His parents passed when he was younger his mother died of sickness when he was ten and his father was mauled by a forest animal (Zion has always assumed it was a bear) when he was sixteen. His family, being all, Raevir found their livelihood in farming the season crops and hunting the local game. They went to the market once a month to sell their wares to the local militias and townsfolk. After their deaths Zion packed up what he could and began to travel the world keeping a journal of his adventures. He spent 6 years traveling with a merchant band of Elfs and Humans (a lively mixture of wood Elfs Farfolks) and and learned Elvish (hence the tattoo), he later found himself on a merchant ship being a translator and ship financier. He spent the next ten years of his life on board the ship LIMBO traveling from human towns, to Drawrven fortresses ( his favorite visited place being the Drawf captial of, Kal' Tarak) and even Elfven high cities. Documenting his travels in detail. He would later move on to publish “My life in ink: A Traveler’s guide to traveling.” Zion filled the book with pictures of hand drawn pictures towns, maps, all sorts of strange fruits and vegetables, and quick but delicious recipes that will rekindle anyone’s spirit (Paying for the printing of the book out of his own pocket.) Zion, now approaching his 35th birthday decided finally to leave them LIMBO. Settling in small town Zion opened a small store where he sold pretty much anything he could get his hands on for a low price. For a brief period, he enjoyed the life of a land merchant, however, when word came to him that the captain of the LIMBO had passed away and that the crew would take no one else as their new captain except him Zion sold his store for a fraction of what it was worth and began his even briefer period of being a ship captain. A few months into his captaining his ship was attacked by pirates. Zion’s crew were clearly more experienced than them, but they outnumbered three to one. His crew did manage to defeat the pirates, but their ship was quickly sinking. Zion on a lifeboat with six other members drifted for a month with little provisions. Zion made us of his wit gathered rainwater in his flask and only took sips a day. Some of the men died because of their injuries, others dehydration, they were all tossed aside after a quick prayer. He eventually washed up on shore along with three other members, they however decided to remain on the shore and track the local animals for food and water. After saying their goodbyes Zion headed off into the forest in search of a warm bed and a hot meal that wasn’t sun dried fish.
