But If I could make up my own all encompassing rule for players it would be "Don't be a jackass." What is roleplaying?: - Inserting yourself into the role of another being in another time and place, very similar to acting. All roleplayers in a roleplaying environment take part in a collaborative storytelling effort as overseen by the GM/DM/Moderators/Admins. What’s metagaming?: - Using the knowledge that you yourself as a player in reality have in the context of the roleplaying in order to gain an unfair advantage. Your character does not necessarily know everything that you do and you must therefore keep your in-character knowledge within a realistic and fair context.. What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is essentially acting like you are superior to everyone else in some way which leads to you gaining an unfair advantage. This can occur in combat when someone refuses to be hit, die, or be injured when appropriate. It can also occur in the creation of powerful items, the use of magical powers, or granting youself some sort of elevated status at character creation that should really be earned or approved by the GM. Gregor was born on a farm in the borderlands of the perilous northern regions in the far outskirts of New Abresi. His family made their living farming pigs and selling them in the market of New Abresi for a humble wage which was mostly spent by his abusive father, Hardaz, on drinking and gambling. Gregor took to wrestling with the pigs that they raised to express his negative emotions for his father. He grew in strength as he began to seek out heavy things to lift for the pure challenge of it. He was homeschooled to a very limited extent by his mother atleast to the point of being able to write his name and read at a somewhat pitiful level.
Around the time Gregor was coming of age, his father stopped carrying his weight around the farm and receeded more and more into the bottle. One day, his father went out on his way to town with the wagon of pigs to trade for more booze. The cart was raided by a roving tribe of Bohra freedom-fighters who were seeking to set free their porky cousins from an imminent demise, killing Hardaz. Gregor took the reigns on the farm work, both him and his mother relieved that the old codger was finally dead. When his mother passed away, Gregor sold the farm and took off as a free-laborer, roaming the lands in search of odd-jobs in which he could put his talents and hobbies to use. (mostly lumber and stonework). What are they like (personality)?: - He is a simple man, taking joy in the pleasures of physical exertion and getting piss-drunk. He has befriended a lot of dwarves, he finds them to be likeminded to himself in most cases. He has something of a moral spectrum due to his troubled past, but doesn't concern himself much with pursuing righteousness or enlightenment. He believes in the things that he can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch and not much else. He is inadvertently a gorgeous specimen of man, although he doesn't really realise it. He is prone to strike sexy poses and flex his muscles without realizing he is doing it. He is somewhat innocent in regards to the opposite sex, having not had much contact with them throughout most of his life on the farm. What are their ambitions?: - To pick things up and put them down, to find work that he enjoys, to escape his father's legacy. Do they have any special skills?: - Lifting heavy things (Physical strength), Wrestling, cast-iron stomach (he can hold his liquor) What are their weaknesses?: - Simple-minded, slightly alcoholic, quick to anger Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - Gregor is a mostly stonefaced man with chiseled features and a physique representative of hard labor on a farm. His skin is of a light copper hue from being in the sun all day, his eyes are a deep green, and his hair is a rusty dark brown. His face is blanketed in a rugged beard and he enjoys displaying his chest hair for all to see. He has assorted scars on his body from wresting matches with pigs and men alike, as well as the faded scars from his father's leather strap. Anything else you want to say about them?: -
Gregor lives in the shadow of his father, fighting not to become the man that his father was. He drinks to escape from the emotional pain and works desperately to try to find something that will make him happy and keep himself occupied. When he is drunk he is jolly and a bit goofy.
