  1. You seem to have quite an interesting approach to your events and from the prior comments you seem to be a lovely person, however just some feedback that you may  wish to consider for your application are as followed:

    1) Formatting: Try and be a little more specific, perhaps name your events? Also try to avoid dictation upon what the players might do in your events, as the outcome in such stories may be completely different than you originally anticipated. As an event team member you have to be prepared to make modifications to your story dependent on how your audience reacts.

    2) Repetition: This is not a major issue, but if you wish to improve your application there are aspects where you tend to repeat yourself; an example being where you explain why you wish to become an actor, you tend to repeat the word Roleplaying.

    3) Explain: When you go onto describe what your inspirations are, try to explain the reasons, perhaps what you seem to gain from watching films or what specifically you enjoy about the structure of the fantasy genre.

Bare in mind these criticisms were completely constructive and are only based from my own prospective, aside from the advice listed above I think your application was well written and I wish you the best of luck!

  2. From my personal experience, Lumiin is an absolute joy to be around, their roleplay is to an advanced degree and there is never a gloomy day around him, a true ray of sunshine if you've had a bad day. From looking at the event ideas I love the fact that they wish to create more lore based events and have a unique style. Definitely a true gain to the team!  +1

  3.

[!] Word spreads across the lands of Axios, a discovery of an venerable tome, blotched faded crimson droplets, some of the pages evidently torn from their confine of the book, written in a foreign language - perhaps to keep the contents of whatever was written away from the curious prying eyes of innocents. The tale continues to be spoken of a scholar travelling with said book about the lands of Axios in search of anyone whom might be able to muster the words in which are written.

One page that escaped its prison within the book is nailed upon a pillar within the city of Adelberg it reads:

Timent dormitabis, nam quod ad somnia vestra immunem meditor tinguere eius usque in sempiternum vigilantes tua omnis motus. Quid si noluerit sequi turbetur sis a io, non enim habbis semper somnum iterum

Wanted: The pages of a tome translated and whatever threat arrises, vanquished.

    Threat Level: Hard

    Suggested Party number: 3-6

Location: Outside of Adelburg, may need to cover the area to find specifically where.

Rewards: 1000 Mina if the pages are successfully translated and the threat vanquished.

Contact Torkoal_Tom in game, once the pages have been discovered.

  4. A great candidate for GM, has been on the server for roughly six years, has a very professional approach to situations and takes a step back to think about different approaches if faces with difficult things - this has been tested by myself. Hope you get it! +1

  5. Minecraft Name: Torkoal_Tom

    DiscordPrivate

    Time-zoneGMT

Do you, or have you held, any other staff positions? Please mention if you are intending on applying for GM as an ET:

No I have not, however I have helped some ET’s within their event by being an actor and have thrown ideas at Oncenoeda and L0rdT0mas (when needed).

Where do you grab inspiration from?:

Personally, I try to grab inspiration from wherever I can, if I can an idea from modern day aspects I sit and ponder the thought for a while and try to adapt it to the medieval style structure of the server, on top of this I am also an avid lover of books (Game Of Thrones, Lord Of The Rings and also a lesser known book series called I am a witch, and witches burn).Where I take notes of the certain styles and ways the author has set out their events within the book and what kind of impact it has on the reader (which is a style I would wish to take with me into my events, placing a sequence of events in the right place so that the players enjoy the story as best as they can). Another main inspiration would be music, as strange as it sounds I tend to listen to the tracks on repeat, carefully listening to their lyrics and piece together a story about the meaning of the song. For example, one of the songs in which I built a small event of (In which I shall write about below) is called Meet me on the battlefield - by SVRCINA.I also pull inspiration from people’s wants from an event (things that they would like to see in more events, or something they specifically enjoyed) due to the fact that in some aspects of my event I want the characters (players) to be able to relate and engage with a hint of emotion.

What are your current list of characters, and are you willing to sacrifice any?:

Yes (both), My main character is Quillian de Aryn (Serene) and (Currently still in the making) Thilallan Gromach both, in which I work with the same concept, if death happens then they die. I prefer to follow the simplicities of how death usually works despite how attached I become.

What race, or group, do your events best cater to?:

I like to cater to all groups, when it comes to my roleplay on Lord Of The Craft I don't seem to stay in the area of one specific racial category, I want to make events that will appeal to everyone in aims to bring people together who would not usually seem to come together in any other circumstance. However, there will always be that bit more understanding of the Mali’ame, my first and still current character falls under that racial category and by default something I have more of a thorough understanding of. Although I do like to challenge myself by approaching a different racial categories and conduct more research which would allow me to branch out my knowledge and base events of the things I learn.

What do you believe are the key factors for a successful event?:

Originality: Something that is a key factor, as personally a player who has taken part in many events there have been very little ideas that hadn’t had the similar concept or if so had their own unique twist to them; depending on the ET’s event style. Such a factor is important because you want to, as an event conductor, make the players engaged in your event and ensure that they partake with thorough enjoyment.

Dedication: The role of an event team member is something that does demand a lot of commitment which I am confident that most certainly should give; the reason I believe that this is a key factor is because if you do not ensure the right amount of time being pooled towards your event there may be aspects of it that are lacking - i.e plot holes and unexpected cliff-hangers.

A Sense of danger and consequence: When it comes to events there always has to be a sense of danger for things - their character, items and so forth - that they value; to make the players feel like their decisions matter - which they do. The way the players react upon the threat they are given can often branch out into many more possible endings, giving the players more of a creative freedom (to an extent) to essentially create an event for themselves and as an event member you have to be prepared for an ending that is completely opposite to what you’ve previously envisioned, should the players react differently to what you originally expected out of them.

Communication: This is one of the more important skills to grasp upon when it comes to being a part of the event team, due to the fact that there may be events on a scale requiring  multiple ET’s and without the ability to mediate and collaborate, there will be clashes within the storylines and planning.

In conclusion, there always has to be an equilibrium formed when honing certain writing and social skills for events as you need to find something that both you, personally, and your players enjoy/wish to partake in. The matters listed above are the ones that I feel are a necessity to make any event run smoothly.

What strengths would you bring to the team?:

The main strengths in which I can offer is that I am mostly active, I have a good way with people, as well as those who I would not usually get along with. I love to experience the different pallets of personas and how they can affect the ending of my events as well as capable of rallying things into action.  I also tend to be quite patient and hardworking when it comes to writing my event to assure that there are not plot holes and there are alternate endings in which could be lead up to depending upon the player’s choices. The ET’s I have helped also appreciated the collaborative efforts we had.

Why do you want to be part of the team?:

The sole reason I wish to be a member of the team is because I wish to give to Lord Of The Craft through my events, to make the players enjoy what the server has to offer to the best of their abilities. As well as creating  a small or ongoing event that will help the player’s characters develop more (if they wish to continue the affects of the events in the long run), another reason being I wish to work with the current members who have made my experience on Lord Of The Craft most enjoyable through their alluring and enjoyable events.

Create three distinct event scenarios based on the servers lore that you would organize:

    Thou shalt not sleep:

The lands calmed and full of clarity, a soft breeze whistles through the gentle hills of Ponce, but where it is all calm; something much darker always lingers. Rumours arise from the deserted lands, like the whispers were carried with the passing breeze and through the mouths of locals: A Game. The game of whispers. It is uttered that an unassailable Djinn lurks within a deep cavern, its whereabout lost to history - however the very few loyal locals that stayed, speak of strange occurances, their livestock dwindling, monstrous snarls piercing the dead of night..Those who went to investigate never seemed to have found their way back to their families..aside from one young man. Since his journey it seems that whatever occurred in those caverns changed him, now all he seems to utter is Thou shalt not sleep. . .

     A Faded Name:

A beautiful unmanned ship sails itself into the coast of Tahn, the water licks at the hull as the ship groans to a halt, the nearest occupants of the sandy shores gather together - blades at the ready - and advance towards the strangely quiet beauty. A soft breeze flickers through the sails, briefly flashing a sigil of a fox upon the mast, but as the men’s boots draw nigh still nothing seems to occur. Moments past as the men present clambered curiously upon the deck, however; what seemed to be a tranquil ship certainly did not feel as such for the poor men who boarded. They felt as if they were being watched, like something was breathing against their necks, dismissing the thought they traveled deeper into the ship’s bunks, shrouded in darkness, the only thing that could be seen were the silhouettes of the others. A deep groan occurred before the men felt a sharp burning sensation upon their wrists, once they had safely ran back upon the shore they saw that they each had different branded marks: three; a paw, a vial and a tear drop. With further investigation, like always rumors arise. . .It is said that these marks predict each man’s fate. . . The boat still seems to have not intentions of leaving. . .

    Embers

As the men and his comrades pushed through the gnarled branches of the forest, an amber glow would be seen emitting from a small village, the smoke spiraling into the cool air and desperate screams shrilled from the flames, as they closened the space between what lay before them and the village, a figure seems to dart towards the disturbed men, a glowing figure. The being was now mere inches from the men, a putrid scent of rotting flesh brewed in the area that surrounded them, at a closer inspection it seemed there was a villager, on his knees before them; skin charred and peeling back to the bone. Only one gargled word manages to choke from the man’s hoarse throat ‘Bandits’ before the life was sapped from his eyes and his corpse fumbled to the floor. Not knowing how to comprehend what the had just seen, the skeptical men worked with one another to extinguish the ruined village only to discover that the bandits were more than just your average men. . .

How long do you plan to be able to work on the team?:

I plan to be on the team for as long as you’ll have me, my studies are quite loose and my main studies get done within the time periods of, off peak times which allow me to have more freedom to conduct the events.

    Tell me a joke

What did Sushi A, say to Sushi B? Wassa-B!

  6. Out-Of-Character Information

Please do your best to correct spelling and grammatical errors, this is an RP server and writing is the main form of communication!

What’s your Minecraft account name?: Torkoal_Tom

What timezone are you in?: EST

    How old are you?: 18

Are you aware the content and interactions on this server may not be appropriate for children under the age of 13? (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Absolutely. It had already occurred to me that those types of interactions would occur.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: I certainly have.

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: For me, personally, it would be the disallowance of powergaming within roleplays. If it is my character then I will be the one who decides how they would act or what damage might come to them on a logical basis. Having someone else try to force their emotes upon me simply for the sake of having the upper-hand is abhorrent to me and something I despise.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): No, they're all very clear and understandable.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I've heard from several friends of mine about this server and decided to try it out.

Link(s) to past Whitelist Applications (If applicable): N/A

Have you logged into the server yet? (You cannot be whitelisted without logging in at least once): Yes.

    Definitions

Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! Plagiarizing will result in the automatic denial  of your application!

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is the act of creating a character that you inhabit and act as to build up a personal story for them and live out their lives as you see they would.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is the act of using information that you wouldn't have beforehand in roleplay thanks to OOC encounters. Examples of this include: Knowing the name of someone you've never heard of/met, knowing the character's inner motives after having just met them, et cetera.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is the act of forcing your emotes onto someone as to control what happens to their character or how they're going to emote.

    In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

    Character’s name: Flynn Silva

    Character’s sex: Male

    Character’s race: If possible, a half-high elf/human hybrid.

    Character’s age: 25

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): Born to a High Elf mother and a Human father in the year 1592, Flynn is, easily, the child of an odd combination. His mother was not like other High Elves. She did not hold herself in such high regard with arrogance but instead enjoyed the company of other races and thought herself to be on the same level as them. This was how she met Flynn's father one day while he was traveling through Taliyna'maehr to trade his furs. Instead of just treating him like a merchant, she treated him like a friend. Eventually the two fell in love and produced a child. They all lived in peace for a time on the outskirts of the city of Taliyna'maehr, the capital of the High Elves. Flynn's father worked as a hunter and a fur-trader while his mother was an apothecary and botanist. However, that all changed one day when Flynn's father, in an effort to survive the winter, accidentally killed a farmer's pig that had gotten loose. Before any kind of trial could take place his parents fled with Flynn from the city while he was a mere ten years old and made a new home in Laureh'lin, the home of the wood elves. The forestry of the area called to them and even though they got some odd looks, they lived happily and continued to live their previous lives. Nature was their calling and, like a moth to the flame, it became Flynn's. His passion for nature evolved into the study and appreciation of it but also the protection of it. He noticed how those around him easily destroyed nature simply to harm it and this angered him. He knew he needed to do something but he knew he had not the strength to do it. However, perhaps nature had the strength to protect itself under Flynn's guidance?

This is what set him out on his path. Upon turning eighteen he set out into the world and began his quest. He now treks across the land in search of making himself a powerful druid to protect the land, the trees, the grass, all of it. He will not let harm befall nature and will do anything to protect it from any threats that decide to lay themselves down upon it. His first large encounter with such an event was in 1615 when the Undead sieged the land. In their wake came destruction of nature which angered Flynn and encouraged him to take up arms and fight in any way he could. Once cast away and back from whence they came, Flynn's anger died and faded but his conviction stayed true. He would continue his quest but something new had been awakened in him. The taste of fighting, the smell of the opponent's blood on his dagger, the pure rush of it all excited him. He had learned to like fighting and possibly even killing but still viewed the act as a last resort. He still continues his quest as a changed man but is still walking the land, regardless.

Personality Traits: Flynn is something of a snarky and sarcastic man, often using his words to fight as much as his weapons. His intellect is also a large factor of him as he ends up looking at most situations logically and tactically before making even a single move, fighting and flirting alike. While he proves to be somewhat awkward in certain social situations he can also charm the socks off of a vagabond and sell ice to an inhabitant. He has a large soft spot in his heart for animals and often tries to make friends with any that he can which can sometimes be a bad thing in group confrontations where animals are involved. The way his parents were treated by the High Elves of Taliyna'maehr has also lead to have some semblance of hatred for kings, queens, monarchies, rules in general. He also has a deep-seeded hatred for the Undead as he views them to be going against the natural laws set by nature but will not outwardly act on this hatred if he can help it.

Ambitions: Flynn, on a very basic level, aspires to protect nature. He will accomplish this in any way he can which, currently, he views as being able to be done by becoming a powerful druid. However, he also wishes to be free. He desires to live out from the under the thumb of oppressive authority so that he may live his life his way without suffering possible repercussions.

Strengths/Talents: Flynn has a large intellect (excelling in mostly knowledge of nature), being of High Elf origin has also given him a natural proficiency with magic, he can speak multiple languages including common, Elvish, and Sylvan (Fey language), he also possesses an incredibly charismatic personality that rivals even the most skilled conmen.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Flynn, by no means, is an excellent melee fighter. In fact, he's actually quite average at it. His chances in a fight are also further dampened by the fact that he has no training at all with long range weaponry and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside. He also lacks a good level of dexterity meaning his speed and agility are lacking as well. His love of animals has also been known to get him in trouble as he's put them before his comrades in a fight.

Appearance: Flynn, by measure, is 6 feet tall in height and of an average build. He's neither ripped or flabby; just flat. Golden locks adorn his head, ears poking out, which he keeps in a neatly styled but windswept hairdo that convey the natural freedom he desires but also the intellectual and logical side to him. Upon his pale frame is a coat of forest green with Elvish-esque designs on them that also resemble certain nature designs. Inside his head are a pair of emerald green eyes that only further show his connection to nature.
