u used pex to warp to the druids’ build world, burned many of their items on the “second offense” and u were punished for it

idc if u didnt know u were on the build world or not, u still took items from the build world and burned them, so u got what was coming to u on this one lol

was told to throw them in lava by a mod manager. nice.

  2. So as most of you already know a few weeks ago I got banned for three months and staff blacklisted (presumably permanently? Idk i didn’t get a timeframe), and since the admin vote resulted in the refusal to lift my ban I figured I’d make a forum post because I feel that I’m rightfully upset. I always found myself to be an active and generally constructive member of this community, and was banned for something that is so minor and inconsequential that I feel like I’m literally just being used as an example to set a precedent for the new mod manager. It’s like I was the unlucky one caught in the crossfire and got stupidly fucked over. Don’t worry about having a lot of reading to do in terms of my explanation for my ban, it’s pretty concise and clear cut.

About 6 months ago me and two others were all running around stealing **** because we were bored at around 3 AM. Now pay close attention here, as this is our only fuckup, we warped to the druids to steal from them as opposed to running on foot. The issue here is that we accidentally warped to the druid nation in the build world rather than the actual nation (there is no warning or notice whatsoever telling you this unless you check the region). At the time that this happened, the druid’s warp to the build world was /warp druid and to get to the actual nation it was /warp nationdruid; this was also during the lagpocalypse when running places was literally torturous. Players mixed these up very often, and the warps were changed soon after the night that we all went there. Now, we eventually got into a house and entered the storage area beneath it and every chest was unlocked. Understandably, we were flipping out because these chests contained original copies of books dating back to Athera, Anthos, et cetera. We stashed as many as we could and got the **** out before we were caught and potentially lost our progress. Keep in mind, we still had NO IDEA WE WERE IN THE BUILD WORLD, which is why **** was unlocked.

About 2 months later I’m in the druid build world taking **** again, UNKNOWING THAT I’M IN THE BUILD WORLD, when something came to mind. Pretty quickly I realized that the entire tile was unlocked and I was stealing a ton of ****, so much so that I returned a good amount of it because the occurrence was so surreal and I felt like a horrible person. I spoke to ImCookiie, who was a moderator at the time, and Archipelego (who was very disappointed with me from robbing his druid fellas), and promptly realized I was in the build world like the dumbass I am. Immediately, I thought of the books we had stolen months beforehand. I brought up the situation to Zach, who was a mod and participated in the book robbery the night that it happened, and he looked into it briefly before determining that we were in fact in the build world and he promptly returned or burned every item we had stolen, thus amending our potentially-massive fuckup. All the **** I took on the second offense was burned.

Then, here I am a few months later, receiving a notification from Rift about a staff blacklist for “grossly” abusing my pex and then a ban immediately after for “Staff misconduct, Pex abuse, and Exploitation of glitches.”

    What?

I made a harmless mistake and then fixed said harmless mistake when I realized I had made a fuckup, and I’m being blacklisted and banned for it? How is it a “gross” abuse of pex for me to accidentally warp to the wrong place then realize I messed up and undo everything that I did wrong. I feel like acknowledging that I screwed up and fixing my mistakes is more of a display of integrity than one that you’d consider “gross”.

Understandably I’m pissed off, and yeah: I know three months is not a horrible ban. I can deal with a three month ban with no issue. The problem is the impression it leaves on me on the server and the fact that relative to the **** that so many staff pull on a daily basis my offenses are extremely minor. The only thing I truly did wrong was warping to the druids as opposed to going on foot. Being on the ST was a staple for me playing on the server. I didn’t host any events for a while leading up to my ban, but I was still participating in a few projects that would soon be launched and it sucks to have all that taken away from me for a simple misunderstanding. Bullshit like this is why so many people are driven away from LoTC.

Some of you might also be thinking that my punishment for ‘staff misconduct’ is pertaining to having LSD in my username. However, I think others can vouch for me in the fact that I was the first one to have LSD in my username (TriLSD sounds like Try LSD and I found that username worthy), and have absolutely no correlation to the ‘LSD Gang’ that has been going around pugsying people. They literally just grabbed my idea for a username then began doing stupid ****, which was not the plan on my end and I do not condone any of this behavior. (SpleenLSD and BudgieLSD also have nothing to do with the pugsies and they changed their usernames like mine immediately after I did it because they found it funny)

I chose not to mention him too much because I’m not sure if he’d want me to, but Zach, a long time member of the community, was banned and blacklisted for stealing the books with me, then unbanned a few days after while my ban was not lifted.

But yeah, thanks for reading I guess. I know this might come across as immature, but I’m just kinda upset and feel pretty betrayed after being a stable member of this community for so long and really wanted to get a rant off my chest to the community and find out if I’m actually in the wrong and just have severely skewed logic or something because I’m genuinely questioning myself.

I have screenshots proving just about everything I said here, many of which being on the dates that I stole from the build world, but I don’t want to go through the trouble of digging them up considering I already showed them to the admins and apparently it wasn’t quite enough to prove my innocence, from their perspective (which is honestly complete bullshit). I find this especially ridiculous after the long talks I had with a few of them, in which I was apologized to for the situation, but still not unbanned???

Regardless I’m probably done with the server. The administration is embarrassing except for one or two members and I’d rather focus on myself than continue to waste time here. Thanks to all the nice members of the community that I met on the way 🙂 Maybe I’ll be back in a few months but I really hope I’ve finally moved on.

  3. “Huh. . .” Droch aptly uttered out upon catching wind of the death, albeit a bit later than most others. He wasn’t much for current events, after all.

He peered over at his father with a dim frown, and while the cold half-elf did not find the occasion anywhere near worthy of a shed tear, he did begrudgingly make a remark in regard to the shade’s passing, “This is strange. I have always been numb to these things, but. . . I rather liked the boy.”

  4. MC Name: TheTri

    Character's Name: Hiren

    Character's Age: 90

Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable):

             Mixed Elf

    Transformed form:

             Phantom

    Creator's MC Name:

             N/A

    Creator's RP Name:

             N/A

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Phantoms are effectively souls, often times those which have suffered a tragic death, which are unable to pass into the afterlife, whether this be do to sheer force of will, trauma, or great tragedy. These creatures are composed entirely of a strange metaphysical substance known as ectoplasm. The material is strangely malleable and tends to flicker in and out of visibility to the phantom’s will. Void-born magics and aurum are both able to interact with it akin to any other material object, while others will simply phase through. There are 4 types of phantoms: Revenants, Gravens, Poltergeists, and Specters. Revenants are the product of stranded souls for the first year (1 IRL week) after their reawakening. They are white in hue and completely oblivious to the fact that they have died before. Once a revenant becomes aware of their death, however, they transition into one of the other three archetypes.

The first archetype, the graven, is very simple and focused. Gravens are husks of their previous selves, having little purpose or depth save for a single goal which they could not reach during their life. They will brainlessly pursue this goal for their entirety of their existence as a ghost.

Specters are the second. They are ghosts, generally tinted blue, and pass into their existence as a ghost with relative ease. At least, compared to gravens and the third archetypes, poltergeists

Poltergeists are red beings of pure and unbridled RAGE. They are not happy that they died and do not come to terms with their death and will do everything in their power to make sure the whole world knows that.

Despite their differences these three types of phantom fellas do have their similarities. All ghosts are plagued by some severe mental illness which can include anything from bipolar depression to PTSD

Specters and poltergeists can undergo “shifting polarities”. When they approach some sort of extreme circumstance that falters their impression of their death/life as a ghost they can turn from one form to another.

Ghosts can not pass solid aurum lines.

They can pass aurum dust but will flicker into visibility.

  5. Can somebody explain to me why all people do is complain about how villains doing killing roleplay is bad but as soon as we move to something that actually offers a significant conseqeunce and/or development as opposed to murdering a character the victim with a missing eye or limb, who was fully capable of participating in combat with several severe fleshwounds and broken bones beforehand, suddenly becomes as delicate as a flower and dies of “shock” or some bullshit stroke. It’s pretty annoying and scummy, and quite honestly I feel like purposefully dying to be respawned at monks with no repercussions should be considered meta or a force PK. There are even times somebody will have their eyes/arm removed and then be HEALED specifically so that they don’t die but have to RP the consequences but they SOMEHOW end up dying anyway only to be revived with a new, fresh arm/eye.

MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

Within your hands rests an unassuming, jet-black necklace with a small, underwhelming black opal gem melded into its end. Should one equip this necklace to their person and proceed to fall asleep or be rendered unconscious, they will be met with the unrelenting, lucid nightmares of the voidal horrors who follow the behemoth Osghoddos. The victim will find them self unable to rid them self of this torturous dream unless awoken from the outside world. From the pendant emanates an aura of dread and helplessness.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

When placed around the neck of somebody who is unconscious, this pendant will make the wearer vulnerable to the nightmares experienced by Unsound Mages.

They will be subject to torture by the horrors, whether that be beatings, stabbing, or ear-piercing screams and other sensory overloads. They are completely lucid during the nightmare, however trapped in the dreamlike state unless 1 hour passes, somebody in the real world harms them, the necklace is removed, or they are woken up deliberately by somebody. While in the nightmare state, however, a large block blotch of taint will appear on their solar plexus. The void is a chaotic landscape, and as such many phenomena in the nightmare do not correlate with those in real life. This, combined with the fact that it is still just a dream, allows for almost anything to happen to the target. Time in the void flows irregularly, so if, for example, the horrors are torturing a target, they might feel as though they are being tortured for hours on end despite only a single second passing in the real world.

The victim is, again, completely lucid. Despite consciously knowing that they are in a nightmare, they will be unable to wake up and will feel the pain of everything done to them. When they wake up, this physical pain will completely fade, leaving behind only potential mental repercussions.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    - Can not be used in combat

    - Any harm done to the person in the nightmare does not translate to real life

    - The effect expires after 1 IRP hour, pain is inflicted upon the target in the real world, the pendant is removed, or they are woken up (shaking  them, dumping cold water on them, etc.)

    - People can not be killed in the Nightmare, else they will wake up

    - The taint that appears on their torso is strictly temporary and will recede when the pendant is removed.

    - Since the pendant is not actually using any mana, and rather exploiting its inherent qualities, it does not run out of use.

    - Even if the user PM’s the effects of the necklace, to the target in question, they are not in control of it. They will be expected to make a genuine landscape with some aspects other than eternally stabbing a target while time is in slow motion with no detail or flavor whatsoever.

    - If the victim has a substantial amount of Mage Gold on their person, the item will not function.

    - The pendant does not put you to sleep. It can merely be applied to somebody who is either asleep or unconscious.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

Similarly to voidal enchanting, the item in question was produced by projecting an Unsound Mage’s distorted mana into an object, thus creating a “tainted” mana gem, of sorts. Such was accomplished by forcing mana into the black opal gem using the Behemoth ‘chlubb as a middle man (such is the foundation of all Unsound casting), when calling forth the mana intended for to be imbued in the object.

As opposed to following the next step of regular Transfiguration and assigning a function to the mana gem, however, this distorted mana within the gem exhibited inherent qualities that could be inflicted upon an individual while they were sleeping; this is because such is the time when one’s mind is most vulnerable to exploitation. Exposure to and contact with this disrupted mana while sleeping will cause one to experience visions from the Behemoth and his horrors similarly to what is suffered by an Unsound Mage. Should they be wearing the pendant while asleep, they will not only have a temporary black splotch of taint about the size of a soccer ball manifested upon their torso in representation of the Behemoth’s presence upon them, but will also be subject to the torturous, life-like nightmares of the horrors. The horrors harass them in the  chaotic, fluctuating landscape of the void, often deliberately harming them or merely overwhelming their senses with screams and hallucinations. Unsound mages experience the same effects due to their connection to the behemoth, however untrained minds will potentially be traumatized by the experience.

The Unsound Mage is the one responsible for PM’ing emotes of the nightmares landscape and the horrors to the person in question.

This bends lore in the fact that it does not state at any point in Unsound Magic lore that the disturbed, Behemoth-manipulated mana can be projected into an object, though also does not state at any point that it behaves differently from regular mana save for the unique spells that it gives access to in the magic.

Number of duplicates of this Artifact:

             None

Do you agree to keep the MT updated on the whereabouts and ownership of this Artifact by using the Magic List Errors?:

             Yes

Have you applied for this Artifact before, and had it denied? If so, link the app:

             no

OOC: I am reposting it because I self-denied the first time, however Blair found the pendant on Hiren’s body while burrying him, so I figured it would be logical for her to have the RP item even though it was never officially accpeted.

  7. [!] Scattered about various nations are large posters with words inscribed in thick white ink upon them

It’s mating season for all those slitherin’ snakes out there, and as such it is the perfect time of year for my wife, Mrs. Jillian Huck, to brew up some of her world famous ‘Momma’s Snake Egg Soup’! Catching rattlers and all the ordinary garden snakes is easy even for us old geezers, but Jill and I aren’t quite in our primes any more, so we need Your help getting our final ingredient: Three Basilisk eggs! Like all children, these wee-little eggs are gonna be protected by a few not-so-wee-little snake parents!

Where can ya’ find em? (Location)

Well, we’ll tell ya’ once we meet at the Cloud Temple!

How Dangerous are they? (Threat Level)

They got venom in their jaws and are bigger than a house! I think that’s enough said. (Difficult, 4-10 recommended. Intensive planning required)

    What d’ya get?! (Reward)

Each participant gets a bowl of Momma’s Snake egg Soup & about five hundred minas! Y’all should be thankin’ us! Our pockets are shallow nowadays!

~I drew up a little picture for y’all, just so y’know quite what you’re getting in to. These fellas are quite dangerous if you ain’t sneaky. Not only are they long, but smart as a motherfucker too! I heard they live in pairs durin’ mating season. . .~~

Hey guys. If interested in the event contact me on discord @ TheTri#2830 & we can schedule a time and go over specifics. First come first serve.

  8. A particular, Krugmar-hardened man by the name Vanrael Uialben inevitably caught wind of his father’s passing. Despite holding the man with relative distaste, he found himself lost in his thoughts, staring fiercely at a wall. His gauntleted fist crumpled into a tight ball at his side as Van’s heritage-based, unbridled anger surfaced for the first time in years. He bit down hard on his lip, crimson liquid beginning to drip from it as the elf absolutely seethed with fury at the news off his father’s death.

“Who did this to you, father. . . ?”

A marching elf would gasp as Mystery’s soul drifted toward his own. If he could, he’d lift a hand to wave, or call out to him in order to halt the deceased entity in its tracks; though, despite what the desperate, hell-damned soul attempted, the soul of Terr’hi Uialben drifted onward. He would be finding himself landing in a much more suitable place in the afterlife, one belonging only to the kings. Even when he no longer knew it to bee possible, the deceased spirit of Hiren Taliame crumpled to his knees and wept in a place that only the cosmos and other tainted souls could see. The desert was little when it came to shattering the elf’s spirits, but seeing the passing of his closest friend was a trauma.

“H-He took you too. . . What is going on up there?!”
