What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is putting yourself into another character's shoes and acting as you think they would.
What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using knowledge that your character doesn't already know to your advantage. For example, metagaming would be going to Jerry's home when you don't know where Jerry lives. You would first have to learn where Jerry lives from him or another person while in character, and then proceed to go to Jerry's home.
What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is forcing another action onto a character which they cannot react to. For example, it would be powergaming if you said "The pan fell from the shelf onto James' head, smacking him down." James doesn't get to react to that situation-- it's just placed on him.

Biography :
My character was born in 1546 in the area of Felsen. His parents both worked at a food stall, and Draylar was usually there to help them with their work. As his parents often left work to go visit relatives in other areas of the town, Draylar learned how to manage the stall on his own. Thanks to his kind and laid-back attitude which formed from meeting some don't-care people time after time, he made connections with the various travelers who visited his food stall. People were attracted to his persona and they found him easy to get along with-- they also found it amusing that a young child was so smart for his age. In the year of 1556, an expansion started on the city market. This drastically increased the amount of people who visited his family's stall, bringing in lots of business. At the age of 16, Draylar met a man who was an excellent weapons-wielder. He was a regular customer at the food stall and he always told Draylar stories of his latest accomplishments. The man taught Draylar the basics on combat with a sword in a short amount of time. Draylar was able to use the sword efficiently within one week of practice. This was because he was used to changing how the food stall operated-- he is good with change and can easily adapt because of it. Draylar used this knowledge and often practiced on his own, getting to the point where he could hold his ground in a fight with other sword users. As he could now fight on his own, Draylar wanted to put his skills to good use. He decided he wanted to protect those who couldn't protect themselves-- people such as the elderly who can do nothing to defend themselves because of their old age. He noticed how the weak is picked on by the strong, and he hated how the stronger would show no mercy to those who they were picking on. He vowed to himself that he would one day save the life of one who could not protect themselves.
Draylar would often find other people his age to practice duel with. While not the best, he was always looking forward to the next fight and always looking to make connections through a battle. At the age of 22, Draylar was ready to find more people to fight with. He decided to leave his small food stall to his parents and adventure out to all of the sections of Felsen. While not a big goal, Draylar was usually confined to the shop by his parents because they had so much work to do. He has a habit of thinking about protection: how can the weak become strong or protect themselves from the stronger? He often thinks the government isn't doing a good job at keeping the weak protected because of the wars that have snapped families apart. However, he also believes the government shouldn't be too protective because it could turn into a place where nobody has freedom. He now often spends his time picking up trash on Gainford Road as he feels that nobody else will do it if he doesn't take the responsibility to do so. He hopes to one day find a partner who he can travel with, but no such person has appeared yet.
Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Draylar is very laid-back. He often finds himself wondering about how the government protects those under its care. He's always looking for a good meal, however, he watches his weight in fear of becoming too slow for combat.
Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) My character wants to be a hero in the shadows. Somebody who helps another person without any gain or reward for doing so.
Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Draylar has a talent for learning new skills quickly. He has learned how to use several different types of weapons and he often picks up new basic tricks and skills simply by watching others perform it. He can also easily adapt to new situations and find a weapon which is suited for that situation.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Draylar is often too cocky and can sometimes overestimate his own skills. He thinks his adaptability to different fighting scenarios can help him win every fight and that sometimes backfires on him.
Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Draylar is at a medium height and has black hair. He has a light skin color and takes pride in his clean, mature face. His eyes are a sea-green color, but they were originally blue when he was born. He usually wears a blue shirt with a white belt and brown tie.
