I was looking around the minecraft forums for an rp server and someone mentioned this one Definitions Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! -What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is immersing yourself into a world where you can be who you want to be and where you interact and live in that world among others with the same intentions, acting out scenarios and playing under certain rules and boundaries. -What is metagaming?: Metagaming is like irony, you're using knowledge that is not shared between you and your character. -What is powergaming?: Powergaming is playing while under the assumption that one's action is more "viable" than the other's in the sense the other's efforts are deemed irrelevant by the player. An example could be "Seathe fought the bandit. The bandit retaliated with full force and forced Seathe down to ground. Seathe attempted to relieve himself but the bandit was ultimately too strong and was able to stop Seathe before he could do anything, and forced him into the bush with ease. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Seathe was born into a normal family near The Northern Mountains, and spent most of his time caring for his 7 younger brothers and sisters. When his parents (they went to town to sell the harvest every Sunday, and in certain months they would trek to Gimblewood) would return, he would venture off into the mountains to let out his boiled up stress. Since he had no weapons other than his knife and did not care to learn any magic, he spent his time climbing trees and jumping from cliff to cliff. On occasion he would take books with him on his hikes and read up on the history of his people, such as the Kingom of Oren, and his favorite being about the Phoenix Revolution, but not all was accurate, as stories were only passed down from generation to generation. Perhaps one day he could slay a troll or witness a graven with his own eyes, he thought. One Sunday morning his family had returned from the harvest and he decided to venture off into the mountains, as usual. While climbing a tree, he had come across an egg resting in a nest. It was alone, around the other eggs that had hatched. He retrieved it and head home. On his walk, the egg had hatched, and a newborn owl was in his backpack. He wasn't sure what to do, so he ran around the woods, looking for something to benefit it's new life. Soon he had ventured far out, further than he could've hoped for, and got lost. He had no idea where to go, what to do, or how to survive. He released the owl, hoping something would come along to aid it, since there was nothing he could do. He then wandered off in the direction of Gimblewood, looking for somewhere to be. With his knowledge of history from his stories, and his personal talents that were either self-acquired passed down genetically through the highlander blood, he knew he was ready to live his dream and see the world as well as make a name for himself. -Personality Traits: Very ambitious, but naturally timid. Enjoys the outdoors and isn't too fond of being around a lot of people, but when in a sticky situation is quite good at talking his way out of it. Ambitions:Caring for animals, surviving, eventually returning home. Also seeks out fun wherever he can find it. Has a strong desire to see the world and make his name be told in the legends he has read about. -Strengths/Talents: Is a good sweet talker and is good with his knife. Very agile and is particularly afraid of heights, but his lust for fun keeps him going through those tight spots. Quite stealthy, too. -Weaknesses/Inabilities:Afraid of heights, isn't good around a ton of people, doesn't like to fight but will if it's necessary. Doesn't know any magic, and will. WILL NOT HURT ANIMALS (he is too fond of nature.) I've been down that road -How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?:I was looking around trying to find a dedicated rp server and someone mentioned it on minecraftforums.net -What is roleplaying?:acting out or performing a certain role in a strict set of rules for entertainment -What is metagaming?:a strategy or action under a certain ruleset which uses external factors to affect the game or action -What is powergaming?:powergaming is where you act towards a certain goal in a game to get the most amount of progress done in a certain area, I prefer to call it grinding but hey that's me Character’s name:Icarius Fiori Character’s gender:Male Character’s race:Human Character’s age:26 -Biography: Icarius was born in the forests of Adrallan, into the Fiori house. His family was a pack of nomadic monks who spent their time spreading their knowledge. Icarius never really cared for their beliefs and instead spent his time enjoying the nature he encountered along his way. While not among the most skilled of fighters, he was not defenseless, as he had been jumped by numerous creatures when wandering from his family from time to time. He did not possess any blade, and used a walking stick he carried around with him as a "spear". He enjoyed using it for both hiking and keeping his distance in a fight. One day during their adventures between Annil'sul and Kal'agnar, his family was mugged and killed when he had wandered off as usual. When he returned to their camp, he was devastated to find the remains of his family. He wandered off to seek revenge, but to this day he had not found the souls of his family's killers. -Personality Traits:Shy, quiet, compassionate, secretive. Sometimes lashes out when talking about a personal subject. Is quite humorous when one has become a good friend of his. -Ambitions:Finding his family's killers, carrying on his family name, and making friends. -Strengths/Talents:Is skilled with spears/polearms. Quite agile but is not strong enough to wear much armor. Also skilled in hand to hand combat, coming from a family of monks. Is a quick thinker and pretty smart. Has a toned, agile body, but is not stronger than most trained knights. -Weaknesses/Inabilities:Sometimes his ambitions can lead him into dangerous situations rather than thinking thoroughly, has a soft spot for certain things (will refuse to kill most animals as he has spent most of his life in nature) -Appearance: Icarius is 5'9" and is toned, but not comparable to the likes of a body builder. He wears red robes over normal citizen clothing, a typical wanderer's outfit. His hair is a moderate length and has brown eyes that match the color of his hair. He would be a charmer, but rather prefers to keep to himself. He weighs 131 pounds and is overall comparable to any other man you would see walking down the streets.
