Remembering
Rhewen Frostbeard
None were prepared for the day Rhewen died, as to many within the Frostbeards, he was untouchable, someone who everyone silently agreed could and would live forever. Yet only a few stone days ago, the Gods called him to their side, a dwed who exemplified what it meant to be one of Urguan’s Folk, and the dwed who shaped the Frostbeards into what they are today.
Ever since his death the entirety of the Clan, myself included, have been in a constant state of mourning. Despite a failed attempt to retrieve his remains from the Ratiki-infested Luciensburg, we find solace in knowing his remains were burned, allowing his soul to reach the Gods above. Rhewen single handedly shaped the Frostbeard Clan into what it is today. While Kaz’Ulrah and Karl are significant names to our people, Rhewen was the one to truly establish our culture, to combine our past traditions in the desolate mountains with the bustling city-living of the Grand Kingdom.
Under his guidance, the Clan became one of the largest and most renowned in recent history; a line of Grand Kings, councillors, marshalls, and Rhewen himself making Urguan into an empire. Despite the rebellions experienced by some wayward members of the Clan, Rhewen consistently continued to fight for Urguan’s name and image, showing the nature of true Frostbeards.
As a Grand King and Grand Emperor, Rhewen showed his people how to lead as a true representative of their wants and needs. He didnt allow others to influence his views, instead he led the Empire through the 18 Year’s War into victory. He restored the Obsidian Throne from the hands of the Ironborn, and was crowned the true successor of Urguan by one of his direct descendants, on Urguan’s Throne, with Urguan’s Crown.
His achievements have proven to be unrivaled since, and his teachings, legend, and values shall continue to live on through his descendants and the entirety of the Grand Kingdom.
Signed by,
Azkel Frostbeard, eldest son of Rhewen

The typically cheery nature of Azkel would have faded upon hearing the news, his soul now empty with the loss of his biggest supporter- his father. Having not left his house for the past Stone Day, it is unsure if he will ever return to his old self, or if this loss is enough to cripple an already broken dwed.

THE GRAND ARCHITECT COMPETITION
The Grand Kingdom of Urguan has for centuries filled the position of Grand Architect with the greatest Architects known to Urguan’s Folk. These individuals were responsible for developing cities, preparing defenses, and managing any other builds required by the crown.
Since Balek Irongut’s retirement from the position, none have managed to fill the role for a lasting time. With the crowning of a new Grand King, the position shall be revitalized, and with such, a new Grand Architect shall be chosen. To ensure that only the best fill the position, a competition has been called to test the skills of the Dwed and our vassals who believe they could fill the position.
SECTION I: THE COMPETITION
The Competition for Grand Architect shall last one stone week from this announcement. Within that stone week, Dwed must create a build/design of dwarven nature, ranging anywhere from a single building to a dwarven city. Individuals who apply should also have city planning abilities.

THE GRAND KINGDOM OF URGUAN
ELECTION
With the recent announcement of Grand King Norli Starbreaker’s descension from the throne, the Council of Urguan acted quickly to begin the election process. Only a stone day ago, the Council passed a new Voting Reforms Act, declared Lord Chancellor Azkel Frostbeard Regent, and nominated 3 dwed to campaign for the title of Grand King: Alaric Grimgold, Dorimnur Goldhand, & Levian’Tol Grandaxe.
With the nominations complete and Urguan’s Folk ready to choose their new Grand King, I, Lord Regent Azkel Frostbeard, hereby declare the start of the Election. This election shall run from today, the 1st of The First Seed, 27 SA, to a Stone Week from now.
SECTION I: THE NOMINEES
For those unaware of how the election process works, to run for Grand King, one must be nominated by a Council-recognized Clan of Urguan. Listed below are the Clans, and their respective nominations (note, that a nomination does not mean the clan shall vote entirely for the individual):
Clan Starbreaker: Levian’Tol Grandaxe
Clan Irongut: Abstained
Clan Frostbeard: Abstained
Clan Irongrinder: Abstained
Clan Ireheart: Abstained
Clan Doomforged: Levian’Tol Grandaxe
Clan Grimgold: Alaric Grimgold
Clan Grandaxe: Levian’Tol Grandaxe
Clan Goldhand: Dorimnur Goldhand
Clans of Hefrumm: Levian’Tol Grandaxe
With said nominations complete, the nominees have gotten to work on their campaigning, outlining their platform for the Dwarven people to understand what said individuals may achieve as Grand King. Below are 5 points outlining the nominee’s campaign promises:
Alaric Grimgold:
As King, I would further the infrastructure pushed by my Clan and those of our allies. More public farms for use, more railways to facilitate our travel, and a working ferry system at our southern port.
As King, I would seek to strengthen the defenses of Urguan by providing a fort and rapid route to get there in each demarcation of land we own. Additionally, a council of our most respected war veterans would be assembled to aid the Grand Marshal.
As King, I would not bring Urguan into any defensive alliances until we are able to stand upon our own two feet again. We have a network of vassals to call upon, but we can do more to strengthen our own nation and their settlements.
As King, I would treat the entire nation as if they were my family, removing my Mask upon all sovereign grounds touched by the Grey and Orange of our banner. No clan would be seen as above the other, and any would be able to openly bring forward concerns or suggestions of the path of the kingdom.
As King, I intend to make no promises I cannot keep and serve with the honor I have been known for in my century of service to our glorious nation. Our nation is only as strong as the hard working Dwarves who it is composed of, but such a nation deserves a King who will maintain its honor.
Dorimnur Goldhand:
As King, I would transform my success in creating the realm’s largest worker’s force to the Grand Kingdom as a whole.
As King, I would revitalize Dwarven craftsdwedship to new heights, bringing back our cultural crafts which have rivaled the other races for centuries. Lost arts which we had used to take pride in creating will be restored, and in such, will bring about a new cultural age for the Dwed.
As King, I would strengthen the connection between Guilds and the Council of Urguan. Guilds are the backbone of our people, and are just as representative of Urguan’s Folk as the clans themselves.
As King, I will prioritize expanding our internal infrastructure, including the expansion of our mines, railways, city utilities, vassal holds, & guild capabilities.
As King, and as a nominee, I will not make any promises I cannot keep. Kings of the past have failed to live up to campaign promises, and even things proclaimed during their reign. Under my rule, my word will be upheld, and my promises shall be as well, as seen in my past half-century of servitude for the Kingdom.
Levian’Tol Grandaxe:
As King, I will ensure the Book of Grudges is held to the highest standard, and its grudges properly marked out for Dwed to see for centuries.
As King, I will expand on Norli’s vassalage work, a task which I assisted in during my time as Grand Steward. Vassals deserve to have a voice in our government, and I shall create a system which gives them such.
As King, I will ensure that the new generations of younger dwed have their voices heard in the Kingdom’s government.
As King, I will not keep secrets from the Council or Urguan’s Folk. I will rule with transparency to best ensure that my actions speak for Urguan as a whole.
As King, I will expand our diplomacy to smaller settlements and nations, rather than attempting larger alliances with their larger counterparts. Assisting these groups is essential in developing a long-lasting peace, and through our partnership, we can help others thrive.
SECTION II: VOTING
The voting process is one that aims to be used primarily by the active members of Urguan’s Folk. With the passing of the Voting Reforms Act, all outlined requirements on the document shall be used in this election as well. To see such requirements, said Act has been attached:
https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/202462-the-voting-reform-act/
Voting shall last for a Stone Week, and who one votes for shall be kept private. Narvok oz Urguan, Narvok oz da Grand King.
((OOC REQUIREMENTS))
You may only vote on one persona, aka one vote per ooc person.
The election shall last from today, June 4th, until June 11th.
A vote may be changed up until the end of the election.
The votes shall be counted by myself and the nominees, and will be approved by a council vote once finished.
The king’s coronation shall be scheduled once the voting is complete.
The voting rules on the Voting Rights Act shall be the official voting rules of the election irp. All votes will be approved or thrown out based on that, or an ooc requirement.
The winning candidate will be based on a simple majority.

If using the Guild activity requirement, list which guild. If you are unsure if you are on your clan list, ask your Clan Lord, or myself. If you have no idea what the activity requirement is, check the Voting Reforms Act page, linked above. You only need 1 of the 4 options.

DECLARATION OF REGENCY
With Grand King Norli Starbreaker descending from his position, a new election has been declared to fill the vacancy on the Obsidian Throne. Yet due to the lengthy process of said election, a Lord Regent has been declared to preside over the process with an impartial view, all while managing the Grand Kingdom until the election is finalized. As written in the Articles of Urguan, the Lord Chancellor is automatically declared Regent unless the Council chooses otherwise.
With no objections from the Council at the recent meeting, Lord Chancellor Azkel Frostbeard has been named Lord Regent until the election is concluded. The Lord Regent shall be required to follow all standards set forth in the Articles, and shall hold off on all important decisions until a new Grand King is crowned. Upon the crowning of the new Grand King, the Regency shall be voided, and the Lord Chancellor shall resume his typical duties.

THE VOTING REFORMS ACT
With the disastrous election process seen during the election of Grand King Norli Starbreaker, a new round of voting reforms was called for by both Clans and individuals alike. In the new Voting Reforms Act, the previously seen problems of the old voting format shall be fixed and reworked, ensuring that only actively participating members of Urguan can vote for the Grand King who will represent them.
SECTION I: THE DWARVEN CENSUS
With concerns of random Dwed who show up, vote, then vanish as seen in the previous elections, a Dwarven Census has been established to ensure only active members of Urguan’s folk can vote for the Grand King. To even be considered, one must be active PRIOR to the Grand King stepping down, meaning any following requirements shall have to have been completed prior to the Grand King publicly stepping down, unless stated otherwise. Alongside the initial requirement, one must also:
I. BE of Urguan’s Folk.
a.Honorary Dwed recognized by Urguan’s council may count under Urguan’s Folk.
b.Dwed must be of at least 30 years of age.
II. HAVE been active for 4 stone hours in the stone week prior to the election concluding.
III. HAVE been in Urguan’s lands for at least 2 stone weeks prior to the Grand King stepping down.
a.((The Persona must have been made at least 2 weeks prior)).
IV. BE an active member of the Grand Kingdom.
a.To be considered active, at least one of the following must apply:
i. Own a Home in Urguan.
a. Said homes are required to have been managed by Urguani stewards, therefore, homes in vassal holds do not qualify.
ii. Be an active member of an Urguani Guild.
a. Guildmasters will be required to vouch for a member being active.
iii. Be an active member of the Urguani Legion.
a. The Grand Marshal will be required to vouch for a member being active.
iv. Be an active member of an Urguani Clan.
a. Clan leaders shall provide the Council with a list of active members.
b. The Council shall approve or disapprove of the list, with a majority vote holding the ability to disqualify certain members from being considered active.
SECTION II: COUNTING THE VOTE
To solidify the votes recorded by the masses, the Lord Regent holds the primary duty of ensuring all votes follow the outlined guidelines. Throughout the counting process, the Urguani Council recognizes the following:
I. IF an unbreakable tie is the only foreseeable outcome, a council of 5 unanimously approved elder dwed shall convene to decide who is elected Grand King.
a. Those who are tied for Grand King and the Lord Regent shall be the individuals who choose the 5 dwed.
b. The majority vote of the 5 dwed shall be the tiebreaking vote.
II. THE Lord Regent shall hold final say in deciding which votes are approved, alongside the guidance of those running in the election.
a. If the count is believed to be incorrect, those running may request for the council as a whole to recount the entire vote, and vote on its approval.
b. The individuals running for Grand King may petition for an individual’s vote to be counted, even if they do not meet requirements. For such to pass, all parties must be in unanimous agreement.
III. WHO one voted for shall remain private, unless a Council revote is required.
Lord Chancellor of Urguan, Elder of Clan Frostbeard,
Master of the Order of Remembrance
