Why have you decided to apply for the Moderation Team?

Moderation team has always been a position that spoke out to me, and I enjoyed my previous time working on it. I am passionate about assisting the server and its growth, and wish for a positive experience for the entire player base. During my previous tenure on the moderation team, I gained experience in managing conflicts, making decisions, and developing other skill sets that I personally wish to improve upon, as I see these as valuable skills that can be utilized beyond the server.

What can you offer to the team?

One of my most valuable trait is my competitive nature. I approach my task by setting goals for myself through the observation of other team members, then try and implement my own improvements. This trait makes me someone who always seek to be the first to tackle a project, exceed the given quota, and to be a productive asset to the team. While I accomplish my work swiftly, I still aim for fineness in the end.

Over the years in the server, I have matured as an individual and find myself rarely heated in intense or frustrating situations. My current position on the Community Team, as well as my experience managing my own personal communities and projects outside of the server, has helped me approach conflict with a fair attitude while maintaining a friendly demeanor when speaking to players. As an almost 8 years long player, I have a firm understanding on the general server rules, as well as relevant plugins knowledge that is used by the team.

I would like to stress on my timezone, which is less common within the team. I wish to see the team have a better coverage over all timezones, especially during the server's downtime, which is important given the growing player base. By joining the moderation team, I aim to resolve this problem by providing more representation from the SEA region.

If you were the Mod Admin, what would you change about the server?

As a mod admin, I'd try to create a better communication between the team and the playerbase. I would discuss with my team to come up with better ideas on how decisions in moderation can be made more transparent. The existence of the team is to bring a safe and peaceful environment, so I do not see the reason as to why most verdicts and reasonings have to be hidden from the playerbase when it will provide better understanding.

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Sorvian sculpting is a unique craft that can be learned and practiced by any individual with a soul. By writing incantations using blood, a Sorvian sculptor can impart their soul essence onto a porcelain mask. This mask is then placed onto a suitable clay husk, thereby awakening the construct to a new life. The construct will obey the commands of its creator.

A husk is crafted by taking a wooden skeleton and encasing it in clay. To be suitable, it must have a humanoid shape. The mask, which is essential in this process, must be made of porcelain and designed with two eye holes and a mouth. It is possible to create a body with multiple limbs; however, the strength is divided among them. For example, if a Sorvian has four arms, each arm will possess only half the strength of a two-armed Sorvian.

There are three categories of Sorvians based on their size: Normal Sorvians, which range from 3ft to 6ft; Sorvian newts, which are between 2ft and 3ft; and harmless NPC Sorvian newts, which measure 1ft to 2ft.

In addition to creating new Sorvians, sculptors can revive and repair existing ones. Reviving a Sorvian involves either retrieving its original mask or crafting an identical replacement, then placing it on a suitable husk. Wounds on a Sorvian can be mended using clay infused with blood, although the Sorvian will never be restored to its original, perfect state.

Sculptors are capable of creating up to three Sorvians every three months, while a Sorvian can create only one during the same period.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Incanting:

This is by writing an unintelligible incantation onto the back of a Sorvian's mask. The writing simply comes to the sculptor, in which even they themselves do not understand. Once this process is finished, the sculptor will be left weakened.

Awakening:

By placing the incanted mask over a suitable husk, a dim blue glow will emit, giving life to the Sorvian.

Repair:

The procedure in which a sculptor mixes blood with clay. They will then take the blood-infused clay and carefully seal over the injury. For limbs, incantation of blood must be written at the end of it before being attached back onto the Sorvian. Although the Sorvian is repaired, their wounds will never perfectly heal.

Revival:

The sculptor either creates a identical replacement for the previous mask, or retrieves the old one. They must then incant, then awaken the Sorvian. Oddly, the husk will assume the Sorvian's previous features, down to the tiniest scars.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Example of incantation and awakening:

Mist-tracer takes up the porcelain mask, dipping his finger into a vial of blood. He then suddenly presses his finger onto the mask, scribbling an incantation that just came to him.  He limps over slightly, affected by the after-effects of imparting his soul essence onto the mask. Taking the mask, he places it over the face of the clay husk. A dim light emits from under the mask, before the Sorvian suddenly jolts to life.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Teaching repair:

 

"Student, you will be taught to repair today." Mist-tracer then proceeds to pick up the closest knife, using the tip to create a small cut on his palm. "Keep your mind clear, and listen carefully to my instructions. Take a lump of clay from the barrel, and a vial of blood on the table."

The student bobbed his head, swiftly pacing over to the work station to grab the two item which he is instructed to take. He places them on the table next to Mist-tracer, silently awaiting for the next instruction.

Mist-tracer briefly glanced over to the two items "Good. Take the vial, and pour it onto the clay. You will carefully knead it until it is mixed properly. Keep your eyes on the color." 

The student opens the vial and pours it over the clay. He then carefully kneads it until it is fully mixed.

"Well done. Fill up this cut of mine, feel your finger across the wound as you do it, make sure it is fully sealed."  Mist-tracer instructs, mimicking the action he just described

The student pinches out a estimated amount of clay needed, then presses it onto Mist-tracer's cut. He applies just enough strength, feeling his digit through the wound and sealing it.

Mist-tracer lifts up his hand, bringing it to his eye holes. "Hrmm . . jagged, a little. But it will do. We will try this again another time."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

 I will properly communicate with the student with the issue, OOCly reteach the part which they do not understand. If needed, I will also contact a Story member to inform them about it. However if they happen to repeat the mistakes numerous times out of bad faith, I will report it to an ST and drop them as a student.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Ghouls, emerged by the foul practice of necromancy and bound to the servitude of their raisers, are the deceased echoing who they once were. These creatures lament the living, devoid of the emotions that define humanity, yet capable of unique personalities. Weak to gold and fire, which cause them panic and immense pain, they exist as rotting corpses or walking skeletons, no longer needing human essentials like sleep or food. Though they possess the strength of an average human, ghouls are not particularly strong, serving as average undead minion.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look? 

A skeletal creature adorned in tattered rags that cling to its decaying form. Charred remnants of flesh cling to its bones.
