Giving this a +1, merely because I see potential in it turning out as a success. 

Virre glared on the pages, shivering, for he had met the lady. He stood like that, frightened, shivering, with only one thought going through his head "Why her?".

After an hour he gathered his confidence enough to pick the pages up, starting to go through them, his hands slightly shaking as he did.

As he was done with the reading he slowly and gently put the pages back into the pond, other thoughts had now found its ways into his head: "That's why she was tired... But o lord, I should've helped her more, I should've been more persistent". He shook his head in regret, thinking little about the  runes.

He sat there for many an hours, just thinking. Thinking about what he could've done and should've done. Later he fell in a worried sleep.

Next day he examined the scene again, now taking notice to the runes. He furrowed a brow at the strange text, not understanding a single 'word'. He left the scene, filled with regret, but he had his mind set to only one thing: To find and save Lady Af Markev

I reckon he'll learn the commands that are necessary and make a good job creating a pleasant experience.
