What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is the action of playing out a storyline. These storylines can vary between participants. Roleplaying can have a set storyline or the participants could make it up as they go along.
What is metagaming?: If one is metagaming they are using information, that should not be known to the character, in the characters storyline. When someone metagames they are basically telling their character information that the character should not know.
What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: If a player s power-emoting that player is describing an action using words. That player would likely use asterisks (*) to show that it is an action, not a statement.

Biography
My character would be dark elf. His name is Marcus Arillius. He carries a grudge against the High elves because of how they had mistreated his ancestors and how they forced his ancestors to fight in a war against their own brethren. Marcus enjoys the adrenaline rush that comes when he steals things from other people. He has made his name known on the island that is his homeland as a master thief and assassin for hire. Marcus likes to keep his cards close and not reveal things to anyone. He had been betrayed by one of his closest friends long before he chose to turn to a life of thievery and murder. He gained trust issues because of that betrayal. In order to keep these feelings hidden so he would not appear weak, he made himself a reputation built on fear and grudging admiration. Marcus learned after a 17 year stay in prison to complete his jobs cleanly and quickly. Mr. Arillius uses several knives as his choice of weaponry. These knives consist of throwing knives, saxe knives, and daggers. Marcus is not very goo when it comes to face-to-face combat. He would choose to lose his opponent, then circle behind his opponent and ambush him. Marcus is a very mysterious and rebellious man.
Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Marcus has a habit of picking up anything not nailed down. He is a bit of a kleptomaniac. He is addicted to adrenaline and does what ever he can to get that feeling coursing through his veins. Marcus only wears black clothing to help him blend in with the shadows. Marcus dislikes the laws of the land. He thinks they are restricting. Because of this, Marcus breaks laws as a bit of habit and just to be rebellious.
Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Marcus aspires to be a master thief or assassin. The adrenaline rush that he gets every time he commits a crime is addictive. It is so addictive, that he wants to spend his whole life doing it.
Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Marcus Arillius is extremely good at lock picking, sneaking around (hiding in the shadows), and fighting with knives.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) My character's weapons consist o different types of knives, so he depends on stealth attacks. This leaves him weak when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. He can hold an opponent off, but usually chooses to run. He later ambushes the opponent.
Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) My character has a classic dark elf skin (black or dark grey) color with red eyes. He has scars up and down his back arms after his time in prison. He chooses to wear dark robes and always keeps his hood up. He is about 6"5 tall.
