Out-Of-Character Information
The simplest section of the application. Answer these questions so we can get to know you a bit more. Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication!
What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: - Butcher_Chin
How old are you?: - 18
Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - Nope, but I'm interested in trying it out.
Have you applied to this server before? (Please link past applications): - N/A
How did you hear about us?: - I found a couple youtube videos of people playing it and it looked intriguing.
What do you think the server will be like? - I think it will be like living in a brand new world, with many people working together to make this place feel alive.
Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Indeed.
What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - I personally agree with the roleplay-friendly skin rule the most. I'm sure my old Sokka skin wouldn't quite fit in with this world. Plus, I feel that creating my own skin actually helped create more details for my backstory.
Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:- I do.
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so maybe we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules):- The rules seem clear enough to me.
Definitions
These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!
What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is the act of escaping your own world to enter a new one. In this world, you take on a new persona that can range from a near copy of yourself to someone that is the complete opposite of you. You assume the personality, values, and ambitions of this person and act as they would, not necessarily as you would.
What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is letting information that you know outside of the roleplaying experience pass on to your character. This is frowned upon, as it makes no sense within the context of the roleplaying world. For example, if your character doesn't have a map or knowledge of the area, he can't be expected to beeline to his destination because you have an overworld map next to your minecraft browser. He must utilize road signs or the knowledge of other characters in game to make his way to where he wants to go.
What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is when you assume control of the actions or fate of a character that is not your own, or if you make your own character impervious to anything that can harm him/her. This can be frustrating to other players. For instance, suppose two characters are fighting and the first player types: "Bob pushes Jeff out the window, breaking Jeff's back." The second player had no say in this significant development for his own character, and thus this type of roleplaying is discouraged. A better way to approach this is for the first player to type: "Bob attempts to push Jeff towards the window." This way, the second player can decide if he wants Jeff to fall out the window or dodge the push.

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): -
Born in the outskirts of Kaldonia in the Fringe, Nicholas lived a quiet life in his early years. He had one older brother, Crain, who he adored. Crain was his idol: he was brave, loving, and charitable. In Nicholas's eyes, he wanted nothing more than to be just like his brother. Crain taught Nicholas everything, from childhood games to farming. Crain even showed him a thing or two about shooting a bow, though Crain admittedly wasn't much better than Nicholas. The two were practically inseparable. That is, until Crain left to join the Imperial army to fight alongside the elves in the Fringe War. Though saddened by his absence, Nicholas waited patiently for his brother's return. Crain never came back.
With the death of their elder son, Nicholas's parents became incredibly protective over their surviving son. So much so that he was rarely allowed to leave the house. At first, this did not bother him much, as he would much rather grieve than leave his home. However, as the years passed, Nicholas desired more and more to escape the prison that was his house and to explore the world. He would have left sooner, but felt obligated to help his parents combat the drought which plagued the land. Nicholas knew that Crain would do the same. He tried to convince his parents to leave when it became apparent that the drought would not cease, but his efforts were futile. They were too attached to their dying land, claiming that they would "catch a lucky break soon." This ignorance, coupled with years of confinement, pushed Nicholas over the edge. He ran away. He had heard word of a new land, Thales, which was much more habitable than the dying Fringe. He made his way to the portal and crossed over to this new realm.
It was not too long after Nicholas moved into Tempum when he heard about an expedition to a newer land, one that may be the origin of all life. He did not think twice before jumping on a ship, eager to explore this new realm. In memory of his brother, he has also decided to try to encourage peace in this land so that no other person can feel the pain of losing someone in needless violence.
What are they like? (personality): - Nicholas can be somewhat reserved, but is enthusiastic when trying new things. He detests violence, and only fights in drastic circumstances. When he is forced to fight, he prefers to use a bow: the sight of blood makes him nauseous, so he tries to stay as far away from it as he can. At times he can be quite clumsy, so he always wears shoulder and knee plates for protection in case he trips. Years of isolation have caused him to be somewhat awkward in social situations, but if he gets comfortable with someone he is a loyal friend. He is dedicated to achieving whatever goal he sets for himself.
What are their ambitions?: - Nicholas yearns to explore the world and to try to keep the peace wherever he goes.
Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): -
Strengths:
- Decent at using a bow
- Loyal
- Has a practical approach to problems
- A good farmer, though prefers to explore
Weaknesses:
- Gets squeamish at the sight of blood
- Can be a bit of a clutz
- Horribly inadequate with melee weapons
Give us a description of how they look?: - Nicholas is 5'5", fair skinned, and lacks facial hair. The only visible hair on him is on his head, which is brown, rough, and a tad messy. His eyes are a dark grey, portraying solemness but with a glint of curiosity. He dresses modestly, though he does wear small shoulder and knee plates. He is often seen with a quiver on his back.
