If the roleplay beforehand is major (e.g. a conflict) and they run from roleplay you may drop them but you must revive them.” I agree with this rule the most because of its stance on bringing in pvp into the roleplay world, having been on many servers where random pvp interrupts and just causes mayhem, it feels like it will bring a lot more enjoyment to the whole server as a community. I was introduced to the server by some friends who suggested I check it out. Definitions What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is the act of portraying a character you have created and living out their life within the rp world that they have been based in. What is metagaming?: The act of metagaming is when external information is used by a person(s) to influence their own character into having access to certain situations or information that their character wouldn’t have had without access to out of character communication. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is where one or more characters ignore the reality of a roleplay situation, causing many occurrences of actions they deem to successfully happen without giving space for other parties involved to influence the scenario. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. Character’s name: Lydia Ophiuchus Character’s sex: Female Character’s race: Human, Heartlander Character’s age: 23 Biography~ : Lydia was born the second child of her family and was her parents only daughter, quickly becoming the child who was thought of after her parents pride and joy, with one older brother. She was quite happy to be the only daughter but not so much a sibling, sharing wasn’t her speciality, and it pushed her to develop into a rather mischievous and secretive child who quite often got in trouble when her parents found out about any misdeeds. Lydia and her family moved quite quickly after her birth in 1516, after the ‘Duke’s War’ began when she was two years old in 1518, to a village off towards the north where some family lived. When the war ended Lydia and her brother were pushed into schooling and she would pay attention but she was always the overly energetic student waiting to get out and experience the world rather than read about it in texts. During her adolescent years, when her family made the move to Riga after the ‘Duke’s War’ in 1529, Lydia would continuously sneak off in the dead of night to explore the city, she felt a rush of excitement from avoiding patrols of guards and running about in the shadows, even getting caught once or twice past curfew was thrilling. Lydia eventually began work as a courier, her parents helped her find the job to keep their energetic young lady active during the day in hopes that she would stop causing trouble during the night, and it worked to a certain extent but it just gave Lydia more time to explore and learn her way about Riga. After working for a few years as a courier Lydia decided that it just wasn't enough, she had seen so much of her home and now she craved more, so sometimes she would seriously consider sneaking onto a ship and running away. Lydia’s older brother being content to just follow his father’s wishes for him to become a city guard or naval warrior after they had moved to Riga made her sick so she decided to leave and go explore, buying passage onto a merchant vessels she departed from the Duchy of Courland. Personality Traits: Loyal- For the group of people Lydia brings close to herself she is always ready to help them, she sees them as the family she chose rather than was forced into at birth, because she finds her friends to be the people she values the most. Determined- She might just be stubborn but Lydia just won't back down when she wants something she has her eye on, unless it's life threatening, she will do what it takes to get whatever ‘it’ is. Sneaky- Lydia had to hide many things from her parents on a regular basis, in childhood it was toys and presents but in her early youth it was her little ‘adventures’ outside the house at night, so she became quite secretive and deceptive with her parents. Friendly- Lydia enjoys bringing in only some people close to her personally but she is always very open and bright when she meets a new person. Selfish- Lydia was the second born and child of her family so she was often thought of second after her older brother, having to share with her brother became so irritating to Lydia that she would hide her things away and when asked she would deny knowing their whereabouts. Ambitions: Lydia would like to learn a form of magic someday and explore new exciting places she has never been to. Lydia would like to find a nice place to settle down, a place she can call home, in the distant future. Strengths/Talents: Agile~ Running about as a courier for some years helped Lydia develop her body so that she could run faster and maneuver around obstacles. Flexible~ Climbing about and sneaking around in the dead of night caused Lydia do have a very flexible form, bending and weaving herself to climb onto some wall or structure. Good sense of direction~ Lydia takes care to remember where she has been, often this relies mostly on noting key buildings or structures, and she can quite often find her way back from where she came from. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Obsessive~ Lydia can become overly fixated on things that take up her interest, not to an unhealthy level, and it can often take up most of her time trying to find out more about her fascination. Trusting~ Of the people Lydia keeps in close company she often makes good choices in who they are but sometimes nasty little fiends slip past and managed to weasel their way in, eventually, to hurt her. Light weight~ Although she may have built up some decent muscle, in her years of running and jumping about, Lydia is still quite the small and light girl and this makes her a very small threat when faced against someone larger and bigger than herself.
