Character’s name: Tarah Volarus Character’s sex: Female Character’s race: Human Character’s age: Twenty three. Biography : Born in central Ceru, Tarah was the child of two die-hard adventurers; Yrsa Volarus, the mother, and Brendor Harkonnen, the father. These two had been brought together during their many journeys across the world, eventually to settle down to raise their child. In her younger days, it was evident that traveler's blood ran hot in Tarah. Her upbringing had developed her desire to learn, her passion to explore, and her incurable wanderlust. All throughout her young life, Tarah was continually awed by her parent's stories of lands far away, people unmet by her, and the tales of danger and excitement. To little Tarah, the world was fantastic, and her wonderful childhood was filled with trips, storybooks, and play. Naturally, as Tarah matured, her outlook on the world matured. Yet, her spirit was unhampered... ...even with the death of her father, at the black hands of a deathly sickness... Brendor had passed away in his sleep, in home with his wife and daughter. A peaceful departure, yet one that gripped Yrsa and Tarah's hearts with grief. Tarah would spend her teenage years and early adulthood with her mother, and the memories of her father. Life continued for mother and child. To both ease the agony of Brendor's death, and to bring experience of the world to her daughter (while revitalizing her own), Yrsa took Tarah to see the world. Or, at least, as much as they could. For more than a decade, Yrsa and Tarah bonded through travel. Tarah fondly remembered her father, even donning his old adventuring gear, as a pleasant reminder of days long gone. For Yrsa, however, the death of her husband created a crack in her heart that would never heal. One that would, one day, split her and Tarah apart. In her twenty-third year of life, Tarah and her mother were in the middle of a rather misfortune-riddled journey into the ice land of Skjoldier. Poor weather, isolation, and numerous failures of gear made for a rather miserable trip into the snow. What would happen next, was worse. Far worse. While navigating a blizzard, Yrsa and Tarah stumbled upon what seemed to be a young, lost woman. What was unknown to them, was that this "lost woman" was a Fjarriauga. A Frost Witch. The encounter was quick, and harmless. The lost woman vanished into the howling wind, and the pair trudged onward. Tarah failed to notice the blue, splotchy bruise on the back of her mother's neck, for they were bundled warmly. Unbeknownst to Tarah, Yrsa had been struck far harder by Brendor's death than she ever showed. Grief still wept in her heart, and it only wept louder with time. Bouts of secret depression were common, as she did not want her daughter to know of her pain. The grief grew unbearable, and, one night, as she waited for sleep to overtake her in the cramped, cold shelter that mother and child slept... ...she grew cold. Her hair turned snow-white, and her eyes, an icy, luminescent blue. Yrsa. A Fjarriauga. The next morning, she awoke to discover that Tarah's clothing had become damp sometime in the night, due to overheating, eventually to freeze as she cooled with sleep. Hypothermia. Tarah was going to die. Soon. Yrsa, having no heat of her own to warm her daughter and her tears freezing, took her daughter to a small village, leaving her at the doorstep of a house wrapped in what few dry garments she could find, and vanished into the blizzard, having said her words of parting; "Be strong, my child. For I was not." She had left her daughter, for fear of hurting her. ... Tarah was taken into the village that night, and nursed back to health. The woman now travels, as her parents had before her, seeing the world, meeting new people, and living the life she thought that was intended for her. In the back of her mind, and heart, her adventures also serve as her purpose; to find Yrsa. To find her mother. This...is Tarah's story. Personality Traits: Tarah is a warm-hearted, and fun-loving woman. Her desire to live life to it's fullest holds her in high esteem. Ambitions: Why, a great adventurer, of course! Like the ones in the stories! Strengths/Talents: Tarah's strength comes from her heart. She is loyal, and persistent, and knows a thing or two about travelling. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Unfortunately, Tarah herself is not an experienced warrior. She knows how to defend herself, but little more. She would rather hide, flee, or prevent danger than fight it. She's also rather slow-witted when it comes to jokes or witty ideas. She prefers to be more direct. Appearance: Tarah's most notable feature is her earthy-orange hair, kept in a single braid in recent times yet worn long in the past. She has clear green eyes, light skin, and a sturdy figure.
