MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

Within your hands rests an unassuming, jet-black necklace with a small, underwhelming black opal gem melded into its end. Should one equip this necklace to their person and proceed to fall asleep or be rendered unconscious, they will be met with the unrelenting, lucid nightmares of the voidal horrors who follow the behemoth Osghoddos. The victim will find them self unable to rid them self of this torturous dream unless awoken from the outside world. From the pendant emanates an aura of dread and helplessness.

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

When placed around the neck of somebody who is unconscious, this pendant will make the wearer vulnerable to the nightmares experienced by Unsound Mages.

They will be subject to torture by the horrors, whether that be beatings, stabbing, or ear-piercing screams and other sensory overloads. They are completely lucid during the nightmare, however trapped in the dreamlike state unless 1 hour passes, somebody in the real world harms them, the necklace is removed, or they are woken up deliberately by somebody. While in the nightmare state, however, a large block blotch of taint will appear on their solar plexus. The void is a chaotic landscape, and as such many phenomena in the nightmare do not correlate with those in real life. This, combined with the fact that it is still just a dream, allows for almost anything to happen to the target. Time in the void flows irregularly, so if, for example, the horrors are torturing a target, they might feel as though they are being tortured for hours on end despite only a single second passing in the real world.

The victim is, again, completely lucid. Despite consciously knowing that they are in a nightmare, they will be unable to wake up and will feel the pain of everything done to them. When they wake up, this physical pain will completely fade, leaving behind only potential mental repercussions.

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    - Can not be used in combat

    - Any harm done to the person in the nightmare does not translate to real life

    - The effect expires after 1 IRP hour, pain is inflicted upon the target in the real world, the pendant is removed, or they are woken up (shaking  them, dumping cold water on them, etc.)

    - People can not be killed in the Nightmare, else they will wake up

    - The taint that appears on their torso is strictly temporary and will recede when the pendant is removed.

    - Since the pendant is not actually using any mana, and rather exploiting its inherent qualities, it does not run out of use.

    - Even if the user PM’s the effects of the necklace, to the target in question, they are not in control of it. They will be expected to make a genuine landscape with some aspects other than eternally stabbing a target while time is in slow motion with no detail or flavor whatsoever.

    - If the victim has a substantial amount of Mage Gold on their person, the item will not function

    - The pendant does not put you to sleep. It can merely be applied to somebody who is either asleep or unconscious.

Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

Similarly to voidal enchanting, the item in question was produced by projecting an Unsound Mage’s distorted mana into an object, thus creating a “tainted” mana gem, of sorts. Such was accomplished by forcing mana into the black opal gem using the Behemoth ‘chlubb as a middle man (such is the foundation of all Unsound casting), when calling forth the mana intended for to be imbued in the object.

As opposed to following the next step of regular Transfiguration and assigning a function to the mana gem, however, this distorted mana within the gem exhibited inherent qualities that could be inflicted upon an individual while they were sleeping; this is because such is the time when one’s mind is most vulnerable. Exposure to and contact with this disrupted mana while sleeping will cause one to experience visions from the Behemoth and his horrors similarly to what is suffered by an Unsound Mage. Should they be wearing the pendant while asleep, they will not only have a temporary black splotch of taint about the size of a soccer ball manifested upon their torso in representation of the Behemoth’s presence upon them, but will also be subject to the torturous, life-like nightmares of the horrors. The horrors harass them in the  chaotic, fluctuating landscape of the void, often deliberately harming them or merely overwhelming their senses with screams and hallucinations. Unsound mages experience the same effects due to their connection to the behemoth, however untrained minds will potentially be traumatized by the experience.

The Unsound Mage is the one responsible for PM’ing emotes of the nightmares landscape and the horrors to the person in question.

This bends lore in the fact that it does not state at any point in Unsound Magic lore that the disturbed, Behemoth-manipulated mana can be projected into an object, though also does not state at any point that it behaves differently from regular mana save for the unique spells that it gives access to in the magic.

  3. Hiren read his letter a few times over before, like all of his belongings, it would miraculously disappear into thin air,.

However, rather than joining the rest of his seemingly endless collection, the letter would be organized into a special “cabinet”-- one in which only the most important things were kept.

  5.      I really don’t know how to start this because I rarely, rarely post on the forums outside of Roleplay posts and the occasional magic application or staff app, but something’s been bothering me since the day I joined the server and I think I finally found the words to describe it in a way that makes sense.

I don’t understand why people come onto a server that’s designed specifically for people that enjoy roleplaying and go raid a CRP-based city, pick a race for their character (notably humans) that are prone to fighting, then proceed to PVP the moment that they have the opportunity to. They use the excuse that ‘well edgy magic RPers and minmaxers that refuse to die make the RP take too long or impossible to win’ which may be true to some extent, but at the same time who wants to deal with sitting in a city while a group of 5 people run in on horses, MC-ly move right in your face with no emotes whatsoever, and immediately copy-paste in an emote of them trying to restrain your character within one emote or outright kill them, while you are completely defenseless because your character was sitting on a bench and having a conversation with someone. Even groups that go on raids for reasons rooted in roleplay (take orc sacrifices, for example) don’t even want to have a good CRP fight to actually get their sacrifice. You can’t expect somebody to easily throw away their character’s life and go down easy in CRP when you want to immobilize them in one emote and behead them in the next.

Something that somehow makes even less sense is groups that go into cities specifically to pvp. Why the **** are you even on the server in the first place? If you don’t want to enjoy roleplay then, and I can’t speak for others but I know some people feel this way, we don’t want you here. Go on badlion or something. You’ll get just as many, if not more, clicks there. The funny thing about people that fish for PVP is they use the same techniques as above (trying to neutralize/kill your char within the first 3 emotes) but the most hilarious part is that as soon as there are ten people, they will immediately start screeching about how it’s pvp default. Some groups don’t even attack people directly, but constantly instigate conflict until somebody attacks them so that they can call pvp. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t the attacker have defender default if the group was constantly causing problems? The best part is when the argument inevitably begins and the GM comes. Rather than letting the situation actually be solved, the chat will constantly be flooded with “Status frozen!” or “Ready up guys” or “Can we start timer?” Like ***** let us figure out at the very least if we’re roleplaying or not. The GM’s will often ask questions regarding what they see in the logs, and if the answer happens to favor the raiding party, they will immediately fill the entire chat with the answer that is as biased as possible in their favor. If it favor’s the defending team’s perspective, however, they won’t say a single word.

Now I get that many of you are thinking “Oh, Tri is a dumb Sutican MAGE! haha he must just be a triggered retard that lost his pixels.”

You’re probably right ngl, but at the same time I can’t help but be bothered by this stuff. I understand that you all get annoyed by edgy mages and **** that want to be the main protag, but at the same time there’s no way on Earth it’s bad enough to prompt behavior like yours. Some of you are so committed to pvp that you can’t put together a CRP emote other than *punches [name] in the face.

Nonetheless you CRP’ers aren’t excused either. This is a completely different topic for a completely different time but I have just as many problems, if not more, with people that are poor CRPers. It doesn’t make sense for your character not to get exhausted after 2 hours of CRP, even if you’re not a mage, and not everybody can be the main protag with perfect reaction speed, agility, mobility, and strength. while also being equiped with five different weapons and a bow and arrow.

  6.          I most enjoy the magic RP’ers who let their character define their magic rather than magic define their character. Sadly, most people can’t find anything to do on the server other than magic and so their character’s only personality trait becomes “Yeah, I do magic.” It should feel like a good amount of flavor or spice added to your char, not an entire ******* tomato sauce. I’m also a fan of big emotes, though I know many people do not enjoy seeing massive chatwalls on their screen. However, as long as the information in the emote isn’t completely extraneous, I think a bulky dose of imagery is enjoyable to read and interact with.

I also am bothered by people that constantly roleplay their magic to its maximum potential. And I don’t mean using t5 spells the majority of the time, that’s fine. The problem is when the person has their character know and fully understand every nook and cranny of their magic after just a few irl months of learning, even sometimes knowing spells that they haven’t actually been taught IRP. Not only is the void supposed to be a mysterious thing (This might not apply to holy/dark magic), but it’s also not a bad thing if you’re char RPly doesn’t know a few spells that they potentially have at their disposal. If anything, it makes you respectable for not being a complete minmaxer.

Also, do fun things with it that don’t apply to combat scenarios.

Edit: As I’m rereading this I’m thinking of so many other things that bother me but I don’t feel like elaborating on all of them so I’ll give a little bit of attention to each.

    1. When in combat, please for the love of God don’t try to be the emain protagonist because your character knows magic. If you are a t5 mage, you should have no more value than a skilled knight.
    2. Mages that minmax and don’t purposely give their characters much needed drawbacks that can not only contribute to their character’s, well, character, as a whole, but also make them more realistic. For example, my mage char is pretty good at mojo, but he’s also a complete wimp and I often purposely emote his spells backfiring because it makes him seem like a more real person, rather than a Minecraft-Combat-Robot that performs to the best of his potential in every single scenario ever.
    3. Regarding magic as a typical, mundane thing bothers me. It’s supposed to be cool and mystical
  7. Lost within his own thoughts, the young elf Hiren, who befriended many and opposed few, stuck on his over-sized boots and dirty trousers as he made his way out of his abode. The thin man, per usual, wandered into the square of Sutica, briefly greeting the citizens with dim smiles and half-hearted waves. Today, however, he continued past the square and left the city via the gates. Despite his young age, the half-Ascended’s glowing teal eye had grown dull and tired with time. His posture was slouched sheepishly and his once-flamboyant demeanor had faded away years ago. With this typical, flat expression, Hiren continued on his way and refused to turn when some of the civilians tried to grab his attention. He would not be seen by anybody for a long time, if ever; he muttered a few apologies as he went. . .

    “Sorry Dad.

    Sorry Marcella.

    Sorry Steven.

    Sorry Evelyn.

    Sorry Ringer.

    Sorry Alex.

    Sorry Mystery.

    Sorry Theo.”

OOC: AAAAAHHHH I LOVE THIS CHARACTER AND ALL OF YOU GUYS AND YOUR CHARACTERS SO MUCH BUT I’M TAKING A MUCH NEEDED BREAK, AS MUCH AS IT HURTS ME TO PK HIM. STAY EPIC

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

    Telekinesis

Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):

Telekinesis is on the more simple spectrum of voidal magics, being an alteration in which one can move objects via their mind. Such is accomplished by first creating a mana anchor on the object they’d like to manipulate (this is called grabbing) and then proceeding to will movement upon the object. As a telekinetic becomes more skilled, they become capable of lifting heavier objects/moving objects at faster speeds. In addition, upon reaching tier 3, a mage is able to manipulate multiple objects simultaneously, however the strength of their cast is equivalent to their total capabilities divided by the amount of objects being manipulated. For example, when manipulating two objects a telekinetic’s strength is halved, and when manipulating three it is divided into thirds. Telekinetics, like all the voidally-attuned, begin by learning to connect to the void. They are then taught grabbing and manipulation on an object, and as they progress they learn to achieve greater feats with the magic. After reaching t5 in this magic, a telekinetic’s strength steadily increases at precisely 5 kilograms per in game year (one irl week)

    - No living tissue can be manipulated.

    - Constantly-moving objects like water and fire can not be manipulated or grabbed.

    - Exhaustion must be emoted at all tiers of this magic.

    - You can’t make yourself fly !!! ?

    - You can manipulate moving objects/objects who’s motion is opposing the intended motion of your spell, however its strength will be hampered.

    - Objects can be crushed, within reason.
