  1. Okay, let me say this now, this is not meant to offend the staff in any way, shape or form. If any of you see it as such, I shall apologize beforehand.

Now, onto the main topic. As most of you know, a warclaim was written yesterday by none other than our very own Knox213. Now, the Alrasians declined this warclaim and the staff backed them up. However, shortly after this decision was made, we Carrions and Strelts were kicked off of our land. I want it back.

Why give it back? Because, as Rhia stated, no special treatment was to be given to Alras in claiming that land. Yet, just the other day, I was told by patu97, an Alrasian, that shiftnative had "given" that land to Alras. Now, if this won't be considered special treatment, then I don't know what does on this server.

Also, the only thing up there that showed that Alras wanted that land would be a few wooden blocks with signs that said this. Sorry buddy, but signs don't mean you get the land anymore. It's fair game until someone puts down a town pillar. Now, there was a town pillar up there, however, it was placed by someone known as kwaka- something. (Sorry buddy, I forgot your MC name) He saw our town, and our town pillar, and said nothing in RP or OOC that asked for us to leave and give him the land back, meaning that the true owner of the land was fine with us being there.

If this still isn't enough for us to get our land back, well then, there's another Raid War in store for Athera.

  2. ((You were told multiple times that we were coming, and y'all claimed it while we were. When I confronted you guys, swords were drawn and was told to screw off. My character is a proud one IC, and in return raided and plans to attack to route you guys out. Not to mention the reason we are going for the land in the first place is because of it's strategic location. I believe there is plenty of IC reasoning to go into this as it is the proper time to attack. Why wait and build stuff if we are going to attack anyway?))

(( tbh, this is more than enough to warclaim. You guys draw swords on his house and men and then expect zero retaliation? ))

  3. Herion would step forth after Ilitharath has finished speaking. He would turn and face the crowd that has gathered before smiling, and beginning his speech.

"Karin'ayla to all, lliran. My name is Herion Miruel and I stand here before you all to convince you why I could be the Okarir'tir."

He would close his eyes for a moment, recollecting the small speech he had prepared.

"For the past few elven months, I have had the pleasure of fighting alongside the brave and honorable Sillumir of our Blessed Haelun'or. It is their courage and dedication to their job which keeps us safe. I have seen the horrors of battle, when you see friends and strangers alike fall to the quick swing of an axe, or a slash from a sword. In my opinion, I believe that our new Okarir'tir should be a battle hardened man." He would look at Ilitharath for a few short moments before continuing his speech.

"While my competitor has also seen true battle, there is one thing he forgot to mention within his speech, and that is the plague that is known as the mali'ata! They roam this land, calling others to their life of impurity, away from the safe hold that is Blessed Haelun'or. Now, it has come to my attention that there is an infamous impure known as Relgard Sintel that roams these lands. I shall end my speech with a promise. If I were to become the Okarir'tir, I swear to you that within an elven week, Relgard's head shall be piked outside." He would be looking at the members in the crowd now, a blazing fury in his eyes, showing that he means the truth. He resumes his posture, nods to the crowd, and then steps down. He passes Ilitharath, a grin on his face.

    Picked Nation: Kingdom of Ireland

Nation Leader’s Name/Traits: Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair, Good Commander, but greedy
    Type of Government: Monarchy
    Nation’s Chief Focus: Military

Ruaidri smiles yet again as he reads the letter from the King of Scots. He knows exactly what the King means to do, and pens a quick reply.

Your grace, King Alistair of Scotland, I shall accept this alliance and your 2,000 men. They shall be put to good use in the destruction of the tyrannical kingdom of England.

Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland.

A letter was received from a commander that he had sent south. The letter states that the English ships had pulled out of shore and are returning to England. Ruaidri rejoices in this piece of information, and writes a reply ordering the commander to group up with the 2,000 men he had sent down south, and take 1,000 of them and to head up north to Belfast to meet up with the Scottish men. After writing these two letters, Ruaidri calls for messengers, and sends them off.

He then travels to the docks, the Polish ships have arrived, and the Polish men with them. He greets them, and gives them orders to travel to Belfast to regroup with the Scots and incoming Irish. His own ships were nearly complete, a few more days and they would be ready to sail. Ruaidri continues onto the siege workshop, where most of the ballistae and catapults are complete. Another week, and they should all be finished.

Ruaidri then calls for a council with his remaining military commanders. They discuss numbers and troop movements.

1500 Scottish infantry, along with 450 archers and 50 cavalry are up north in Belfast.

4,000 Irishmen, a combination of swords and spears and longbows and crossbows are on their way to Belfast.

Over 3,000 peasants remain up north farming their harvest for the coming winter.

20 Polish ships with Polish soldiers are on their way north.

2,000 Irishmen, mostly missile troops were sent up north to ambush the English, they would soon run into the English forces.

A possibility of 5 Russian warships headed towards Ireland to aid them.

Ruaidri sends for his fastest messenger and orders that he be given the fastest horse in the stables. He sends the messenger off with the orders to tell the ambushing Irishmen to fall back to Belfast, where they would then regroup with the Scots and Irishmen, and attack the English.

    -=-

Days pass, and all seems calm, when a messenger runs into castle dining hall bearing two letter2. Ruaidri opens it, and reads. The letter would state that the 2,000 Irish scouts have found the English camps deserted. The English have fallen back to their own country to fight the Danes who have taken London. Smiling, Ruaidri writes two more letters. The Irish ships are to be armed with the just finished ballistae, and supplied with flammable bolt. The Irish and Polish ships are then to sail for Dumbarton, to meet up with the Scots.

    Letter to King of Denmark:

It is within my understanding that England is your enemy as well as mine. I request that you enter my alliance, we will then work together towards removing the plague that is England. Ireland will not forget your kindness towards her should you accept this alliance. I have already sent my men your way to aid in your fight.

Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland.

    Army being sent to Scotland:

1500 Scottish infantry, along with 450 archers and 50 cavalry are to return to Scotland. The princess will remain here and the wedding will take place soon.

1000 Irish swords, 1000 spears, 500 crossbows, and 500 longbows shall sail to Scotland.

15 Polish ships accompanied by Polish soldiers will sail as well along with 5 Irish ships, equipped with ballistae and filled with Irish swords and longbowmen.

EDIT: Forgot to add something I really needed to add this post. I've added it now and all is good. :)

    Picked Nation: Kingdom of Ireland

Nation Leader’s Name/Traits: Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair, Good Commander, but greedy

Ruaidri wakes up, and goes to the dining hall to eat a small breakfast. While eating, a messenger bows before him, and presents him with a letter bearing the Polish royal seal. He breaks the wax, and begins to read. Smiling, he takes the letter, places it on the table, and continues eating. For the first time since the English sent their ships, Ruaidri has smiled. However, he would remain sleepless for many nights, as the French have yet to state their position in this matter.

After eating, Ruaidri takes a small walk through Kilkenny, talking to peasants and soldiers, men and women and children alike. He donates generously to the poor, though he hated doing so, and listens to the concerns of the peasants of the town. The people would/should feel as if Ruaidri truly does care for them. He orders for five minutes of silence to the peasants who died to the raiding in the south. Before all the peasants, Ruaidri shares a few words.

"To the men, to the women, to the children to died to the English tyrant's men. Rest in peace, my brothers and sisters, and rest knowing that you shall be avenged! Rest.........................knowing that you died as free men."

After concluding his small speech, Ruaidri orders for a council to be held with his military commanders. A few moments later, they all gather in the castle's war room, and begin discussing their next plans.

((For actual convo: read the spoiler. No meta :) ))

"Your grace, for too long have the English been raiding the south. Let us move swiftly and with force to take them out!

"Nay! If we are to leave, who will guard Kilkenny? From what I've heard, the English have plenty more than us, and I'm fairly certain they'll be coming from the north as well, to squeeze us down to submission. Nay, I will not risk losing Kilkenny just yet. However, I do see your point. The English must believe that they can burn and pillage our villages because we have yet to oppose them. That shall change. One of you will take 2,000 men, half infantry, half longbowmen. You will march north, and ambush the English forces while they sleep. Do not run into a head on conflict with them, lest you will die. This is a mere, hit-and-run shall we call it?" The commanders nod in understanding, and one of them raises their hand to volunteer to lead this force. Ruaidri accepts him, and tells him to ready the men and to gather the mercenaries as well, that they are to depart at mid-day. The commander nods, rises, and after bowing he leaves the room.

"Another two of you will take 2,000 men each, and lead them south. Prepare the local farmers as well, get them ready to fight at any time. That would leave," Ruaidri thinks for a moment, "2,000 here to defend, that's not enough. Even with these walls, we will need men. You two commanders will take 3,000 men between you, and head south. Hold the south, form basic defenses, but I want the English held back. The Polish might arrive soon, and even the French. Whatever. You two are to gather your 3,000 men and leave for the south to meet up with the others at mid-day." The two commanders nod, rise, bow and then leave to assemble the men.

Ruaidri once again visits the docks, the ships are getting there, they will soon be able to sail. After visiting the docks, Ruaidri heads to the siege workshop, where the engineers continue working hard. He frowns, disappointed with the progress being made. He hands each of the engineers a pouch for 150 gold pieces, making them work harder and faster.

Tired from the day's work, Ruaidri returns to his chambers, where he begins writing a letter to Russia, similar to one he wrote to Poland.

Surely, you have heard of what the English are doing to the Irish. I shall request the same of you that I request of the Polish, to send men to Ireland, particularly to the Irish sea. I plan to push them out into the sea, where our combined might will be able to take them out. I assure you, your kindness and generosity shall not be forgotten. Ireland will repay you for your help.

Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland.

Ruaidri then writes another letter to the Polish:

Dear friend, I cannot thank you enough for accepting to aid me. However, I have a quick change in plans. Instead of going for London, it would be best if you could move your ships into the Irish sea. I have begun moving many troops south in an effort to push them out. If you could Help me take them out on sea, I would be able to focus on clearing and checking the north for the English menace.
Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland.

After writing the two letters, Ruaidri calls for two messengers, both of whom come running to him at his call. He hands them the two letters, both sealed with wax and stamped with the seal of Ireland. He tells them the destination of the letters, and sends them off. He watches the messengers leave his chambers, before sitting back in his chair, and sleeping.

It was 5 PM, Ruaidri was finishing up court in his throne room. This was when a peasant from a local farming village comes up to him and explains to him that the people are starving. Reluctantly, he writes a letter to his military captain positioned on the Irish border, and requests that 2,000 of the militia men be sent back to help harvest crops. After bowing and showing his gratitude, the peasant leaves.

Ruaidri went up to his chamber, tired and hungry. He ordered a servant to bring some meat and mead to his chambers. He then begins to write a letter to the French and to the Polish.

    Letter to the French:

Your Grace, King Louis of France. It is within my understanding that the English are your enemy as well as mine. I shall require your help if I am to completely eradicate the English menace from this Earth. I request that you send a few of your troops, not enough to leave France unprotected, but enough to distract the English and draw their attention for a few weeks.

Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland.

    Letter to the Polish:

Your Grace, King Wladyslaw of Poland, I request that you work with me in eradicating the threat that is the English. For too long have they claimed to be the protectors of Christendom, when the Almighty himself speaks to us that the English are naught but hypocrites! I request that you send a few of your men, not to attack the English head on, but to distract them by attacking their farming villages to catch the eye of the tyrant King Henry.

Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland.

Having written those two letters, Ruaidri calls for his most loyal messengers, and sends the two off, hopefully the Almighty would grant them safe passage.

After receiving no word of English movement from the borders, Ruaidri writes yet another letter, this one to his military captain on the East border of Ireland. The letter contains orders to move back the army to the capital city of Kilkenny, but not before alerting the local farmers and peasants to keep an eye out for English ships and soldiers, and to tell them to be ready to fight at any moment. The peasants should also harvest as much as they can, and burn their harvest should the English arrive and fight.

A lone, bloody peasant runs up to the king, pushing and shoving through his body guard. He is held down, when Ruaidri lifts his hand, allowing the peasant to speak his last words before being executed. The peasant tells his story, how the south of Ireland and her ports were in ruin. Frowning, he writes a letter, this one to the same captain. This letter, however, orders the captain to move 3/4 of his forces to the South, where they will then set up a defensive perimeter on the main road and on surrounding roads. The final quarter of the men will continue their journey to Kilkenny, where they will be stationed with the rest of his army.

The next day, Ruaidri goes to the docks, where he had ordered 5 war galleys to be built. The ships are no where near half way complete. Disappointed, Ruaidri travels to the siege workshop, where engineers are hard at work, building ballistae and catapults furiously. Production is taking much longer than originally believed, and Ruaidri grows stressful with each passing day.

Returning to his chambers, Ruaidri kneels on his bed, and prays to his God, asking him for help in defeating the savage Englishmen.

    Heading south:

2,000 infantrymen (combined swords, spears and pikes)

1,000 missile units (combined longbows and crossbows)

    Heading to Kilkenny:

2,000 infantrymen (combined swords, spears and pikes)

1,500 missile units (combined longbows and crossbows)

((Whoops, didnt see your attack, Martin and England has not attacked me yet, they've merely begun landing.))

Ruaidri paces around his chambers, the English warships blockading the Irish sea. Angered, he shouts aloud to himself, "How did they find out?! I'll kill the one who told them!"

He soon calms himself down, and goes to check on the catapults and ballistae that were being made. However, as he leaves his castle, he runs into a mob of Irish men. After questioning, it is confirmed that the free men of Ireland will fight, and die if needed, as free men with their king. Ruaidri smiles, and puts his hand on a man's shoulder. "Aye, I'd sooner die than serve the bloody English. Get your volunteers ready, and take them to the coast. You'll meet my captain there, and he will get you outfitted."

On that day, 3,000 militia men were sent to the coast, while the rest stayed back, and are helping the engineers build the ballistae.

Word is sent to Ruaidri about the progress of his ships, a few are complete, over 10 remain. Ruaidri nods and smiles happily. The English ships would soon meet a watery grave. He then goes to the tavern, guarded by his royal guard. There, he calls up every mercenary captain in the tavern, and buys many English and Scottish mercenaries. He receives word from his captains along the border, and they say that the men are hungry. Ruaidri immediately orders for many crates of wheat and meat to make their way to the men. Most of them would die, it was his duty to give them at least one last meal as free men.

Army now and being recruited ((Okay, I've edited my army, please do tell me if this is still bad)):

    3,000 militia men

4,500 infantry (combo of swords and spears)

3,500 missiles (combo of bows and crossbows)

    10 war galleys

    1,250 hired swords

    1,250 hired long bows

Ruaidri frowns as he reads the unsigned letter. He writes a new one in its stead.

"My fellow Irishmen, I do not wish to fully commit to the English. For too long have they taken our islands, our land! Stay patient, my people, and begin raising armies to fight back the power of the English. If all goes according to plan, these islands will be ours. I will require each of you lords, both great and small, to recruit between up to 1,000 more men per castle. The English will fall.

Signed, Your true Irish King, Ruaidri Ua Conchobair."

Multiple copies of this letter are written and sent to Irish lords all throughout the land, all of them sealed with the royal sign of Ireland.

After writing that letter, he then moves on to read the trade request from The Consulate of Sicilia and Greece. He replies with a letter of acceptance.

He then orders for the building of 20 ballistae and 10 catapults. ((If this is absurd, tell me.))

After issuing that recruitment order, Ruaidri then travels to the docks, where 20 brand new war galleys float peacefully anchored. He smiles and pays the shipwrights generously for their hard work, and gives them the hard task of making 40 more war galleys.

((Alright Art, my bad. Pretty new to FRP so, if I make a mistake here and there, please do correct me. Also, I kinda do want to know how you found out I was rebelling.... :/))

Army at this point (After all the appropriate changes)):

    - 4,500 infantry
    - 3,500 missile
    - 2,000 cavalry

    - 15 war galleys

Ruaidri grumbles as he receives the English monarch's letter. He weighs his options, thinking for many hours before writing a reply to the English.

"Your grace, you're too kind to us. We accept your offer, and shall work with and for the English monarch.

Signed, King Ruaidri Ua Conchobair of Ireland."

Ruaidri signs the letter, and sends for a messenger. He hands the letter to the messenger, and sends him off.

    -=-

A messenger brings letters to Ruaidri, letters from his six lords. They say they are doing well, and that they have plenty of men guarding their castle. He writes back to his lords, telling them of his new alliance with the English. The letter would request that the lords also raise the banner of the English along with the banner of the noble house of Ireland, as a sign of the friendship and allegiance between the two.

Recruitment is completed, more men are added to Ireland's mighty army. Ruaidri walks through the town, encouraging men to come fight, and that they will receive a full payment upon signing up. This causes many multitudes of men to hurry to the nearest recruitment center, where they are recruited, outfitted and sent to the training grounds.

    -=-

Word reaches Ruaidri, who was calmly sleeping in his chambers, about the troop movements in other parts of Europe. Frowning, he  shrugs it off, and orders for 20 war galleys to be made to defend the island's coast.

    -=-

Upon waking up, Ruaidri takes a fresh piece of parchment and a quill, and begins to write a letter. The letter would be asking the English, the Russians, and the Swedes for a trade agreement.

    Army at this point:

    - 2,500 swords

    - 3,350 cavalry

    - 2,500 spears

    - 750 longbows

    - 1,000 crossbows

    - 2 war galleys

    Being recruited:

    - 250 slingers

    - 20 war galleys ((Will take a long time))

    - 150 swords

    - 250 javelins
