What is metagaming? : Using information that your character would not canonically have. (e.g. Learning a player’s weakness OOC and using it against them in combat even though your character had never heard of or met the other character) What is powergaming? : Using what essentially are super powers in roleplay (e.g. you get into a fight and say “I stab you in the heart, you die”) In-Character Information Character’s name: Sana Larchwood Character’s gender: Female Character’s race: Elf Character’s age: 78 Biography: Born in a forest village near Cerulin, in the State of Laureh’lin Sana was, in a word, a difficult child. She was constantly sneaking off as soon as she could walk and being found on the tops of some of the tallest trees. Her father took her hunting every day for practice, and she became incredibly skilled with a bow, like most of her race. On these trips they killed kestrels and deer among other things. Her father wanted her to be safe in her adventures so he taught her dagger fighting so that she wouldn’t be helpless at close range. After a while, she stopped going out hunting with her father and did her own adventuring. She would bring home small items she had found and call them treasure, even if they were no more than rocks. At 50, she decided to leave her village, go live in the forests near the edges of the Primora Jungle and “become one with nature” while refining her reflexes in the hostile environment. Having lived out in the open for 8 years, she became quite sensitive to confined spaces, and will panic if she cannot fully stretch out her small body. During the 8 years spent living in the forest, she became adept at working with natural materials such as wood, leather, etc. After finding and exploring a cave in the woods, she became interested in adventure once again. She went into town for the first time in years, traded for some suitable clothing, supplies, a bow, and arrows. She began to wander Athera as a bow for hire doing odd jobs as a mercenary, assassin, trapper, and even worked curing meat for a while. After being told to kill a man’s child to “send a message,” she refused the job and took a vow of non- violence for 4 years and, instead, worked at a tavern as a waitress serving ale, bread, and stew where she could hear stories of the world. While working at the tavern, she overheard two men from the Sword INVICTUS talking about a treasure in a ruin near the Kazadrin Mountains. She donned her hunting gear (although a bit tighter than before due to her time in the tavern), grabbed her bow and ventured off to the ruin. When she got there, unsurprisingly, the treasure had been taken by one of the many treasure hunter in the area. Although she did not find treasure, going through the ruins had renewed her sense of adventure and she set off once more to become a great adventurer. Personality Traits: Quiet, aggressive at times, cheerful most times, quick to run when faced with one of her weaknesses. Ambitions: Become a great adventurer, visit all of the world. Strengths/Talents: Archery, trapping, dagger fighting. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Can’t do heavy lifting, can’t wield or resist greatweapons (greatswords, war hammers, etc.) easily, can’t wear heavy armor, phobia of confined spaces.
