The First 'Totenkopf' Imperial Regiment of Foot is a foot guard regiment attached under the First Cohort, being its most senior unit. It was the first regiment raised by declaration of the Imperial Marshal, by command of the Emperor Peter upon His ascension, and amongst the most prestigious. As the first imperial army regiment, it had the opportunity to prove itself quickly. Renowned as incredibly zealous and almost fanatical warriors, the Death's Head First is the First Cohort's unit of shock infantry - the very first Imperial men to advance upon enemy positions are normally elements of the First Regiment, doing so with acute efficiency and valor. There has not been a single combat operation undertaken by the Imperial military that has not seen the Totenkopf in the vanguard. The men of the First have served so valiantly that a number of its soldiers have been amongst the most highly decorated in the Empire's history, doing so at great cost. The Totenkopf has the fourth highest casualty rate in the imperial military, being surpassed only by the unspoken Forlorn Hope penal regiments. As such, its men understand camaraderie and brotherhood like no other, every man willing to surrender a finger or a wrist if it would save the brother to their right. A fatalistic unit of brothers-in-arms with one noble purpose - serve the Empire unto death! "Emperor, Decurion, Oren - three words forge an army." What does this regiment look like? The Totenkopf is currently commanded directly by the fiercely zealous Imperial Lord-Colonel Albrecht Horen, commander of the First Cohort, taking the Totenkopf as his flag regiment. As shock infantry, the grizzliest and most strongly built of men are recruited into the First's ranks, where they are often outfitted with segmented plate armor and greatswords or large bastard swords, with tower shields usually positioned on the front ranks of the regiment's various units by the absolute strongest. With a variety of psychological and physical tests required to enter the regiment's ranks, the very presence of the Totenkopf on the field of battle seems bred to strike fear into the enemy's hearts. It is no uncommon sight to see a brother of the First Regiment missing an eye, an ear or an entire hand. Many Totenkopf soldiers request permission to remain in service even after suffering from such wounds, setting them apart from the many hundreds of other Imperial Army regiments and cohorts. The First Imperial Regiment's tabard colors are black and silver over segmented plate or heraldic chainmail surcoats. What is the First Regiment looking for? The First Regiment looks for hawkish, grizzly young men with an eagerness to serve to recruit to its ranks. It welcomes any young men keen with swordsmanship to its ranks to become part of a divine brotherhood truly mighty and blessed. Even those not of yet-remarkable physique or even no prior skill at all are called to serve in the regiment's ranks, as the training one undergoes to pass into its ranks are incredibly intense. The Totenkopf has access to the finest instructors and teachers in the world of men. The Regiment also seeks to recruit promising blacksmiths, miners or other tradesmen into its ranks and will both pay them a double wage, and if they prove skilful enough, will promote them several ranks upward and eventually commission them as an officer. What can the First Regiment offer me in return? A righteous brotherhood alongside some of the finest soldiers humanity has to offer, the sturdiest equipment in the world, the greatest and most rewarding career in the world with pay wages appropriated to truly reward the service and diligence of the Empire's armies, and the glory of serving both Emperor and Empire on the field of battle. COHORS I. II. REG "Forward onto the anvil of war!" What is it? The Second Imperial Regiment of Foot is a foot guard regiment attached beneath the First Cohort of the Exercitus Imperium. Alongside the Totenkopf First, the Second "Hammertruppen" Regiment was one of the first regiments levied by the Imperial Marshal upon the ascension of Emperor Peter Chivay to the throne of Oren, and the reformation of the Empire. Despite being organized into the prestigious First Cohort, the Second Regiment was relatively obscure until the conquest of Fenn, where the leadership of Decurion Arthal Lowedge brought both glory and fear to the Second's name, being credited with a multitude of combat victories and trophies under its belt. Now considered a veteran unit, having seen heavy action during the Fringe War, the regiment has since become infamous for its high mobility and its application of lightning war against its enemies - the application of warhammers on enemy battle formations' flanks has proven highly effective. What does it look like? The Second Regiment is currently commanded by the triumphant Decurion Rowan Hightower, the former executive officer to Rageccius Cato and Decurion Lowedge prior to his retirement and death. Despite their use of heavy hammers, the infantrymen of the Second are not necessarily grizzly, towering, men of iron - they are often of average height with the builds of sprinters and endurance runners, though they are still very imposing nonetheless. The mighty warhammers, maces and morningstars the Second outfits itself with tend to make up for their lack of heavyset builds or plate armor. The regiment's colors and uniforms are black and gold, or purple and gold. The men of the Second share a close brotherhood such that the regiment is like a family in itself. For every man lost, they shall kill ten. For every moment lost, time never stops. For every sorrow given, a new death is stricken. To die for Oren is to die a good death. These are the combat principles the regiment lives and fights by, and the knowledge it passes down to its new recruits and descendants. The Imperial Army Reconnaissance tends to recruit almost exclusively from the Second Regiment. What can I provide to the regiment? If the Empire's calling suits you and you think you can run fast and strike hard, then the Second Regiment invites you to train with its ranks. The Regiment calls for any or all adventurous men to seek its ranks - even the slightest, weakest walk of human life can be transformed into one of lightning by the men of the Second. If you have a trade, such as weaponsmithing, then the Second Regiment shall take you into its quartermaster corps where you will rise through the ranks to become an officer. What can the regiment provide to me? The best arms, equipment and crafts available to man, a great corps of brothers led by keen-eyed officers, a superb salary and job more rewarding than any other profession in the Empire, the honor of serving in both the Emperor and Oren's name, and a distribution of land to you following the completion of your service.
