex are they?: Male How old are they?: 79 Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): Ljornostr was born into a modest, but respectable Forest Dwarf family in the Treebeard Clan, not long after the dissolution of the Dwarven Empire. Like his ancestors and kin, Ljornostr became a promising outdoors-man from a very young age. However, he never felt fully accepted in the dwarven community, even among his own folk. As a child, he seemed to stubborn and honest for his own good, and his solitary manner did not sit well in the tight-knit Treebeard village he was born into. He had once heard tales from a traveling bard from Aegis of the fabled rangers of the fallen Kingdom of Renatus. The story inspired him, against his family wishes, to travel beyond the borders of the clan and see the natural beauty of remote lands. Once Ljornostor came of age to leave his clan, he sought out a lone Wood Elf hermit named Ursandiel in the depths of the woods bordering the elvish lands. He understood that he was much too green to venture into the perilous world, and heard tales of an old Elf druid who had retired to a lone cabin many long years ago. Finding the fabled maester proved a difficult task that put his family's skills to the test. Befriending the aging Elf proved even more complicated. In the end, after nearly a decade of arduous apprenticeship, Ljornostr mastered the art of swordplay and archery, learned the arcane arts of herbal remedies and perfected his knowledge of the local flora and fauna. One winter night, Ljornostr returned to Ursandiel's cabin to find the residence completely empty and no sign of a struggle. The dwarf looked for the old maester for two weeks, and found no sign of him despite his best tracking efforts. Ljornostr refused to mourn; he vowed to find his maester alive wherever he had gone. He soon decided to return to the civilized world to put his decades of training to use. He would explore the distant lands he heard of as a child. He would maybe make coin with his unique skills passed down through years of family and apprenticeship. With luck, he would learn of his old maester's fate. What are they like (personality)?: Ljornostr is a somewhat quiet, but humble and kind to hapless strangers. Although he is a Forest Dwarf, he makes little distinctions between one race and another, and is open to treating all with equal respect. He is quick to answer a call for help where he feels his skills can be of use, with almost complete disregard of any danger. Confident in his abilities, Ljornostr is always looking for an opportunity to learn, explore and hone his huntsman skills. His speech is polite and sophisticated, thanks to his maester's training and tutelage. What are their ambitions?: Ljornostr seeks to learn more of the vast world around him. He always finds fascination in new kinds of plants and animals, and is always looking to see what good can come out of them. He currently seeks to find a niche in the world as a hunter, farmer or shopkeep and put his years of training to good use. He hasn't forgotten the sudden disappearance of his maester, nor will he easily forgive anyone who may have brought him ill. Do they have any special skills?: From dwarven youth, Ljornostr's was a skilled hunter, forager and farmed. Under the tutelage of maester he learned swordplay, woodworking, leatherworking and basic herbal medicine. He has a limited understanding of the arcane secrets in old and musty tomes, but makes an effort to learn tales and lore of the lands he visits. What are their weaknesses?: Ljornostr can sometimes be too kind and honest for his own good. While he is tries his best to be hospitable and humble, he has found himself often fooled and mocked. He often takes action based on what he feels is right, rather than what may be considered “smart”. Being one of the more longer-lived races, he is more careful and slow in his crafts; many have mistaken his slowness and perfectionist attitude for incompetence. Lastly, Ljornostr is not very intellectual, and has little understanding of what smallfolk call “magic” or “technology”. Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: Ljornostr is tall among dwarves, standing a little above 4 feet tall (the irony of a tall dwarf is not lost on him). He has a short black beard, no more impressive than a human would. His modestly long black hair reaches to the bottom of his neck. He is of muscular build. He dresses in a dark leather vest and a dark green tunic that is flexible, but tough enough to protect him from nature's hazards. He carries a sharp elven gladius named Spike, has a darkwood shortbow slumped on his back and finally a small handaxe for utility and as back-up weapon. Anything else you want to say about them?: Ljornostr is based on an NPC character of the same named I created two years ago for my fourth D&D campaign “Carnival at Armanoth”. There will very likely be certain evolutions to the character as I come to understand more about the lore of the world. Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin: This is a skin template I have for now. I still need to edit it to be more appropriate to match my character description. I am still learning how skins in Minecraft work, but it shouldn't take me long.
