Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Laura was born into a small household into the once tiny town of Karovia, into the happy arms of her father and mother, an architect and librarian respectively. Following Laura was her brother, David, thus completing the household. As Laura was viewed that she couldn't join the army or work the fields because of her gender, her mother began educating her, with her library as her resource. Keen to raise a loyal, patriotic daughter to the Human empire and the Church of the Creator, she only educated her on the books on the Creator and the glory of humanity. However, the choice of books within the library dwindled upon the death of Andrik Vydra, around when Laura was the age of ten. Once this took place, the local Church decided to ban all books on foreign cultures and theologies, as they deemed this was the cause of their beloved King's death. Hesitant to destroy half of her entire libraries collection of books, Laura's mother merely threw them into a large chest, and placed them into the attic of their home. That night she sat down with her children, and told them never to enter the attic, to which David and Laura both agreed. Avoiding the attic was easy for Laura at first, but it seemed that for every day that passed by, the attic called to her more frequently, and her curiosity burned brighter. After a few months, she gave the first halfhearted tug upon the rope to the attic door, finding it locked. Frowning, she set off about the house to look for the key, finding it in a stroke of luck, under her parents bed. She let it remain there until the next day when both of her parents set off for work, where she grabbed the key and unlocked the attic, descending up the unfolded steps. Surveying around, she found only a dusty chest, to which she strolled up to and opened, only to find dustier books. Laura, utterly dumbfounded as to why these books would be forbidden, took the top from the stack and began to read, the book being all about the Elven race, which within her sheltered life, she had never even heard of. This opened Laura's eyes, and she began to spend all of her time where her parents were away reading in the attic, soaking up the forbidden knowledge about dwarves, halflings, and the various religions of Athera, all of it. In one particular subject she found immense interest, the Druidic Order, and she found herself re-reading the various books on the subject many times. As her town expanded with the vision of the town's architect, her father, she found herself distancing from urban life, the distant forest calling to her. As every new building rose, trees fell, which only added to the melancholy of the situation. However, she was entirely to aware of how much she had to keep her beliefs to herself, even at the age of fourteen, she had heard whispering of the church burning heretics, and the concept brought extreme fear into her. As Laura and David grew, David began to stay at home more to practice his combat training, as he had enlisted to join the Oren military upon reaching the age of seventeen. This put Laura on edge, as she was forced to read much less with the presence of her brother, a devote practitioner of the Church and a future soldier of Oren in the house. She read at moments where she could, trying desperately not to be caught; though all for naught. At the age of nineteen, Laura's concerned parents were worried as to why she hadn't found a suitably man to wed, and enlisted David to keep a close eye on her. As such, one day David spontaneously came into Laura's room to see what she was spending her time doing, to discover her reading a strange book. And even though she moved immediately to hide the book, David came up and snatched it, looking upon the title, seeing it was about Druids. David grew shocked and pale upon seeing this, looking to Laura, who could only sheepishly look away. After a few moments of strained silence, David let out a hesitant sigh, saying, "It's my duty to report things of this nature, you understand?" Laura could only slightly nod, her eyes shut trying to force back tears. "But..." David continued, "you're my sister. And I couldn't ever let them burn you, so I'll give you this choice." Laura glanced up, her eyes red as she listened. "You pack a bag with your things and leave Karovia forever, never to return, or I must report this... please be gone by the time I come back." David then turned and left without another word; the front door being shut heard from Laura's room. Laura took a deep breath, packed her sack with all the books on Druidism she could find, some food, and made her way out of the house, walking straight towards the forest for the first time. As she entered the forest, she rubbed her hand on a tree and smiled, murmuring to herself, "Ah, so this is nature." Her smile remained as she set out into the woods, hoping in her wandering to one day find the Druidic Order. Personality Traits: Kind, Thoughtful/Educated, Non-Spontaneous.
