What is roleplaying?: when you are playing or acting out the role of a fictional character. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is when you use info found through OOC (for example, over Skype) for your IC character’s advantage or to keep them safe- Another way of saying it is - metagaming is giving your IC character knowledge that gives them an advantage. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is roleplaying in a way that doesn't give the other player a chance to respond. An example would be, "I stab so-and-so with a sword". This is powergaming because it does not give the other player a chance to dodge or block. To fix it would to simply say, "I attempt to stab so-and-so with a sword." So that they have a chance to respond. In-Character Information Character’s name: Cullasson Airr Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Wood Elf Character’s age: 53 Biography: Cullasson Air was born in the Fringe in Tahn’siol in 1442. Cullasson was always an only child. He was always loved and well attended by his kind-hearted Mother and Father. He was a quiet bookish boy who preferred solitude. Unfortunately, he was orphaned as a young teenager when his parents were killed by Khorvad’s grip shortly after they passed through the portal and into Thales. Forced to live on the streets of Thales, he survived with very little. Forced to steal food and drink, he learned to be stealthy and quick on his feet. Never really engaging in the company of other street urchins, and seeking solitude once again, in his 20th year he moved to remote woods to live alone and survive outside of society. Mastering the art of archery by hunting for food with his hand carved bow and always ready to protect himself with his sword, he lived in solitude for many years, never welcoming the company of visitors or passersby. Personality Traits: Cullasson is a quiet wood elf and a lover of animals who prefers their company to humans and other elves. Most of all, he would prefer to never cross paths with a dwarf, as they are noisy and rude with foul manners and temperament. Unlike other elves, he doesn’t care much about his physical appearance. Although his body is lean and strong he doesn’t care much that his hair is matted and dirty. Strengths/Talents: His greatest strength is his ability to slip away from a dangerous situation without being noticed or harmed. He is eh with archery but he is somewhat adept with a sword if needed. Ambitions: He wants to be left alone in the privacy of his little wooded home- however, he does long for love and to have his own family. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Without community he is vulnerable to the aggression of thieving passersby and only has himself to rely upon. His inability to live with others has made him a loner, and therefore he is considered a stranger wherever he goes outside the forest and is often deemed suspicious because of his odd appearance and way. He is not very good at talking or making friends, and he is not very good at sword. Appearance : Six feet, 2 inches tall. Long and Lean. His father died before he was born, and his mother died of Khorvad’s Grip. He traveled to Thales at a young age and lived there for a little before traveling to going to Athena and settling down in Annil’sul in the district of Haelun’or. Personality Traits: Serious. Thinks fast under pressure. He doesn’t like other elves or any race for that matter. He much prefers the company of animals and distance from any civilizations. Ambitions: To create a world away from violence and civilization. A place where he can live with nature and animals. Strengths/Talents: He is a skilled archer, and is not very good at a sword, but can use one in times of need. He can move fast and move quietly. Weaknesses/Inabilities: He gets very nervous when under pressure or threatened. He is very anti social and has trouble making allies and tends to antagonize himself.
