  1. It was when he was sorting through his plushies and happened to come upon a Moon Rabbit that he breaks down, clutching the white bunny plush tightly as tears fell. He remembered once....when he thought the tiny female elf was just like that, a snowy white rabbit. With big eyes and soft voice, he remembered so deeply that want to protect her from the dangers he knew were outside the Grove. And then he saw it...one day that little rabbit grew teeth...she had claws...and she knew how to bite and rip and tear.

His world changed that day and he began to look at it anew, he asked questions and sought more and more the snowy woman who changed his views without even trying. He listened to her soothing voice speak such advice, almost harsh compared to the motherly like demeanor and almost too gentle touch. She taught him far more then she ever realized...her lessons...her words...held closer to his heart then she might have expected...

"You didn't know but you were my teacher...in many lessons that I needed to grow. We were both passionate in our own way...and I've never been indifferent to what you said to me. Never...but I wish I understood sooner, that I might have learned far more. Perhaps...when we're together again...I can sit and learn more.."

  2. It's me again~ Sorry to be harping on this but it feels like you keep somehow missing key questions, you say you addressed them but the fact that it's being asked again means your clarification wasn't clear.

Greensight no does not allow you to manipulate song however it does allow you to see otherwise unseen flora and fauna. Same as Communion you're able to 'hear' all the plantlife around you, this is why in dead zones Druids get a little crazy. Does that not stand to reason, that in a cave system, you would be able to 'hear' the plantlife of roots, moss, ect all around you even if you cannot see it? A single layer of rock does not work like lead against electronics, that's not how Druidism works.
We're just asking for an explanation on if we can hear it, why do we need to see it? Growth states that line of sight is not needed, but an extra emote is because it's not in sight. This contradicts your 'I cant grow it if I cant see it' sort of deal, if that makes sense?

He asked about Barkskin alongside myself, we both would like some clarification. I understand the reasoning behind partly of why you would need two druids, it's a balance issue. However for Druids who are not a part of a circle, or who do not come into contact with others frequently they are soft-locked out of this ability because even if they know how to do it, they cannot because they need two others. Do you see where the concern is?

Lastly you're not disagreeing with the bias of combat oriented abilities vs healing aspects. Multiple people have expressed an upset that we feel the healing aspects are being pushed to the side, unlike the combat abilities are given vague and low attention information. You might not use the healing abilities very often, your group might not use them as much, but there are other Druids who do and are very active in them and would like to see them grow. Not pushed back.

I myself expressed and even cited a part that specifically states that we cannot heal the source of blight, which 100% negates our healing abilities. Because if we cannot heal it, cant get rid of it, then we're just constantly cleaning up the area of infection without treating the wound on Nature so to speak. This is directly a step back and I'd like it addressed.
This right here, I would like clarification please:

  3. Thank you for your clarifications!

Again, that didn't address my concerns with Guidance. LOS is required as you said but if you cannot see the roots, you cant use them is my question.
I'm not looking at a tree in the scenario, I'm in the dark underground. Or even if you're underground in a tunnel, you know there's roots around you with tuning but the way it's worded that I cannot use these roots because I cant see them.

Picture from your Tiers in Restoration:

    image.png.c42a65e4081295d485ba9fb694063e04.png

Also you did not address my concern over the fact we cannot heal the 'Source' of blight. My example again, a Blighted Necro Tree, by your wording we can heal the corruption it spreads but not the tree itself since it's a 'source'. Is this correct or is it worded strangely?

    image.png.2b15682d955a7cb97e75908d24945de4.png

So with Barkskin, every time we want to create it we need two other Druids that know it just to be clear for a total of three Druids to begin to use it. I get it's supposed to be an 'oh crap combat' button, which is really cool, and I can see the OP of it perhaps needing time out of combat with other Druids to be able to use it. I can only think from an Rp aspect, if you dont have the connections with other Druids you'll be soft-locked out of it because no one will help/teach you.

With Mending I strongly want the ability to be able to leaf bandage them, as I stated I can use a regular bandage and patch them up but as a Druid I do not understand why we cant. If you use the argument of Aspects deeming it as interference, then remove it from being allowed on Descendants because they are completely outside the Druids abilitys and always have been. There's no reason it should work on 'Non Natural People' and it cant work on 'Natural'.

You also bring up the point that we almost cannot directly heal animals themselves, but we can do everything and anything to plants. Again, animals getting the short end of the spectrum even from the Aspects themselves. Not every injury or illness is natural, it could be something as mundane as some jerk poisoning the water source and large swatches of animal life that Druids just have to shrug and say 'Cant do anything'. I feel that's more against the way our abilities should be then anything else.

Yes grasping wasn't used much but that was because we were so heavily nerphed before. We've never had a time to actually us it because so far everything event related has been 'Kill yourself to heal this or just leave it be'. That's sort of a terrible issue that's been plaguing the server as of late, but again that's just one more healing ability removed when you have three new combat ones thrown in the mix.

Of course! We're all here to make a fun Rp experience.

  4. So now second post! I've had time to really look over the lore and I'm equally pleased and bothered by this piece, here's why~

I'm grateful for the plethora of skills that were terribly redundant to be grouped together, I agree we had too many abilities that did exactly the same thing just slightly nuanced. This makes it much easier to understand and keep track of and far far less lessons for each ability.

That being said I need to cover some other topics:

Guidiance, on this one everything seems good till you get to combat scenario. It takes line of sight, which is both good and bad in my opinion. Druids have never needed line of sight to know where something is, take for example roots. If I'm stuck underground trapped and I cant see the roots that are all around me, is this saying I cannot use them to tunnel out because I cannot see them? Or do I just have to stare at the 'dirt' in which I know roots are threaded through? Some clarification would be good.

Druidic Limbs, with the one I'm only confused about the creation. Before we would need to use Awakening to bring the dead wood back to life, which on one hand was confusing because blooming did that as well, but it looks like it's specifically an enchantment for druidic limb function in passive. Some clarification on that would be nice.

Restoration, one of my biggest concerns. It seems to take a large step back from the previous Purging/Beastpurge/Cleansing in that it's been nerphed down horribly.
Why at T5 can I only go 10 blocks from the previous at best 15? Fertilizing is a 15 block radius, why can this one not be? Other magics can reach way way father then that, and can do it instantly. It also doesn't specify if we can move or not, when previously we were able to slowly move forwards while casting.
Druids have been a large support class and this feels like the shortened range and unclear on whether or not how easily it is to disrupt feels like a step back. On top of that it says the source of blight can still spread meaning we cant use this to cleanse it? So then what's the point if a Necro can blight a tree (the source), and it can keep spreading and we have to what...chop it down? It makes no sense we cannot use this ability to purge the source of the spread, just the offset. It feels like the healing aspects/peaceful druid types got pushed to the back as there is far more attack and combat related abilities then peaceful/support abilities now then ever before.
Some clarification would be good please.

Luonto, I do not understand why it's a 'passive' and yet has to be taught? It's an Rp aspect at best and it requires a lesson to learn, that to me is bloat for lessons. I think it should be an auto learn like it was prior.

Barkskin, I need some clarification. Why does it take two druids with the knowledge to teach it? Why cant it be just one? It's saying also that the ritual is performed as a means to teach and demonstrate, but what about a T5 Druid that already knows it? Do they need two other Druids to help put new bark on them, or can they do it themselves? Clarification please.

Mending, the only issue I have with this is why not animals? Once again we have an ability that works on people, non druids, and druids but not animals? Why? What makes them different then a person? As a Druid they are a part of nature and again get the short end of the stick, because another ability doesn't include something we're supposed to be able to help. I would like to see more abilities being able to aid animals, who are part of nature unlike people, and to add in that they can also be mended. I do not see any reason why animals specifically are excluded when their flesh is the same kind of flesh others have.
And if the argument is that they wont hold still? We can pacify animals and I can certainly use a normal bandage on them, but you're telling me they wont sit still for me to put a leaf bandage? Makes no sense, clarification please.

I'm really upset at the loss of Grasping. Once more healing/peaceful druids are losing out to combat related abilities, and now one of our best abilities that doubled as a new Infusion is being pushed out. It was a great anti-dark magic barrier ability, and it gave hope to those Druids that want to do less fight and more support that they have something major they could do. I would like to see it re-added or at least give us an equivalent ability that boosts the healing side of Druids. Especially since in the redlines it says we can be disrupted by literally someone throwing rocks at us. Another issue is that again as it was pointed out, a lot of the time we're called to heal and fix places that we cant because we're just not strong enough.

In conclusion, I hope a buff to the more healing/peaceful aspects of this rewrite because in various places they got nerphed while the combat warrior class got a serious boost. Druids were meant to be equally both but this feels more leaning towards the other, though I am very grateful at the combination of the redundant abilities.

  5. 1 hour ago, Unwillingly said:

Something that's always been a point of contention for me and druidism is dedicancy. It's always felt like culture that's just validated through lore, because to my knowledge the majority of other magics on the server don't contain this rigid of a schedule. "You need to do x amount of tasks over x amount of weeks in order to even be CONSIDERED for druidism oh and also you need to do this GRAND task that literally every other druid teacher has to do too"

It feels very restricting of freeform RP and how people perceive not only learning magic, but teaching it. Genuine question, what's the necessity behind dedicancy being lore-enforced instead of just a cultural aspect, and just letting people teach students at their own pace and style like other magics do?

A lot of people dont realize but Druidism actually originally started out as a Religion/Culture and was later introduced as a magic
Druidism has always heavily been tied to this culture as a result and has evolved in various ways over the course of time
There's no reason to change it as the path in Druidism allows you to form bonds and friendships with not only your mentor but also your fellows that you will work alongside, unlike many other Magics that just supports 1x1 interaction.

RP wise you also have to remember the Druidism is also a way of life. It alters not only the soul but also a mental bond with Nature, and that's a heavy burden. Being able to steadily come to that sort of terms and headspace will take time, otherwise those attuned would probably go insane in the real world.

TLDR: Why change something that isn't broken? It's been working since the dawn of Druidism and kept to it's roots, so what is the issue with it? It also helps limit the number of Druids out there, by limiting the people who would just pick up and throw away this magic willy nilly. Less people also means less likely someone's going to screw up and make the ST and Lore team look at us sideways. XD

  6. In the wintery land a dark 'ker sat and looked out towards the snow, watching the flakes fall as he rolled a piece of crystal around in his palms. A last gift from a friend...he let go of the pain of betrayal in his heart. He wished he had done better...been a better friend...had gone and had a fun day with that promised so long ago. But time and circumstance had lost that opportunity, but he never forgot. Will never forget the kind man that was by his side throughout a terrible time...even if in the end their paths stepped away. He holds the crystal close, still in it's raw form, a gift never given...and a memento to keep now.

  7. In my opinion, because of the server load and the fact that it kills mob spawning and breeding, I think adding an admin shop for animal goods would be helpful. Where you can buy white wool, ink sacs, leather, rabbit skin, eggs, things that are generally difficult to get when the server is on high population and it bottleneck the animal spawns.

  8. A 'ker sat within the mouth of his house as he received his letter, reading a flurry of emotions flew through him as his ears wilted...perked...and eventually tears welled up. The Druid knew it would happen, that he'd get weepy over this but his lips curled into a smile. Looking to his companion he let out a sad laugh...
"You know I cant remember the first time we met...I dont know why. He's told me several times but I've never....the memory never comes. Weirdly one of my earliest and most powerful memories of him is me, freaking out for some reason....and he just slams to the ground and roars in my face 'Calm down or I will ******* eat you!'."
The 'ker laughed, wiping away at his eyes  as he smiled down to the letter.

"Bastard is going to miss my Wedding, jokes on you I'm having it at the Perch! Still...I'm glad he's happy. I dont want...to see him end up like Harold did. I'm glad...in a way."

The 'ker stretched as he stood, rolling his shoulder.

    "Right...go there....cry....come back...cry more..."
And then the 'ker set out.

(( Ooc I'm glad you're taking this full step away, I know LOTC can be a poison. Rest and relax, maybe next map will draw you in with it's lush new waves of bullshit. XD
Till then, see you in the discord. ;) Stay Fancy Cowboy ))

  9. Honestly I think it's because we live our characters and the stories we create. We're happy when they are happy, excited when something happens, and feel their pain when something hurts them. It lends a more in depth field to experience these stories, but in turn it effects us and how we feel.

I find the times that really get to me is when something happens that's unfair.... Not in the sense of like a fight you can't win, but when things happen out of your control and somehow it's your fault....when the feelings of ooc and RP blur together. You get angry and hurt because it's unfair....

But even so, you got to work through that and pick yourself back up. Taking a step back definitely helps, it prevents rash decisions and allows tempers to cool. And at the end of the day you have to remember that you're writing a story, and even if you don't like the way it's going you have time to change it and to reach out to the people that will help you along the way. Because there will always be those people, that are happy to write the story with you, and that's the reason it's still fun and it draws you back in.

At least those are my thoughts and how I've taken to it.

  10. A dark 'ker tilted his head as he read the missive, bright violet eyes considering the implications. With a huff he let it fall to the snow, shaking his head with a small smirk.

"Removing the point of why would we even bother, and how exhausting such an endeavor would be. Didn't the high elves have this exact same idea some odd years ago, leading to them cutting down every tree and killing every animal in their city? How well did that turn out for them, and I wonder when they realized we just didn't care that much."

Giggling and kicking his feet as he stared out at the snow, he thought about how fun some people could be.

  11. Love that it's getting a re-write, I know there's been a lot of questions surrounding it!

Question though, I might have missed it.

When an Epiphyte is killed via normal descendant death, I didn't see the section that explains what happens when they are 'reborn' as I assume they are born from their own plant and not the cloud temple? Just a small thing. I know in some lore there are CA's that also have a 'death cool-down' meaning they cant be 'reborn' right away, but need to wait an hour or so before they can or somesuch.

  12. The problem I'm finding with this map, is that more roads are being added on top of the central roads.

The issue is that the main cities that were once the points of Rp are being left behind, because they were situated so far back at the corners of the maps. This allowed smaller settlements to throw themselves, sometimes smack dab, in the middle of the roads leading to these cities.

There are places where the "Main Road" passes through a settlement, which I think was something that should not have been allowed. Especially since most of the time there's a gate and it halts ability to go to the cities and causes activity in those cities to fall dramatically.

Personally I like the idea of a main almost circular road that has splinters off of it, leading to different cities or settlements that connect to this highway. That way, a settlement or city cannot actively block another.

  13. Unknowing of his dear friend's vision, struggles, and current revelations a 'ker not too far from the Tavern sat amongst a ring of flora that swayed to the rhythm of calming and sooth. His hands shook and mind in turmoil, most days, but today perhaps he sensed the change...and so he waited...meditated...thinking of the very friend that dreamed...

  14. A silvery skinned 'ker with too bright violet eyes circled the Tavern, heading towards his own small home but looking inwards to seek perhaps sight or sound or scent of a friend who'd gone hunting. Ever patient he waited to greet...perhaps not today...but sometime before he'd turn away and head down.

(( Wonderful to read, always enjoy these perspectives! ))

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Transcendence

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Transcendance is the Druidic feat of an older and experianced Druid, the ability to leave their physical body and enter The Eternal Forest, the Fae's Realm, the Druid's Afterlife, and the domain of the Aspects. A form of spirit walking as it's known, with the goal to seek often council with their fallen druidic kin or to spend time within the realm of the Aspects for more personal reasons.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There are no different sections or subsections of the magic, as it's part of Druidism as a whole.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Damien's eyes closed as the bright violet color began to glow and be replaced with a striking icy blue, the 'ker relaxing in the Fae Ring. As his breath began to frost into the air, almost as if the temperature dropped several degrees. He seemed to take a moment to simply meditate, his breathing coming in slow before nature rose and fell in waves for the Druid, the hum getting ever louder as his eyes continued to glow a shade brighter beneath ebony lashes. As he breathed out that huffing frozen breath into the air, the 'ker began to reach out to Nature around him, each root, plant, bug and tree and touching upon the different glows of life that existed around him. Leaning into each song, hearing them echo back to him...tuning out the world around the 'ker he slid deeper into the meditation within. Focusing on the sight of the world that began to highlight slowly around him in an emerald light, turning each life into a tiny flame like fireflies flickering into existence his eyes remained closed as the 'ker tilted his head tos tart to survey and view the life around him.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

The 'ker would sit down with his students, smiling to each in turn. They had chosen a place of great height, a deep of night in order to see the fullness of the moon. "The Moon is important to opening the door to the world that we seek, with it's full face it gives strength to the ring and cracks the door to their realm open. As the moon waxes and wanes it will pull and ebb the tides of the ocean, the lull of the land, and the rotation of the path animals will take. The Fae Ring is that door that we seek, and we will walk through it when the moon is at it's full...and the energy inside leaks through to our souls. For now...I want you all to sit with me, and meditate. Focus upon yourselves, on the song within you that resonates with Nature. I want you to reach out similar to Greensight, and begin to see...hear...feel...the life around you. Expand this sight...and be one with the Song of Nature around you."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

First I would attempt to instruct them that they have done things incorrectly, correct them on what is acceptable and make sure they understand exactly what to do when it comes to the spell they're attempting. I would also review their other abilities to ensure they understand those as well.

If this problem persisted however, I would tell them that their MA will be at risk and should they continue down this path I would drop them from my own TA as I will not be liable after my attempt.
Further I would drop them from my TA and contact moderation to discuss possible punishements.
