How old are you?: - I am 16 years of age
Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - I have not role played in a Minecraft server before.
Have you applied to this server before? (Please link past applications): - I have not applied to this server before.
How did you hear about us?: - By chance I came upon a Minecraft video about a unique Lord of The Rings server. I searched up servers similar to the one I saw and I chose this one out of all the other ones I viewed,and my interest was piqued.
What do you think the server will be like? - I have little to no idea what to expect from the server. From what I've read of the rules, it looks like I can expect immersive and fun gameplay.
Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - I have read and agreed to the rules (staying in character, not performing villianous acts unless I apply to be a villain, etc...)
What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - I most agree with being IC in game, and also obviously no swearing (except what the character would say), making sexual comments, including rape, and roleplaying sexual acts (unless it's fade to black), etc...
Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:- In combat (PvP or Rp), both player(s) must consent to fight, and five seconds will be given to prepare. Leading up to a battle, you have to have an IC reason to do so. A villain's role is to provide fun challenges to other players. You cannot deprive others of their fun, even if you are playing as a villain.
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules):- Nope, I've read up on the rules, I have a pretty good understanding of what they are.
Definitions
These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!
What is roleplaying?: - To change one's behavior to suit a role. Most prevalent in RPG games like this server for example.
What’s metagaming?: - Having a character perform actions that would not be known to the character that the player knows. This is frowned upon in some RPG communities, because it breaks the willing suspension of disbelief, such as utilizing Skype to coordinate attacks on other players (because the characters would not otherwise be able to contact others to do so, unless with lengthier, and more complicated methods)
What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is when a player plays a character a certain way to advance the character's skills to optimal levels, with disregard to other gameplay elements. An example would be level grinding by performing monotonous tasks that are OOC.
In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.
What’s your character called?: - Bernuk Olgstagen
What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): - Olgstagen is a dwarf, or to be more exact, a cave dwarf.
What gender are they?: - Bernuk Olgstagen is male.
How old are they?: - Olgstagen is 60 years of age, youthful for a dwarf.
Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Bernuk Olgstagen resided with his secluded clan in the Fringe mountains after the destruction of the realm before, during the Black Scourge. One day while mining with his older brother, Bornik, they encountered a troll, a rare sight, residing in a cave. The troll attacked, fatally wounding Bornik, and injuring Bernuk. Bernuk fled, inadvertently leading the troll back to his home. Bernuk was the only survivor of his small clan, and with a heavy heart, he fled once again from the troll, escaping into the sunlight where the troll could not follow. He eventually made it to Kal'Arkon...
What are they like? (personality): - Before the tragic events that unfolded, he was a recluse, not uncommon among the cave dwarves, but even more so than usual, tinkering, building, and mining. He was almost completely used to darkness. Now, he has to deal with being the last of his clan. Ever since he fled his home, he realized he was fed up with living in caves. He still loved mining and such, but yearned for more. He isn't very religious, more preoccupied with the mysteries caves harbor than the worship of deities.
What are their ambitions?: - He harbors hate for the troll that slew his clan, but knows he is neither capable of defeating it, nor is he likely to find it, despite his knowledge of the mountains, and his battle prowess, having fought the denizens that lurk within the caves. He wants to adventure. Not battle, since he is more passive than his other brethren, but explore other vast networks of caves, and the riches that lay within, and one day when he is ready, hunt down the troll.
Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): -
- Olfstagen is a natural at mining
- Decent at battling lesser foes (mostly of the cave variety)
- Not as skilled at battling other "civilized" races
- Uses self-crafted weapons and armor
- Somewhat oblivious to events that have happened before the troll attack (living in secluded clan)
- Timidness makes him less crafty with words unlike other cave dwarves
Give us a description of how they look?: - He is a dwarf of 60 years, with a scar running down the left side of his face when the troll blinded him in his left eye. His beard is brown, but surprisingly short, as he trims it so it does not get in the way of mining, to the dismay of others who are more proud of their beards.
