Richard looked out upon the Enclave, observing as builders worked tirelessly to bring them their new home. He took a seat at a bare table and chair out in the open, with papers stacking up high on the table. (IC) The Aurowind Enclave, also named "The College of Aurowind" (or-o-wind) is an organization created by Mages whose main purpose is to instruct those in the schools of magic who desire to be taught, and research any and all types of magic and its properties. Along with this, the Enclave is accepting to any normal, non-magic users. Those who enroll within the enclave without the intention to learn magic are immediately placed within one of the three sects - Combat, Defense or the Knowledge sect, and follow under generally the same hierarchy with slight differences. The magus' are unified by their beliefs and practice within their given sub-type of Magic, all whilst being led by the High Council. Within the enclave, should one enroll, they will receive standard Enclave training robes and begin their journey as an Acolyte - but should one know magic already upon enrollment, they can be admitted in as a higher rank. As one is instructed in the ways of the Enclave and learning magic, each member progresses through several different ranks. The students will undergo years of heavy training regiments along with provided missions, field experiments, and activities for the Enclave. (OOC) The Purpose The Enclave, or "College" of Aurowind is a place of learning and discovery that aims to provide roleplayers with an immersive Mages College experience in Lord of the Craft, from the students desire to learn Magic, to the Consulars and the Masters studying the deeper mysteries of the Void, other forms of magic, and non-magic users with the intention to learn basic combat skills or gain knowledge, This curriculum includes regular classes (The Void, Magic Theory and Practice, Ethics and Morals, Diplomacy, History, and Philosophy) including spur-of-the-moment classes held by the Consulars and Masters, and the Master-Apprentice relationship leading an Apprentice to the climb ranks of the Enclave under the care and instruction of his/her mentor. Hierarchy The ranks highlighted in red are situational. Acolyte: a young student recently enrolled in the Enclave, still learning the basics in classes and about their desired magic type and magic overall. Each Acolyte is introduced to all kinds of magic before deciding which subtype they wish to learn. As for non-magic users, they are introduced into the basics of their sects and assigned missions correlating with their sect. Apprentice: A learner that has passed the initial training, is ready to learn more and can be picked by a Mentor. Alternatively, an apprentice that has been removed from (or lost) his/her Master. Adept: an apprentice who has been assigned to a Mentor and is learning more advanced subjects. Sentinel: a former Consular on probation (temporary rank), or an advanced non-magic user under the Defense sect. Consular: a student who has passed their Trials and can hold classes, learn advanced techniques and take an apprentice. Can also take students on missions, field experiments, etc. Master: a Consular who has proved his value and was acknowledged by in-place Masters (symbolic title). Additional Ranks (sub-ranks): Head of Sects: Consulars or Masters who manage a specific field of teaching and management in the Enclave. High Councilors: members of the Enclave’s Council form the administrative body of the Enclave, and take part in discussions regarding the leadership as well as the daily running of the Enclave and expeditions. The following demonstrates, in theory, a member’s progression through the enclave: Acolyte: Is assigned to a group of other Acolytes for free time activities, missions, and assistance. Attends core classes, learning about each sub-type and it’s purpose Has to actively seek for basic training and preparation. For a non-magic user, they will learn about their sect, be introduced to the skills correlating with their sect, and go on minor missions. The Acolyte Trials: Will be assigned a task of somewhat difficult, often differentiating depending on the student. Organized by the High Council Creation of a Staff (Optional) Decide on what sub-type he/she wishes to learn, and be assigned/receive a master Apprentice: Can attend classes on any specific type of magic. Has to seek out Masters for advanced training in sects and his/her’s sub-types(s). Can be taken on under a specific Consular or Master Can be introduced to a sect. Can partake on more difficult missions/activities Apprentice Trials: IC Trials (set up by the mentor) Proficiency in his/her(s) sub-type(s) The Apprentice must meet the requirements ICly. Will be assigned a task often of utmost difficult or importance to prove the Apprentice's skill and readiness Consular: Can teach to students Teaches/holds classes for Acolytes and Apprentices Can organize and take students on missions Will be assigned missions, expeditions, and important diplomatic relations Can request an Apprentice Can apply for a certain sect, or even lead a sect (Archivist, Research, Combat, etc) Master: Ceremonial Title Can take on two Apprentices at once. Oversees and guides the Consulars in their role in the Enclave.
