Character’s name: Garrick Tilstromm
Character’s sex: Male
Character’s race: Human/Heartlander
Character’s age: 36
Biography : Garrick was born to a blacksmith and a tavern wench in the year 1547 in the city of Felsen. As a young boy he was fascinated with the conflict between The Holy Orenian Empire and The Empire of Vanderguan. As the soldiers marched through the streets, he would wear baskets on his head and make sticks into swords, trying to imitate the soldiers. As a teenager, he was apprentice to his father at the smithy. It was never what he wanted to do, and at any chance snuck away to train his swordsmanship so that one day he could become a soldier like the ones he saw as a child. His father knew of his plans, and knew that he could not keep him from doing what he wanted. His mother however, forbid him from joining. One warm summer day, he packed a bag and followed a group of soldiers to a staging area, where he watched them train and prepare for a battle. He followed them for days hoping for them to find some form of the enemy that they could engage. Right as it seemed all hope was lost, they were ambushed by a small group of Dwarves. During that battle, he saw exactly what he hoped; glorious combat. What he saw completely convinced him that this was what he wanted to do. When his father died from the Taint, he saw it as an opportunity to join the Imperial Legion. The fighting he partook in was not as he had imagined it would be. It was exhausting, brutal and terrifying. Five years into his service, he was gravely wounded by an arrow that stuck in his chest. Laying on the battlefield and watching his comrades die around him, he had just wished to see his father again so he could heed his warning. After exhaustively fighting the Empire of Vangerguan for 7 years, time had come to leave the Isles of Vailor, The Taint and his old life behind. When he was marching to face his new world, his attention was drawn to the fact that he hadnt seen his mother since the day he joined the legion. He promised himself that he would find her in the new world, if she made it through the portal. Settling in the new world was easy under the supervision of the Legion, but now that his service is done, he seeks a quieter life, and his mother if she even made it out of Vailor. With no remaining family or friends other than the few that he met in the legion, it was a tall task to come to a new world with nothing and look for the only thing he might have left.
Personality Traits:: Dislikes children and talkative young humans just like the ones that followed him around when he was in the legion. Also has a quiet dislike of Dwarves having fought against them for years, but will not openly admit it.
Ambitions: Desperately wants to find his mother somewhere in the world, or closure as to what happened to her. And he wants to settle down and start a family, or use his prior military knowledge to help others, provided they can pay of course.
Strengths/Talents: Having served in the Legion he was a decent swordfighter, and because of what he learned from his father he was a proficient blacksmith.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Has trouble expressing feelings and feels that people who do are weak. Often tends to hold grudges towards people who wrong him, therefor never really making any friends longterm.
Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) 5'11", messy brown neck length hair, minor scars and blemishes from years of warfare.
