Character’s name: Ser Phillipe d'Amelie
Character’s sex: Male
Character’s race: Human Heartlander/Highlander mix
Character’s age: 29
Biography: Born in 1588 to a Heartlander woman and a Highlander man in Metz, Phillipe was but a simple boy making his days as a merchant's son at day and a haughty youth at night. Unfortunately, after his father came into financial ruin when the shepherd he imported most of his wool from lost his entire herd to wolves, his father decided to give Phillipe to a monastic order in exchange for enough money to begin anew. Phillipe spent many of his days working hard at the monastery, scrubbing floors, practicing his letters, and, after proving himself a virtuous enough young lad when, at twelve, he defended a peasant girl from two larger boys insulting her and hurting her. Though he gained many bruises that day, Ser John Tallahan, one of the knights at the monastery, took him on as squire. They ranged around, assisting peasants being harmed by bandits, and Ser John instilled in Phillipe a number of traits: diligence, patience, charitability, but above all Phillipe was taught to defend the innocent, the people who could not protect themselves.
Ser John knighted him after five years of service and gave Phillipe a trusty sword nicknamed 'The Protector of Innocents' as a farewell gift. Phillipe set off to find his way, and for nine years he did, fighting bandits, protecting people. However, his meddling did not go unnoticed, and when he went to answer a plea for help from a tiny hamlet, he was ambushed, attacked by multiple bandits, and left for dead without his sword. He managed to limp back to Chambery, where a local doctor healed him. Phillipe fell into a deep depression, doing odd jobs to pay for his drinking habit that had sprung up. When he was at his lowest, he met a man preaching the Church of Canon. after some personal talks with the priest, Phillipe finally felt renewed and decided to return to his old ways, to take up the sword and once more defend the innocent.
Personality Traits: Diligent, patient, and a stout defender of the innocent, Phillipe is not all good. He has a bad drinking habit he has only recently managed to get rid of, and he is very proud. He also dislikes Metz, as it reminds him of his past as a youth. He also has a somewhat gruff way about him, too, due to John's teachings.
Ambitions: He simply aspires to protect the innocent.
Strengths/Talents: strong sense of morals, an excellent sword arm due to years of use (slightly atrophied recently) and is built well due to his father.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: drinking problem (recently gotten rid of, temptation still there) dislikes Metz, hatred towards any criminal that harms people makes it impossible to negotiate. Not diplomatic; often says what is upon his mind.
Appearance: Well built, with broad shoulders and a strong chest. 6'7" tall. His face, which would be considered conventionally handsome with his strong, rugged jaw, brown eyes, almost black hair, and a good nose, were it not for the ugly scar given to him by the bandits that stole his sword stretching from temple to cheek.
Skin:
