The Red Brothers of Norland Amidst the icy shores of Norland, the brothers gathered. A call to arms was heard across Frostholm, Seaholm, and all other minor provinces that dotted the island. The time to assemble, had finally come. The brothers piled into their ships, and sailed off for mainland Valior, ready to defend their honest folk. The Band of Brothers was formed, ready to dedicate their entirety of being to ensuring the safety of their populace, and to protect Norland's interests within mainland Valior. The Band is headed by a Champion whom would pave the path for his comrades to honor and glory. The Champion is selected among a Council of Eight. This council is made up of the most distinguished, and decorated warriors within the Band. From there, they decide a Champion to lead them on the battle-field.All those who join the Band, will be granted a homestead, food, and armaments to supply them in defense of their comrades.Should the Band succeed in a battle, they will dine in the Great Hall with one another, and any allies present. This usually leads to brawls, drunken speeches, and a jolly good time. Should the Band lose a battle, they will honor the fallen comrades in battle, and pray to the All-father for their safe arrival in the seven skies.Once you join the Band, you may not leave without honorable discharge. Should you desert the band, your character is subject to the PK clause agreed upon in the application. This is to be RP'd as you being hunted down by your comrades, and slain. Rules You may not attack fellow brothers.You may not harm Norland or it's people.You may not take slaves.You may not leave without an honorable discharge, you will be hunted down otherwise.Follow all orders from your superior brothers. This is to keep unity and a level-head. Ranking and Infrastructure The brothers have a very simplistic ranking system, and is based around merit, not any form of noble entitlement. You are promoted based on performance, dedication, and going above and beyond for the brotherhood. Champion The Champion is the leader of the Brothers. He leads the offensive and defensive interests of Norland on mainland Valior. He's also in charge of commanding the entirety of Norland's Nation Army. The current champion is Bjorn, "Gruff" Rayecksson. Veteran A veteran within the brotherhood is in charge of three other battle-brothers. A Veteran commands a squad of Red Brothers, of which he may name accordingly. There may be no more than eight Veterans at any given time, as a Veteran is granted a position on the Council of Eight. Warrior The warrior is the bread-and-butter brother within the band. They ensure the Brothers are kept safe, and are on the vanguard when pushing into large-scale fights. They're distinguished men whom have turned the tide of battle in more times than one. Initiate The Initiate is the newcomer to the band. They work towards proving themselves on the battle-field and will often times take unnecessary risks to do so. (With appropriate RP backing this.) We don't do this to limit RP, we do this to enforce an environment akin to what we expect of any of our lads joining, and to ensure our rules are followed. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): It was a bright summer day when Killo Bumblebottom came into the world! The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and a small crowd had gathered around the Bumblebottom Hole to see the newborn Halfling. His name was Kilo, and he had bright shiny blonde hair. The child grew at an alarming rate, highly intelligent, and surpassing all his peers in his intellectual field. Eventually, Bumblebottom grew up and was able to leave Gimblewood and set off on a journey! On his journey, he met many people. A bright chipper wood-elf playing a harp near an Inn, a tall knight with the colors of gold and black across his cloak, and then as his journey was to come to a close, he met an Olog. This Olog was not your typical Olog. It seemed to fancy Killo, and referred to him as his child. The Olog took him up, and rode him across his shoulder. Killo was obviously startled by this, hearing rumors of Uruk tearing his kin to shreds, he knew there was not much he could do to escape this Olog's clutches. He simply allowed it to be, as the Olog carried him to desert. Killo was set down in a small cage, and left there for awhile. After a period of time, Killo was released by a Dark-Elf captive, and he ran as fast as his little Halfling legs could carry him! He finally had returned home to Gimblewood, only to hear his parents had died, and his property repossessed. Knowing he had no home, Killo went back to adventuring, to see the world for himself! Personality Traits: Ambitious, Free-spirited, Desire to adventure, Passion for the assimilation of knowledge. Ambitions: Desire to adventure, read, and enjoy life. Strengths/Talents: Has an affinity for shovels, can read at a high level, has a innate ability for survival. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Lacks the courage to resist oppressors, lacks a high physical strength, lacks disciple of any form.
