What’s the rule you agree with the most?: I'd most agree with the rule that forbids the spreading of propaganda against staff members. How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I've heard about LoTC from many good companions of mine and heard mostly good things about it. Definitions What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is essentially putting yourself in somebody else's shoes. Except that somebody else is your creation. You decide what they do, what they say, what they're like, and the decisions they make. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is the act of obtaining RP-pertinent knowledge through some OOC method (I.E. Skype, PMs, texting, etc.) and illegally putting it to use in roleplay. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is, to put it simply, the act of acting out something that would give your opponent absolutely no chance to combat it. You're essentially overwhelming them to the point that they have no chance to react. For example: Bob Bobbington VII easily blocks Benedict Cumberbatch's attempted strike. He kicks him in the balls, stabs him in the kidney, proceeds to leap over him and stab his mother in the face, then uses his sword to slice his head off, killing him instantly. In-Character Information Character’s Name: Cyrus Magnuson Character’s Sex: Male. Character’s Race: Cyrus is a Human. Character’s Age: Cyrus is twenty-six years of age. Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Cyrus was a simple village boy, living with his dear father and mother, Ferghus and Annabelle Magnuson. As his father was a blacksmith, one day he saw it fit to teach his young 13-year-old son the ways of this beautiful metalworking craft, and luckily for Ferghus, Cyrus took an interest. A very deep interest in fact, for he would not leave the forge that day. He continued to tinker with the different tools and equipment, hardly eating or drinking whilst doing so. One day, a couple of weeks later, Cyrus came home as usual, but he wielded an odd-shaped, uneven knife. When his father asked where he had gotten the knife, Cyrus answered with a jovial, childish "I made it myself, Daddy!" Ferghus was proud. More proud than he could've ever put into words. To him and Cyrus both, this was the start of something beautiful. From that point on, every day Cyrus smithed and smithed and smithed, under the watchful, yet helpful eye of his stoic father. Eventually, when Cyrus was eighteen years of age, a grown man in his opinion, he decided to leave the house to pursue his career. His mother was practically hysterical (and at that point Cyrus thought she was overreacting). But if his father was against it, he sure didn't show it. In fact, Ferghus loved the prospect of his dear son having a taste of the wide-open world, meeting new people, making new memories. He knew it had to happen someday, that his jolly ol' boy would grow up. Ferghus shed a tear from his eye, as he watched his son go, with nothing but a rucksack filled with clothes and blacksmithing supplies, to do just that. Personality Traits: Cyrus is a greatly friendly, sociable individual, and is hardly seen without his classic white-toothed smile. Ambitions: For the most part, Cyrus' main ambition is to be remembered by many, to die with friends by his side. To mean something. Strengths/Talents: His upper body strength definitely works to his advantage. Despite his brute-like, imposing appearance, Cyrus is also a very philosophical, intelligent man. Also, from years of metalworking with his father, he has exceptional smithing capabilities. Although, there are still some things he can't make. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Cyrus has the tendency to, if provided enough of a motive, be pugnacious and start fights with certain people. He is also capable of holding extremely long-winded grudges, some lasting for years. Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Cyrus would look to be about 6'4", and weigh around 190-200 pounds. He is of a muscular, broad-shouldered build, again, from years of blacksmithing and metalworking. He has a short, yet bushy brown beard framing his smile-worn lips. The hair upon his head is of a silky, straight, malleable texture, and carries the same color as his beard. Upon further observation, one might find that his eyes are of a color reminiscent of that of shining emeralds. Appearance, please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin (If you need help, see our screenshot guide here): Just a bit of a side note here....I wasn't entirely sure about the blacksmith thing, so I decided to put it in in the off chance that I'd be allowed to have a character of this calibre. Because if this rule were not in place, we'd suddenly have people cussing and griefing and RDM-ing all willy-nilly. And you can't have that. Strengths/Talents: His skill with a bow is amazing, and he can accomplish great feats with the longbow given to him as a family keepsake. His eyes are of an emerald green color, that seem to gleam as one further approaches him. Eldrin also weighs in at approximately 180 pounds. His clothing often consists of a deep green tunic and, when he is allowed, a hood and a black mask over his face. When it can be seen, his hair is a dirty blonde, hanging down to about his shoulders. It's actually from a good friend of mine who plays on there that I heard about this server. No, I have not applied to this server before. This is my first time. I heard about Lord of the Craft from my friend on another RP server. I think it'll be a fun experience, but from me reading the rules, there'll probably be more restrictions. Yes, I have read and agreed to the rules. I agree most with the rule against descriptive sexual roleplay. Best to keep it appropriate, even for younger audiences. Yes, I have read and completely comprehend the rules of combat. I completely understand every rule on the page of rules that I've read. Definitions Roleplaying - The act of controlling a character completely spawned from your own mind, and making them act and look a way that is desirable to you. Metagaming - The act of using elements outside of rp (ooc, etc.) inside of rp, and making a noticeable impact on RP around you. In-Character Information My Character's Name: Aodhan Quinn Race - Human Sex - Male Age - 21 Personality - He is a man of few words, except around people he loves and trusts. He is very protective and loyal to those people. He is extremely intelligent and level-headed, but also tends to be mischevous, deceptive, and cunning on some occasions. He also thoroughly adores felines. Ambitions - Aodhan hardly has any ambitions, other than to be the best man he can be. Special Skills - He is extremely skilled with any weapon, be it a blade, bow, or simply his bare hands. He is very accurate, agile, and stealthy. Looks - Aodhan is a very tall, lean, muscular man. He has long, flowing, jet-black hair and bright, emerald-green eyes. He is almost always seen wearing a pair of sleek eyeglasses. He is usually always dressed in dark colors, preferably black.
