  1. personally i’d prefer it if the lt could redo the system and, instead of letting one big lore daddy write it, form a diversified team so that it isn’t defined by one person’s view of the void-- because really, that’s where the problem originates. everyone has their own vision for what the void should be like, you can even see it in this thread.

imo, neither one of these iterations would be decisively better than the other. i don’t like how tox’s rewrite forces this weird headache after connection is severed, and that it doesn’t let you cast with your hands bound, but i also dislike the fact that phil’s practically forces the ‘you’re weak and helpless in melee’ concept because, despite how unpopular the concept seems to be, i enjoy playing a mage who can incorporate their spells into melee combat.

tldr neither rewrite is perfect, create a new one and dont let one person make it

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

An iron disc, covered in golden plates. It is completely flat, and its surface is covered in intricate engravings which resemble a gust of wind flowing in a circular pattern. When the phrase ‘Let’s start a storm!’ is uttered in its vicinity, a teal light begins to pulsate through the engravings, and it becomes the focal point of the ‘Tornado’ spell. Due to the spell requiring two casters, this has no effect unless the person who activated it begins casting the same spell in tandem with the object. If they do so, the spell takes [5] emotes to charge, following the guidelines of the Tornado spell as found on the Air Evocation guide.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

This artifacts acts as the secondary caster when one casts the Tornado spell, as found in the air evocation guide.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

The artifact follows every redline in the Tornado spell, as found in the air evocation guide. Additionally, the caster must be the one to activate the artifact.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

The artifact essentially does what a secondary caster would do in the casting of the Tornado spell, creating a current of wind which flows upwards in a circular motion. This allows the caster to create an identical current which flows in the opposite direction, thus creating a tornado.

Number of duplicates of this Artifact:

             One

Do you agree to keep the MT updated on the whereabouts and ownership of this Artifact by using the Magic List Errors?:

             I do

Have you applied for this Artifact before, and had it denied? If so, link the app:

             I have not

If not, then I shall say this. Farrador will not partake in the murder of innocents, for they are more than the dishonourable name that Haelun’or bares upon them.

Lilach reads this sentence once, then twice, then thrice. She then seeks out an optometrist, reasoning to herself that she likely just needs a pair of reading glasses.
