Geris was born in the outskirts of Carolustadt. He was taken in by a priest of the Church of Canon. His parents died soon after. Geris grew up being a devout believer of GOD and the Church. The church of the priest was on a remote path, far off from any human towns. Because of this, it was prone to attack. On Geris’ 12th birthday, he went out with the priest to collect some herbs for healing, but on their way, a band of orcs attacked them. They violently beat the priest while shouting in grubts at Geris. Geris was horrified as the orcs took him and the priest to their camp. Heads impales by wooden spikes surrounded him, as he made his made way to the orcs. Once there, the orcs decided that the priest was too old and too fat to be a slave. So, they tied him to a stick and slowly roasted him as Geris was forced to watch. From that day on, the screams of the priest as the orcs cooked him and ate him echoed throughout Geris’ head. The orcs took him to a dark-skinned man who was dressed in elegant silk robes. The man handed the orcs some coins and then signaled his guards. Before he knew it, Geris was in a wagon with his hands tied, and his eyes blind-folded. Geris spent the following years learning how to fight. From time to time, his master (the dark-skinned man) would reward him, and each time, Geris would ask for books about relegion and theology and a cross. Life was good for him. On his 18th birthday, his master arranged a fight for him saying “It will make you a man. Don’t forget who bought you from those filthy orcs. I gave you everything! This is what you’ve been training for.”. Lulled into a false sence of confidence by his master, Geris agreed. He was to fight a highlander man, much taller than him but much slower. Geris was always slim and nimble and he could dodge hits easily. “3, 2, 1, Go!” The master shouted. The highlander had a spiked mace and Geris had a knife and shield. As the fighting began, Geris would easily dodge the highly slow and easy to intercept attacks, getting in a stab whenever he could. The highlander suddenly turned around, grabbing hold of Geris’ foot and slamming him on the floor several times. The highlander paraded around the ring shouting at the cheering croud “Is this want you wanted? Is this what you came for?”.Geris stood up behind him. “Yeah!” the croud shouted. Out of nowhere, the highlander’s hand falls off. Geris standing behind it with blood dripping from his knife. Geris grabbed the highlander’s shoulder and tossed him backwords, picking up the mace with the hand still attached to it. He paced slowly towards the highlander and as the croud gasped in suprise, Geris dropped the mace on the highlanders face, over and over again. The croud’s suprise turned into excitment as they cheered him on. “Begone heretic! Begone faithless! Begone orc! Begone orc!” Geris shouted at the highlander’s bursting face. Panting, Geris stood up and ran. He ran to his camp where he found his master’s gear and took it. He found a blue coat which he always had had his eye on. On his way out he got stopped by his master, but in a fit of rage killed him. He has been wondering around and living in the streets doing odd jobs for farmers and sleeping in inns. It’s not much but it’s honest work, so Geris dosn’t mind. He always hears screams and a voice in his head due to the priest. He hopes to one day join the Church. Now, he wonders around helping people through out Atlas.
