What’s the rule you agree with the most?: This clause in the mission statement caught my eye as quite a strong one: 1. To remember that roleplay isn’t about winning or losing, but about storytelling. Allow roleplay to flourish, and act as a builder of an overall story.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: Various character’s skins and a want to escape horrible Hypixel Roleplays, as well as a passion for the Tolkien book series.

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying in this context is taking a character’s role and interacting with other users in a story, which is progressively written by members of the roleplay. Usually roleplay is driven by in-game chat, but in LOTC pvp combat is also allowed if both parties agree it is the best way to settle an RP dispute.
What is metagaming?: Metagaming, possibly more-known as BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL! Is when you start to talk to other players outside of your area as you might in an mmo. E.g.
Uh I need a wizard with magic level (insert here) who can help me (insert action here) or I will die pls halp.
Reply: Oh sure I’m coming on in a minute where are you I’ll call all my friends
What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Basically playing like a hack n slash. This means giving the opponent no time to prepare or block. In less high-tier roleplays, even I personally have had this happen to me. Eg.
*slices through earl jimbob’s head and steps on his severed neck*

*Jimbob sees his opponent’s eyes wander towards his head and watches him move his arm to his sword*

Biography Max grew up in the Kingdom of Vandoria, in a small settlement on its borders. He spent the first 10 years of his life mostly stuck in this little neck of the woods, not experiencing life. However when he reached 10, he decided he wanted to explore this life to the best of his abilities. Experience the thrills of just life. On his 10th birthday he left home with a bow, a batch of arrows and a sword, plus enough food to feed him until he could find some food elsewhere. This is when he got caught in a dust storm and had to try to treat his eyes by himself (this did not work). This exploration at such a young age left him quite wary of strangers, but taught him a lot.
At one point he settled down in Laureh'lin to study the elves’ way of life and improve his bow skills. Luckily this kept him away from the quarrels Vandoria was having at the time withAfter his 3 years of training he left all his new friends behind and returned home, where he does not keep permanent residence. Instead he travels his nation of origin, staying in every inn, trying every type of bread from their bakeries. He found this more modern style of life quite enjoyable, but it did not give him precious hunting time like his more adventurous years. He is now looking to use his valuable combat training to use in any group of fighters he can.
So far he has not met any groups that will accept him and agree with his morals. Maybe it’s the freaky eyes? He doesn’t know.
Personality Traits: Shy to strangers, but surprisingly frank and open to allies, he likes just experiencing life in peace, but will draw arms if needs be. He admires how elves like to support the environment. However, he dislikes unnecessary deaths and hates the orcs’ misuse of resources. He has a pet hate for people who act very seriously all the time, and likes to take life easily. He does really aspire to master his swordsmanship… He also has a part time hobby of singing but is very embarrassed if anybody hears him. He doesn’t think it’s a… manly… thing to do.
Ambitions: Max wishes to become a master swordsman who could stand among the greatest. He grew up in a small town however, so he doesn’t know who to truly aspire to. He just hasn’t met anyone… He wishes to learn magic, but feels that will never happen because he is such a tiny force in the world.
Strengths/Talents: He is already very good at archery. Nothing like a prodigy or something, but he prides himself on that at the least. He is decent at swordplay but is more the type to stay back in battle and think of strategies. He studied for 3 years on the tactics of warfare, but doesn’t think he’s all that good at it still.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: he is TERRIBLE at intimidation. He prefers to negotiate with his enemies, but it never works… He is not very confident. He is insecure about his eyes because they come from a time he’d rather forget. He has a bit of trouble with the string of his bow hitting his hand and thus prefers to use his bow slightly different to most. This odd quirk however impairs his range.
Appearance: Max is a tall young man, with dark brown (almost black, though he hates it when people call his hair black because it makes him sound like a social outcast) hair that is annoyingly shiny, which can cause problems in night attacks, and eyes that used to be pale blue but after a reckless accident are now faded red from the infection (he got caught in a dust storm and got far too much dust in his eyes. After a few weeks of recovering, the colour change seemed not to go away. He’s tried time and time again to use concoctions to fix it, but it’s still a huge annoyance for him, and he hates when people assume his morality from it). Max has very pale skin from living in the forest for a few years. This means he burns very easily and prefers night raids (or not, because of his hair) so he does not stick out so badly. He does not have any visible scars, but Max considers his eyes permanent problems. He would rather hide his eyes than show them, to put it simply.
Skin: Max sometimes wears normal clothes but in battle has a fancy set of Vandorian armour he found one day whilst staying in an inn. (in dangerous situations he changes skin beforehand) Pictures are attached.
