Living in Leyu'celia with her family the 'Nightrunner' - as the 4th child she has been somewhat neglected, this has made Velnarta constantly seeking attention and approval from her family and peers. Ambition is one of her stronger traits because of wanting to live up to her parent's standards, she had grown close to her older sibling Ressira - who is seen as the 'model example' to live up to. The Nightrunners are religious and praises not only their ancestors but also their Chieftains heavily, this is something that Velnarta takes seriously - she wears a tiara that her family believes to be originally owned by her great ancestors and she does not take this off, ever. Velnarta developed traits of being empathetic and emotionally-driven because of her upbringing: neglected and constantly trying to prove herself to stop being compared to her siblings; this helps her to relate to others of the same upbringing and history. Ever since she was young, her parents trained and helped her in Martial Arts - this was the only thing they paid attention about Velnarta and so she aspires to know everything about the art of war and how to wield the information and techniques she knows. Velnarta hopes this helps to put more of her parent's attention on her if she is successful.
