What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is where you are playing as a character and being them. It isn't just pretending to be a person, it is fully acting like them with everything you do in the game.
What is metagaming?: Knowing something that you wouldn't know in character and doing things based on a thing that you might know out of character. . Like bob can see people's nametag on the other side of a wall, but he won't make a judgement about it until he actually sees them in RP and MC.
What is powergaming?: Making yourself OP! It's buffing up your person when they aren't actually buff. An example is like, *stabs and kills him instantly.

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Gustaf's parents were killed by orcs..
Uh.. Nah just joking. Gustaf grew up in the city of Saltstone, born to a normal family. His father served as a blacksmith for Lord Bryce Vimmark and his mother worked the tavern as a barmaid. He learnt to fight at a fairly young age and started his training early too. The life around Saltstone is generally cold so he is quite used to the icy temperatures from that. Gustaf's deep northern accent is also because of him originating from Saltstone. He lived a very pleasant life until the age of 16 when he went to live as a mercenary.
After a while of serving as a mercenary Gustaf got rather bored. He decided to head out into the woods and have a short hunting trip. Equiped with his sword, his courage and a few ales, he set out on the small journey into the forest near where he was stationed. Gustaf didn't bother bringing a bedroll, besides he was too poor to even afford one. He set out for the first day and sat in the bushes for a while next to a large clearing. It took a long time of waiting until anything of merit actually came along. Eventually a small deer came by. Gustaf looked at it for a while before carefully stepping out of the brush and into the clearing. He was rather clumsy and stepped on a twig, a sharp crack was heard around the clearing. This caused the poor deer to turn it's head quickly at Gustaf. His cover was blown, and the deer shot off into the woods again. That was the last time Gustaf ever bothered with hunting.
His service as a mercenary went very well for the first few years. He found himself a place in with the caliphate and they paid him well. Gustaf worked there until his contract ended and then he really just went around and lurked wherever he could, looking for jobs and such. That is what he does now, just looking for mercenary jobs.
Personality Traits: He is quiet yet loud in battle. Gustaf is mostly comfortable around the people that he likes and admires. He is generally awkward around others that he doesn't know. Gustaf is kind and caring but also a little selfish.
Ambitions: He aims to join the Varygian order and become part of the Vallbergs. Gustaf wants to eventually become a High ranking officer in the order and have a nice house with a nice amount of food and beer.
Strengths/Talents: He can handle a sword and shield well from all of his training so he is as good as any other standard footman.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Not very good when it comes to reading and speaking to people. Gustaf was trained mostly in martial combat instead of reading and writing. He is also unable to handle a bow and is rather stupid. Easily tricked.
Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Gustaf is fairly tall but nothing more than the average man of his age, he stands at about 5'6ft but is fairly muscular due to his profession. His dirty brown hair covers the sides of his head but not the top because of his receding hairline. Sadly for him he has a large scar down his face from one of his mercenary jobs gone bad.
