My parents never thought they would have a kid because of the curse of infertility. Because of this my parents never saved food or money. It was a shock when his mother discovered she was pregnant. Without me they were too poor to eat multiple meals a day, and with him there were some days when I was the only one who could eat. I have always been interested in history. I especially loved reading about the period of time where the elves were at war with each other. Though I really loved history, I always wanted to learn magic.
Knowing they couldn’t provide for me, they ran away one night while I was sleeping. All they left me was a green vest, a white shirt, a pair of brown pants, and a bag of food, mostly potatoes. I have worn those clothes ever since, so much that the white shirt has turned almost brown. I have always thought they left because of my love for reading because they always bought me books, so much that they would only eat every few days. Ever since I hide my love of knowledge when around others. I have taken up blacksmithing and I have spent my time reading and studying, most recently, The Treaty of Fiandria and other documents and objects from that era. Recently, I felt it was time to abandon my life living alone in the woods to go live among my fellow wood elves and take up learning the art of magic.
Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Haldrein has an irrational hatred for potatoes because to him they symbolize abandonment. He can be impulsive and childlike when with others. He likes adventure on occasion but he loves to sit out and look at the stars at night.
Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) He dreams of being a mage, but more importantly finding his parents.
Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) He is good at blacksmithing and adequate with a sword. He is relatively fast compared to some of the other races.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) He needs to work on his impulsive behavior when around others. This has gotten him in fights before.
