In-Character Information Character gender: Male Character’s name: Caravaggio Casanova Character race: Human/Heartlander Character's age: 20 Biography: Veiled under a frigid night, pursued by crows and swarmed with flies, a body comes down the river falling into the abyss with a muted splash. The sound of arrows whizzing by was masked by horse hooves striking the ground frantically. The carriage abruptly stopped, the dirt road now seemed to turn into a cliff; there was no turning back now. The carriage door opened with a man stepping out of it with his sword unsheathed advancing to the men on horseback pursuing him. Sounds of steel clashing could be heard from outside of the carriage, then faded to the melancholy hum of the river near the cliff. A woman in a silk dress emerged from the carriage with a baby, running towards the cliff. She knew there was no turning back; how could she turn back, they had gone through so much to escape. One of the men pursuing took aim with his bow, and with one decisive strike pierced the woman’s hand; making her drop the baby and lose her balance. A loud shriek echoed throughout the mountain top, as the woman dissolved into the fog below the cliff. Taking the infant with them, the men headed back home in a victorious trotting pace. A few miles near the Republic of Salvus, there was a military school that would conceive proficient men for any order that would pay the right price. Most of the men from this school were either left there as an orphan, or captured as a child. The men on horseback that kidnapped the infant were headed there to return what belonged to them. The infant’s name is Caravaggio Casanova, a Heartlander and child of a veteran warrior who was one of the best in the military school. Men there cannot marry, but Caravaggio’s father did anyway rebelling against the rules. Caravaggio’s father planned to escape with his lover, but in all their attempts it proved futile. Nearing the age of ten Caravaggio was moved to the barracks near Petrus. These barracks were for when a boy became a teen, or was big enough to fight with a sword. The horse ceased its gallop, and the stone walls of the barracks formed in front of Caravaggio. In the distance you could see the great walls of Petrus; the clouds darkened, and rain began to dance across the land. Caravaggio dismounted off his ride, and the horsemen took off melting into the scenery. Lightning strikes in the distance, Caravaggio approaches the gates but halts, and looks in the distance. Caravaggio falls into the mud, his clothes soaked from the rain as blood trickles down from his noise. Four tall adolescent boys stand in front of Caravaggio snickering. Rage seeps in Caravaggio’s eyes, his hand forms into a solid; he lunges at one of the boys jabbing him in the face, as a result the boy fell down covering his face in pain. Caravaggio triggered a reaction from the rest of the boys, they overcame Caravaggio like a large tidal wave; kicking and punching him until Caravaggio lay in the mud unconscious. When Caravaggio regained consciousness, he entered the barracks wet, and muddy. The Quartermaster punished Caravaggio for being late, making him clean the chamber pots. There were many tough times for Caravaggio, but he made a friend that made everything seem to disappear, his friend’s name was Marshall and they would always look out for each other. The day came when Caravaggio and his friend were fifteen, the age of when you are ready for war. The Petrus guard needed support, a gang of bandits were skirmishing Petrus; they had killed many, and gotten through Petrus’s gate. Caravaggio and his friend were in a platoon of teen boys eager to fight, vultures circled above spectating. Screams cried in the distance, gradually dwindling to only the sound of the fires spreading around Petrus. As the platoon neared, most of the bandits were killed off; except one that shot an arrow that went past Caravaggio. There was an abrupt piercing sound behind Caravaggio, then the sound of a body falling on the stone ground. Distraught Caravaggio looked behind him to see what that sound was. Tears formed in Caravaggio’s eyes, his friend lie on the ground motionless. Caravaggio looked back toward the bandit; the bandit was captured by the Petrus guard, evidently he ran out of arrows. Years later Caravaggio was now seventeen, having no friends in the army, and having to always watch his back warped his personality. Extremely brutal, having a ruthless and cunning personality, and not caring for life anymore Caravaggio had nothing to hold back; his tactics in battle were near suicidal, but they worked. This quickly earned him station and power within the high ranks; even surpassing his father’s rank. Caravaggio left the military school at the age of nineteen to make his own army to help, or conquer Athera. He traveled around various places to make his army with the aid of the Kingdom of Oren. Caravaggio would go fourth into the world, ready for his destiny.
