My 12 year old daughter found it on YouTube (Gizzy Gazza) and asked me if she could join. I am here to explore LotC and find out if this is something I feel comfortable having her play, and if I need to add my own rules for her to make sure she will be safe. Definitions What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is pretending to be someone else when everyone knows this is a character you are playing and not the real you. It is a chance to try out people and personalities you don’t get to experience in real life. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is cheating. It’s allowing your character to know, or “accidentally” do coincidental things because of information the player knows but the character does not know. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is giving yourself an overpowered character or giving your character abilities or items that would give them an unfair advantage over others in battle or other exploits. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. (I couldn’t find in the wiki whether there is an orphanage in Laurelin. Nor could I find whether it really would house all races. If these things do not match lore, Sepia can simply come from the Wood Elf colony in Laurelin) Character’s name: Sepia Cassandra Sunfury Character’s sex: female Character’s race: wood elf Character’s age: 65 (I read somewhere that 50 was adulthood for elves? Like 18? Her sister is just turning 50 (18?) and can leave the orphanage now, and it takes at least 10-15 years to have a second child, right?) Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Despite Iblees curse, Sepia has a younger sister. Sepia and Jani grew up in an orphanage (if there is one) in Laurelin. Both their parents disappeared soon after Jani’s birth, thus Sepia became somewhat of a mother to her sister, and is very protective of her. They were found wandering the streets of Laurelin, lost, hand in hand. The orphanage included children of all races (I don’t know if this can be true) and this belief was drilled into Sepia’s brain. For this reason, Sepia feels strongly that all races need to be treated equally. Sepia has such a free spirit that she could never stay put in the orphanage, sneaking out at night to get into trouble, while her well behaved sister slept safely inside. She tended to play around in lessons, never paying much attention to her studies. As she aged, and the matron tried to get her to help with the younger ones, she refused, even sneaking out the window one day when the matron was out grocery shopping and leaving her in charge. Her sister on the other hand had a way with children, and enjoyed being left in charge. Personality Traits: Sepia is a social character. She talks a lot, often faster than her brain can think or edit. She is very compassionate and empathetic. She does not like hurting anyone and therefore hardly ever fights, but finds herself in the fray because she feels she must protect and heal others. She is a free spirit and balks at any attempt to cage or control her. Ambitions: Sepia’s main goal is to help her younger sister as she leaves the orphanage and makes her way into the world. She is also interested in learning magic, especially healing magic. She would love to explore the world, but worries as she gets lost so easily. Strengths/Talents: Communication, understanding people, empathy towards nature. She has a knack towards healing. Weaknesses/Inabilities: She has very little sense of direction (I assume that’s rare in elves) and tends to get lost easily. She does not think fast in a fight but her instinct is to protect and heal. Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): After she was born, Sepia’s unusual reddish brown hair was the inspiration for her name. She is just under 5 feet tall, and waiflike. It is obvious the orphanage was understocked and none of the children are well-fed. It is not surprising therefore that her sepia colored hair, her pride and joy, is coarse and tangles easily, causing her to comb it sometimes even in the midst of conversation.
