Conrad read over the missive with a grin, testing would be needed, and perhaps his old friend Adele would finally understand his view of the darkspawn.

  2. Conrad had made his way up to the hill too late, the medics had made it too late. He managed to get out something personal to the man, unknowing if he could have still even heard it or if it were too late. He'd have thanked him for everything if he had enough time yet he didn't. He gave some truthful, painful words and had to move on. Later he'd be told that people were sorry for his losses, they weren't just his though, they were everyone's losses, especially Ser Walton. The man had done much for not just the Order of the Crow but also the entire kingdom. He was the model knight in Conrad's eyes, a wall of morality which never truly broke, which served faithfully until unlike his morals his body broke.

  3. First his wife and then his mentors both Ser Emil and Ser Walton. A lot of loss had recently hit Conrad, a lot was weighing down on him, as he was now a father of two by himself with the responsibility of the Paramount. Johanna's death was just another thing he had to put away, for now, to grieve over later and let out during a fight. He kept repeating to himself and anyone who mentioned talking about everything of recent. "I just need to pack it up and push it back for now."

  4. Conrad lingered over the letter, letting out a small hum, not quite knowing what to make of it. She'd managed to last and pass on the torch which she took up despite never wanting it. This thought caused him to stop and rethink some things, if she could do it, why not?

  5. "A Cheese what?" Conrad questioned as he looked over the Cheddar Agreement from the courtyard of the knights keep. He moved over to look over the wall and down the hill towards the neighboring Halflings. A simple huh escaped him.

  6. Conrad sat back in his room in the new knight keep, having a small drink after having just finished the decorations with hanging up a picture of his wife. He looked over the various publications of the day before coming to one that caught his eye in particular. From outside his room a cacophony of noise from the knight falling back out of his chair and coughing on his drink could be heard.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Alchemy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Alchemy is best described as a bunch of scientific disciplines, mainly chemistry and biology, wrapped up into one messy bow. It takes irp years to study, to experiment with different recipes, learn things in a sort of tier of knowledge as it gets more and more complex, and even has certain subgroups of knowledge which one needs another person to teach them specifically. It is a science to learn how to replicate certain occurrences and just how the world works. The craft itself can be seen in various ways, whether it being mercantile, philosophical in a figuring out how things work, or more. Either way alchemy uses signs and symbols obtained in various ways to create less than natural effects.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There Are a few major components which someone must learn in order to do alchemy.

    Signs & Symbols

The first thing to learn about in terms of Alchemy is the Material Alphabet, a series of runes of shrouded origins. The Material Alphabet is used by many different groups for many different things. Alchemists learn the Material Alphabet to learn what the runes which they use are and do. The runes which Alchemists use are divided into signs and symbols, the ability to identify which signs and symbols improves as one goes about their time of knowing alchemy starting from not being able to decipher what a reagent might have on it without help at first to at tier three where one becomes fluent in being able to understand what each symbol and sign means. There are five signs which are as follows, Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Aether. As for symbols there are many but to name a few would be instability, light, growth, and chaos.

    Reagents and Processing

Reagents whether they be botanical or otherwise such as blood, mana, or otherwise hold the symbols which are needed in order to create potions.

    1. Identification: As one learns and becomes more masterful in alchemy it takes less time in order to identify the symbols in reagents going from upwards of a day to a few hours as a master alchemist. Further a tier three alchemist can take time to learn reverse engineer a common potion which they have irp in order to learn the recipe which they’ve obtained

    2. Extraction: Extraction is important to learn how to get the symbols from the Regents themselves. There are five different ways in which someone can extract the needed symbols, Aether, Air, Water, Fire, and Earth, the same as the five signs. Aether is the most commonly used and is the mundane method for extracting symbols. Though the other extraction methods have their own uses in extracting specific signs attached to symbols. If one needed to make a water breathing potion they would have need to use the water extraction method on the reagent which fits the bill for the 2x water grace symbols they need.

      1. Aether/mundane: First you need to shred the material, then you grind it down with mortar and pestle (aurum pestle for Aether). Then you take the ground down product and saturate it with aqua vitae while making sure to stir with a ladle (Aurum ladle for Aether). Finally it is boiled and filtered until only the desired powders which can be picked through for the symbols remain, be it with or without the aether prefix depending on if the aurum components were used.

      2. Fire: First dry/dehydrate the reagent, then shred it to the consistency of sawdust. From there you burn it until only ash remains which you can pick through for your symbols with the fire prefix.

      3. Water: There are two processes to water extraction. If solid the reagent should be soaked in distilled water, once soaked it should be shredded until it is no longer a soaked solid but instead a clump of mush. For liquid reagents it is sufficient to mix the liquid reagent in distilled water and then to pour it out onto a thin dish to let it evaporate over the course of a narrative day, leaving your powdered symbols with the water prefix.

      4. Earth: First you cut, crush, or grind down the reagent. Then putting it into a mortar and pestle with an amount of salt equal to half the equivalent of the reagent in question, combining it together by mixing and grinding it to a dull powder. From there the alchemist can sieve out the salt leaving the earth prefixed symbols needed

      5. Air: First you dry out the regent or dehydrate it, then shredding it until it is a thick powder. From there you put it in a container and compress and decompress it through bellows so that it can be turned into a thin powder. Then one can pick through this powder to get the needed air prefixed symbols.

    Potioncraft

Once one has extracted the necessary symbols from the reagents it can be added to the recipe to create the potion. Many solids and liquids can be used as bases for the concoctions that one makes for alchemy, some potions require specific bases. Even so the creation process for some potions is specific and for others it can be a haphazard process. One also needs a lab for when they craft alchemical creations, with all the necessary equipment which might be required. These potions which an alchemist creates are of course tiered in knowledge, leading to an alchemist gaining more access to options for their craft as they learn further. Some of these potions may be common knowledge ones which are able to be known freely and others rare knowledge with require learning through rp.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    Example: Flash Powder

Conrad withdrew three vials of symbols, one containing two measures of light symbols and the other containing a measure of death and chaos symbols respectively, setting them out along with a bowl of distilled water onto the table.

Conrad placed the two measures of light into the distilled water, letting it liquify as he went about getting the mortar and pestle, setting that too onto the table as he worked, putting the singular measures of death and chaos symbols into it and then beginning to mix the them into a combined powder together.

[!] After a few minutes Conrad took the combined death and chaos powder and put it now in the product of the light liquified with distilled water, taking an extra moment to get a tan colored dye and put that into the mixture as well, further taking more time for the powder to soak.

Conrad upon the passing of a few more minutes strained the bowl out, leaving the power put now changed, into a sand colored batch of Flash Powder. He quickly set about getting a new vial from the cabinet, carefully feeding the Flash Powder into it and using a cork to make sure it stayed in.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    Example: Teaching Earth Extraction

"Alright, this next part is going to be how you extract a symbol with the earth sign still attached so it." Conrad set out on the table Tippen's root and a cutting knife with a cutting board. "The first thing you want to do is cut the roots of this up until it is in pieces as the flowers are useless for what we want, the smell is harrowing so be ready for it."

The Student glanced to Conrad on the mention of smell before doing as told, gagging at the smell they were warned about.

"Good." Conrad commented as he set out the mortar and pestle and a bag of salt as they wrapped up their cutting of the Tippen's Root. "Now you have to take the roots which you just cut up and grind it together with an amount of salt half as much as what you have there until you have mixed it into a dull powder."

The student went about measuring up just how much they had and needed from the salt before getting such and putting the needed ingredients into the mortar and pestle, beginning to grind and mix it together, resulting in a dull powder.

[!] As the student worked Conrad took the cutting board and knife away, swapping it out for a handheld sieve. "Now you just use this with the powder in order to get the remaining salt out and you will have your symbols."

The student did as they were told once more, sieving the salt out from the mixture, leaving only the remnant symbols left.

Conrad picked out the different symbols, sorting them into their own groupings. "Four different ones in total with the earth sign still attached to it after extraction, unlike mundane." He went about to each different grouping he'd made, listing off what each was as if it were a list of chores to be done. "Three Impediment, one curtailment, two connection, and one order."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

The first step would have to be trying to convey what exactly they did wrong and attempting to correct the issue, should it be in a way which is a honest mistake and not in a way which is malicious in nature. Hopefully this leads to them learning and the issue no longer being an issue. Should it be malicious and not a honest mistake or persist however, then the next step would be to have them dropped as a student and to notify the ST of such and why they were dropped.

  8. Conrad knew that his page had met her end on the trip which she'd set out on after she didn't return for a lesson like she said she would; it didn't take a genius to put two and two together. Drinks flew across the keep as one feeling, and only one feeling overtook the man, something he typically only felt at the mention of someone, anger. After he had finished throwing anything he could, glass littered the floor and he remembered a promise he'd made to his wife before they had married, one which he now knew he would have to break to try and be at peace with what had happened.

  9. An old Reinmaren man read the contents of a paper over in one of the rare moments of clarity he had these days. Upon finishing he spoke to no one in particular as he was almost completely alone by this point. "Hopefully this is something which makes you happy finally old friend, just like that massive trebuchet."

  11. Friedrich sighed upon hearing the news of Dame Lynette's death, not having much else to do in his old age he ended up hearing relatively fast. "Another one from my time dies, I don't think I even know at this point how many are still alive. I guess I'll have reason enough to drink tonight."

Conrad made himself busy as he went along his day, he had things to do. The page wouldn't hear of the Dame's death for some time as he wanted to make sure that he didn't disappoint the knight when he saw her next, though he wouldn't get the chance.

  12. Friedrich looked at the missive given to him by one of his many family members for a few minutes, having to process what he was reading before letting out a singular "huh" before he went up to once again deal with the young Baron of Sigradz crying.

The Baron of Sigradz would cry once more as his father once again tried to force him tor read the missive, though he couldn't take his eyes off the rather exquisite coat of arms at the top.

  13. Friedrich reated his head in his hands after having read the letter. Just recently he had talked about how they had met on Arcas, how they went exploring around the continent together. Now he thought back as a sudden surge of grief hit the man after having found a bit of peace with all the death and loss that had surrounded him over the years after his retirement. He spoke to himself as his voice cracked, on the verge of braking down. "I know you are not in pain anymore, meine Frau, yet I wish I could have repaid you more for staying by me through it all."
