“This is primarily for Zahrer, but I guess it’s applicable to Eliza, too. The main point is; I’m leaving, and if all goes well, I’m not coming back. The reason is; I don’t need to. I’ve always felt obliged to make sure the future is secure, that I left this place better off than it was. Thing is, I’m pretty comfortable with how things are looking right now. The few concerns I had, about things that I could change, have essentially all been calmed lately. I’m really happy with how the future generation is set up. You’ve all done great.

With that taken care of, he was back in his office, stepping into the center of the ring of salt. Sitting down, he began to chant. Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Epiphytes are beings that received and answered a call from (or got unlucky and fell asleep beside) a fae plant that snuck into the mortal plane. They are cocooned in roots and transformed into a body of plant matter, resembling the fae plant that turned them. They are as flexible as a descendant, though this process weakens the strength of the plant matter, making them even more weak to cuts than descendants. This also neutralizes chemical properties of their body. Typical plants (in Shaula’s case, cattails) create Bryophites. Their first iteration closely resembles their original form, but made of plant matter matching their fae host. However, every 50-100 years, a Bryophite withers and ‘passes away’, before being reborn as a new Epiphyte. They resemble their previous form, but can begin to change in appearance. They will retain memories up to the player’s discretion, and personality is malleable depending on their environment. Despite rebirths, their total lifespan is still the same as their original. 

Bryophites require lots of sunlight to stay healthy, and most become herbivorous. They also retain a strong connection to their fae plant, and their growth and health are directly affected by each other. They can ‘communicate’ in the sense that they understand their plant as if it were a part of their being, and always know where their plant is. They may create individual seeds to create a new version of their fae plant, though if it is planted the previous one will wither. 

Bryophites deal with blight awfully, as it spreads to both the ‘phyte and the plant, driving them mad.

- Bonzais can’t ftb because lolis are a scourge against humanity that must be exterminated by any means necessary
