What is roleplaying?: roleplaying is acting and taking the role as the character you made (or given) inside a made-up world and playing AS THAT character, being able to talk and act through that character and going along with the story others have given to make a great roleplay experience. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is being able to use information to your advantage that your character isn't aware of yet, allowing your character to ask questions to be able to get the information that YOU know but your character doesn't know yet. EX: "I know that the orcs are going to ambush me in the southern road, so I'll take the western road." What is powergaming?: powergaming is forcing a character to do something that is unrealistic or making you always win. This is allowing the other character not being able to react because you forced a move on him/her. EX: "David Lamburg shot fireballs at Jennifer and exploded her to piecies" In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Character’s name: Gareth Wyne Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Human (Northern) Character’s age: 43 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): My name is Gareth Wyne, in my childhood I lived in the city of Abresi, a very cold and damp place it is. The streets were filled with strangers that could be killers, assassins, criminals, cultist, they can be anything! I learned that from my father who was a city guard in Abresi. He always told me to watch your back and keep an eye in your front. He taught me how to wield a sword when I was 8 and many of his friends who were guards too helped teach me on the basics of wielding a sword and holding a shield. My mother in the other hand died in a bandit attack when I was a baby, My parents were heading to Abresi to start a new life, but an arrow shot my mother in the chest; and my father knew he had to make sure I was safe and took me as far away and as close to Abresi as possible. My father worked up his way to the ranks and became an officer, I was 17 when that happen, he then gave me an iron sword and uniform and got me accepted into the city guard of Abresi just like that. I patrolled day and night and broke up fights on the streets every day, and nothing new seem to occur; but one day my father and I and a couple of men were sent to Castle Greywyn because one of our couriers were attacked by bandits near the area. When we arrived in Castle Greywyn we headed up to the keep to talk to the commanding officer or lord. But when we were half way there we heard a shout that said “FIRE!” and all of us looked around and the entire place was in flames! We saw the castle’s men running while on fire and the people screaming in fear. “We have to get out of here!” my father said and we ran to our horses and saddled up as quickly as possible. We than galloped out of the stables and hurried to the gate as my father was infront leading us but than an explosion occurred and a house burst into flames spraying wood and dirt everywhere. Than my father was hit by a flaming wooden beam that knocked him right off his horse, I had to stop but my father said “Don’t stop! Leave without me!” When I was slowing down I galloped quicker again and the first time I cried a little, but no one saw me because my helmet covered my face. When I and a couple of guards who made it went out the castle looked back and saw the entire place in flames only seeing the walls, well what’s left of it. I than said “We must go back to Abresi and tell them the news!” and we galloped away. When we got back I told the captain of the guard everything and quit my job because it was too much for me to bear. I then became a caravan guard just protecting merchants from bandits and raids, got decent pay and enough to buy a house in Kingston. I always remembered my father as being my hero and always teaching me to have more pride than to have more wealth. I than found my dream that I wanted to be something my father would be proud of! I wanted to protect the people and the weak; I wanted to be a hero that doesn’t need a legendary name or sword! I will do it for my father as he would do the same. I trained day and night learning the art of the sword and quickly became skilled at it. As I was looking for my old saddle that I used when I was a city guard I found a note in it, when I opened it, it was message from my father. “Dear son, I know we haven’t had much time to talk or play your games when you were little, but I tried to do my best to be a fun of a father as possible. I only wish was to make YOU proud of me and to have a normal life like every kid would have. You don’t need to be great or strong, or even the king of an kingdom! The only thing I want you to be is being happy, I wish you had kids of your own and if you do, make sure to spend as much time as you can as if it’s the last day you will ever live. I than cried while reading it and told myself that my only goal I need to do is protect the people and I looked out my window as the sun was shining and the birds were singing. “It’s time for a new adventure to begin…” Personality Traits: Gareth is a strong man, who is very loyal to anybody who lead and is kind to mostly anybody. He loves talking to people and loves animals. Ambitions: His goal is to be a protector of the people and server any lord and king. Strengths/Talents: He is very skillful with a sword and is strong. He is not that smart but is smart enough to tell if your a liar or not. He knows how to use every weapon except bows and can survive harsh winters (because he lived as an Abresi City Guard) and he has good armour Weaknesses/Inabilities: He is slow and is emotional when it comes to his father, he is no very flexible because of his armor, He also hates anything that is a spider like BIG SPIDERS. Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Gareth is 6'2 tall and weighs about 153 lbs he is very strong and has a fit body, his hair is light brown and is short, his eyes are blue but he wears thick iron armor and helmet that covers his face.
