  1. MC name: ShannonLeigh

    Character's name: Aislin Maar

    Character’s age: ~15

    Character’s Race: Homunculus

What magic(s) did you learn?: Further Alchemy (Grandfathering that I never got around to doing)

How did you learn this magic(s)?: Previous knowledge, mentoring by Jistuma and JavaWizard

MC Name of OOC overseer (Note that they must have a TA in this magic on any character or they must be a member of the MT): Jistuma and Java

Offer an explanation of said magic(s) you learned:

Homunculi are creatures created through alchemy. There are tiers, varying in strength and intelligence, those being fiends, deviants, aberrants, and dopplegangers. The most minor form of homunculi are fiends, which are moreso accidents and stepping stones in the path to creating a greater homunculi. They are often heavily deformed and barely sentient, usually dying within a very short time of being created. The next step up from a fiend is a deviant. These creatures, while sturdier and more intelligent than their lessers, are still short lived and largely imperfect. Their skin has an abnormal color, linked to the base symbol they were created with. As well, the symbol they were created with will have an effect on their abilities. The next step up is the abberant. While being very near perfect in terms of homunculi, they are not quite there. They possess a good deal of intelligence and have very few phsyical defects. Their skin is still hued to the symbol which they were created with, and they possess a weakness to the opposing symbol as the other tiers do. They are longer lived than the first two tiers, and can be perfected to the form of doppleganger through medical and alchemic means. The final and greatest tier is the doppleganger. Extremely hard to create, and requiring only the strongest and rarest of symbols, they are identical to the race their were created from, and have only a slightly shorter lifespan than the race. They are by far the most intelligent of the various homunculi, and possess greater phsyical capabilities. They are, however, without morals, and work only for themselves. They will only show kindness or do good deeds if it furthers their own desires or directly benefits themselves. As with the other tiers, the symbol with which they were created affects them, ie. fire homunculi being susceptible to water and ice, vice versa. Dopplegangers will essentially be made from their symbol, having no blood, but the symbol in their bodies. Upon death, the doppleganger disentigrates into their symbol, ex. ash for fire, dirt for earth. Their personalities are also based on the symbol that they are created from.

In regards to creation, there are several ways to go about the process, as with most things in alchemy. The method that Aislin was taught before her own change was the method using two potions which attract to one another. One potion is drank, and the other is bathed in, resulting in the potions fusing from inside and outside the body in a violent reaction. The potion can be consumed willingly or force fed after death. Dopplegangers will not possess any memories of their former lives, but will retain skills and knowledge.

Fiends are unplayable, and  aberrants and dopplegangers require a character to PK, either willingly or by being tricked into it(with ooc consent). All homunculi are susceptible to gold and holy magic.

  4. I'm gonna leave lotc. Many of you have been great friends to me over the last year and a half, and helped me get through some bad ****. That being said, the bad **** is over, and life moves on. I've decided to move on too.

    Stay in school kids.

  5. Name:  Aislin Maar
    Race: Human
    Age: 38
    Property Address: N/A
    Past Experience: No prior experience.
Reason for Applying: I see a great potential to drive more populace into the city, as well as commerce. The inaccessibility of housing in it's current state has driven me to apply so that I can present ideas and solutions to the other stewards.

OOC Edit: I have experience stewarding on another character back on Vailor.

  6. Tara grips the paper before her, moving it further and closer to her face a few times, her face scrunched up into a fierce squint. She stares at the missive for a good few mintes, her eyes moving intently over the scrawlings on the parchment. She sniffs slightly, then looks up from the long winded paper.

    "I can't read."

  7. Just now, Warmetal said:

Wasn't this the policy on Vailor? That turned out to decentralize everything and fail at it's goal of bringing RP to these smaller settlements.

That's.. not what happened at all?? Maybe you misunderstood my post. Vailor was terrible because the fast travels were ALL in one single spot, and you could go anywhere in Oren from that one spot. To me it was horribly unrealistic and wholly immersion breaking.

I feel like the point of the topics at hand are to create more realism and less "right click a sign for insta teleport"

  8. 9. Should cart routes be nation -> settlement and settlement -> nation only?

im going to get burned at the stake for this but the carts, if allowed to go from settlement to settlement, should progress outward from their respective nation capitals, if a cart is paid for that goes beyond the reach of the current. For example,

    Johannesburg --> Cantal --> Metz

You take one cart to a settlement, perhaps stopping to rest before venturing onward, or simply taking the next cart out of that village. This may also help bring rp to these smaller settlements, which in itself solves a bit of the problem of having settlements in the first place. Eh??
