Stormclank, previously known as ventios, we found the server a while ago and I decided to give it another try recently. Definitions Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: Acting as a particular character with separate thoughts, feelings and behaviour to yourself, acting as though you didn't have the knowledge you yourself do, a seperate memory for your character so your character doesn't know things they shouldn't because they haven't found it out in rp. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using powers or knowledge your character could not know or have to both make yourself better off or make others worse off. (Very similar to the last one before pending, but I know what it is, having already been accepted with another character before.) What is powergaming?: Powergaming is where you give your character unnatural abilities or completely overpower them and make them not make any sense in rp. For example my character Robert was to be stabbed in the chest, it would be powergaming not to act as if he was stabbed in the chest, not emoting any pain or a reaction. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. Character’s name: Pete Stillsburg Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Human Highlander Character’s age: 34 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Pete Stillsburg, brother to Robert Stillsburg, and son to Magdalin and Davison Stillsburg, was born in a shack in the deep forests in the north of Athera. Nothing much happened in is early childhood, his father taught him to farm, how to hunt, and how to chop down a tree safely, he was a quick learner, with a few mishaps here and there obviously. One of those mishaps would be when he chopped down a tree too close to the shack and it was completely destroyed. That was when his family decided to move to the town of Siegrad, selling their pigs and most of their belongings for an even smaller shack than they had before, in the outskirts of the town. Around the age of 19 his brother Robert had a near fatal accident with a cart, when it ran over his face, giving him a scar the size of a cart's wheel surprisingly. After this Robert became different, obviously suffering some brain damage, so Pete had to take on most of his work. He worked as a stable-hand for a couple of years, becoming a good horse trainer over time. He was now 28 years old, and his brother Robert decided to take up archery, Pete remembered previous accidents Robert had caused over the years from his practice, so he did not expect any different. I think it's fair to say that no difference came when Robert attempted to fire an arrow at a hay bale, accidentally hitting his brother Pete in the chest with the arrow. Luckily Pete survived but when he awoke from days of unconsciousness, weak and hardly able to move, his brother was already banished from the town. Pete spent the next couple of weeks recovering, but he was not allowed much more time than that. It seemed that a mass evacuation of Athera was occurring, and Pete didn't want to wait to see why. Pete made his way on one of the ships to Vailor, taking up residence in a farm working as a farmhand, earning his keep and living quarters, but he wanted more than a dead end job, he left the farm, heading for Felsen looking for work... Personality Traits: Patient, he learned that from dealing with his brother for so many years, he's smart, and knows how to use people to get what he wants. He's ambitious, but he has a realistic view of the world. Ambitions: He wants to find his place in the world, wherever it may be, he doesn't want to get bored of his life. Strengths/Talents: Strong, tough, and a good farmer. Good with animals. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Bad at writing, has a strange twitch in his left hand whenever he gets angry, even if he's trying to hide his anger. Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): 6'4, same as his brother, strong built, ugly, with scars all over his body from accidents in the stables when he was younger. Character’s name: Robert "the Thick" Stillsburg Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Human, white Character’s age: 22 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Robert Stillsburg, or "Rob the Thick" as his brothers would love to call him at the dinner table, was born in a shack in the deep forest of the north, to his Mother and Father, Magdalin and Davison Stillsburg (who are suspected to be siblings, but no evidence has been found for that). He was brought up hunting, which he wasn't good at, and farming, he didn't have the patience for that. The only thing he was any good at, and actually enjoyed was looking after their pigs, he named them, looked after them, then killed them for food when the time came. He seemed to enjoy that bit the most. When their house was destroyed from a falling tree after Rob's brother Pete chopped it down too close to the house, they sought refuge in a town called Siegrad, selling their pigs for a small shack on the outskirts, where they made a home for themselves. This was when Rob had an unfortunate accident with a passing cart, giving him a huge scar on his face and the nickname "Rob with the huge scar on his face from a cart running him over", it didn't last long for obvious reasons so people went back to calling him "Rob the Thick" again instead. Around this time he had just become 13 so his father decided to try to teach him archery again, however bad he was at hunting before, he's always got a chance of getting better right? Wrong, He kept on trying, but he was terrible, he killed one of the town's chickens, and shattered a couple of windows, so he decided to give up, spending his time carrying around supplies for the local farmer, and gained a good amount of Minas. Now at the age of 22, he decided to try archery again, this time went even worse. While practicing on a bundle of hay, missing every shot, an arrow missed completely and hit his brother Pete in the chest. Rob tried to help, but when his parents saw what he had done, they told the lord of the town, Karl Barbanov, to deal with him. The lord banished him from the town, and Rob left, leaving his past behind him, he decided now that he wanted wealth, land and power, so he could show his parents that he wasn't useless, and he was actually worth something. There was one thing he just couldn't leave behind, his good old nickname "Rob the Thick". Personality Traits: Angered easily, tries to be sly but usually ends up messing that up and just thundering in like "an Orc in a pottery store" Ambitions: To gain wealth, land and lots of women. He probably won't get the last one because of his "face rolled over by a cart when he was young" looks and "I'm going to smash something if I don't get my way" behaviour. Strengths/Talents: He's strong, good at following orders from someone he respects. Not a great leader, possibly because, well, he's a bit thick in the skull. He has a handy skill for smashing carts whenever he sees them. "I couldn't guess why, maybe it was something that happened in his childhood perhaps." Weaknesses/Inabilities: As I've said before, he's not the most clever guy, he's also what some would call "the worst archer in the bloody town!" for reasons you could probably guess. He's a bit short sighted aswell, and his left eye drifts when he's not concentrating.
