Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.):
Etoile was born among a desolate tribe of Farfolk, that had lived in Athera for generations. She remembers little of that time, but vaguely remembers seeing her mother often huddled over a brewing stand when not cooking for Etoile and her elder brother Akio. She has a glimpse of memory of her father levitating her favorite toys over her head for simple amusement. Those were the only memories of her life before captivity. She couldn’t remember how or why, just her mother holding her tight as what she called the Kiryuus raided their home. She grew up with the rest of her family and the surviving tribe in slavery. From what little she heard the overseers speaking to one another, the Kiryuus made a deal with an Undead to enslave Farfolk to keep their home in Aegis from being raided. She never saw her mother brew or father alter again, though could see in their eyes that they kept their magic secret for a reason. The life of working to please her Highland captors was all she knew until the day of their escape.
Fire. The blazing heat was all she could remember of that day. The last day she had seen her parents . The day she lost her brother. The last day she was a Farfolk slave. All the slaves of the Kiryuu estate had decided to flee that day. There was weeks of planning, and she could remember her father being one of the lead conspirators. She was 14 the day they launched the plan. There was a grand distraction of an explosion. Her mother grabbed her and her brother, and they ran from their shack of a home. They met up with their patriarch, and ran towards the gates with at least a 100 other slaves. They had almost made it when the fireballs struck. The Kiryuus had enslaved magicians as well, to act as overseers. They were proficient in dark magic, and it rained flames upon the escapees. She remembered the screams, and her mother pushing her away and to the ground as she was struck. Her father urged her and her brother on as he went to aid their wailing, burning mother. She last saw them right before the next wave of flames hit, before her brother pulled her out of view. Akio dragged her along until the screams were but a dull noise far from the forest.
Escaping the plantation (situated along the border between the two Human Kingdoms of Renatus and Akovia), they survived out in the wild for years, Akio spending mornings gathering any food her could while being a silent as possible, leaving whatever camp they had made to go work in nearby towns wherever he could. They made their way from Anthos to Athera, staying on the outskirts of places such as Kingston and New Ager. Akio made sure she stayed at their campsite, him vowing that she would be a slave to no one any longer. One morning he left to go fishing while she was asleep, and she awoke to his absence. She hadn’t seen him since
For weeks she had to survive on her own, staying in the shadows for fear of any Kiryuu looking for runaways. She stayed away from villages, trying not to garner attention. One day she was starved so much she had to brave going into a town to find food and shelter. She had slept little during her time alone, night terrors haunting her each night. She collapsed on the outskirts of the town from exhaustion, sure she had died. She awoke later that night in the care of an elderly man. He had found her unconscious and brought her to his home. She learned that he was of House Ceux les Sombres, and that his name was Emile. She was hesitant to trust him, after discovering he was a Highlander, like her captors had been. It had taken some time for her to be used to his kindness, and she repeatedly insisted leaving to lessen his burden. But he was strong-willed, and stubborn, urging her to stay, knowing she would die otherwise. She stayed with the family for years after that, taking over the more domestic ‘wifely’ duties the household had lost after the man’s wife had passed. She grew to know his two sons, and they eventually became a close family. She would never forget her original family, however, and kept hope that her brother was still alive somewhere. She currently resides in Leeuvarden with Emile and his family.
Personality Traits: Introverted, keeps to herself, soft-spoken but still stuboorn. Seems to just go with the flow, adores to look at scenery
Ambitions: Stay with the family that took her in (House of Ceux les Sombres) as long as possible, repaying them for the kindness they showed her. Also hopes to find brother at some point, believing there to be a chance of him still being alive. Wishes to excel in alchemy, a familial talent.
Strengths/Talents: Excellent in domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning, has a natural liking for Alchemy, having memories of her mother practicing the craft. Strong-willed despite seeming timid, can be sinister if influenced a certain way. Could be taught to be independent, though it would be a long process. Quick learner, can learn most things with ease.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Is agoraphobic, has night terrors, not a physical fighter (melee and other combat). Can be dependent from use to appeasing to others (has been a slave for most of life). Self-deprecating, does not expect to be much. Can be manipulated with time, if approached correctly. Used to working for others, and not for self.
Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Green eyes, brown skin, long black hair with natural dark purple tints (kept tied back). Wears ragged clothing.
