What is roleplaying?: The act of taking on a character in game and acting as the character would according to their personality.
What is metagaming?: Using info you collected out of character to influence your decisions while in character. Such as using a name you see in chat to address them even though your character doesn't know this.
What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Forcing and emote on someone when they have no way to counter act the emote. Such as Brian swings his sword and decapitates Orthen. Which then Orthen has no way to block the sword.
In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Edith Roseburg lived in a house just outside of Felsen, his Dad, Christler Roseburg died in 1538 in the battle at the dwarven forts Khro'Nogaak. His mother Christy Roseburg was forced to raise him on her own while also farming and keeping enough money for supplies and rent for the house. His older brother Rian died in the plague that spread across Vailor in 1526. Many died around him in that plague including his uncle Roriorn.
After his Dad and Brother's death he had assumed the role of the man of the house and started working to help support his family because he felt obliged to since he was the only man. After his mother died he packed up and left the house in a hope that he would become an Adventurer and find a better life for himself. Many days after he left the house he headed to the Cloud Temple, because he heard that many of the adventurers started there and he intended to do the same. On his way to the Cloud Temple he created himself a bow and started to practice on and kill animals with it improving his accuracy.
