  1. Realm of Nifelheim "Adjudication by Immolation." The sea before Nifelheim lay rowdy and roaring, with the young despot overlooking its tantrum from atop his tower. “The sea lays waiting for us to impregnate her with our fine seamen.” He would remark to himself. Lopt then would sign the order for the construction of a new dockyard where ships of the line will be produced. Furthermore, 500 additional heavy infantry with marine training will be recruited. Later in the year he would be greeted by three consorts, but would agree to marry Riand Nortte, the daughter of a noble of Camlorn, hoping to bring the two dynasties closer together. 2. Realm of Nifelheim "Adjudication by Immolation." Lopt lay mourning over his late wife’s bed. Although the restorationists said that there was nothing left to be done, he could not believe them. Regardless, reality would prove cruel and he would be left without a wife, and much worse, no one to mother his children. Shortly afterwards, as diplomacy dictates, Lopt would seek another wife. This year would mark the settling of the eastern province by the Bretons. They would move in earlier in the year accompanied by 2000 light infantry and 500 light cavalry. As well, this year would mark the elevation of the College of Calaster to the University of Calaster. This elevation is necessary with the opening of a new wing: The Mages Guild. With their previous dissolution, Calastar would offer them a new home. He would send out invitations to nearby and distant realms for suitable consorts. The coronation of the lady of Calastar was a beautiful ceremony with illusionists performing great feats to entertain the guests while delicious food was offered to the guests. The humble lady now takes her place at her husband’s side and is gracious for her elevation into true nobility. The military performed rounds of exercise and drill under the new Imperial general who would show them discipline. Lopt would ask the general to develop legionary tactics for his men. Lopt, currently being the archmage of the college, would recruit 30 alterationists the state (-6 AP) Lopt would then meet with his steward. “Gromindal, I realize your age is beginning to wear on you, but I trust your abilities are still sharp, after all, you served by adoptive father’s father. Nonetheless, I wish for you to begin construction of a mine in the great peak which dominates our landscape. I wish for the newly recruited mages to assist in the construction, as they would be invaluable in the art of telekinesis.” The steward nods and makes his way out. Lopt would sign a tax reform, installing a new progressive tax. Lopt would then make his way over to the college, and when signing documents for recruitment he looks over tomes that he has read in the past with his previous tutor. 6. Realm of Nifelheim "Adjudication by Immolation." Lopt’s education in military strategy was under swift development with the Imperial general. Surely he would have much to learn from the renown legions of Cyrodil. Perhaps some battle strategy and tactics would be learned. He would turn to other matters. The expansion to the north did leave something to be desired back home in Calastar. He would begin economic stipulation in the city, investing into manufacturing and commercial development of the middle class of citizens. He would renew old acts, but hold off on signing any new pieces of legislation into acts for this year as he wished not to flood the realm with reform. In light of the orc advancements in High Rock, Lopt would begin training of defensive tactics including siege defense tactics for the army. He would then begin training of the light cavalry to develop lancing tactics as well as development of a diamond formation. The entirety of the school would be in session with several Bretonnian natives attending for now, with few foreigners who had pledged. Who were these orcs to be so confident and rash. Surely they would be insane to assault the mountainous realm of the Bretons. They would find nothing but death, and a painful one at that. It would be prudent to further bolster the army and continue patrols. The letters of thanks received from our trade partners indicate wisdom in that decision. He would hear the senile steps of the old steward approaching. "Gromindal, I want you to announce my seeking of a bride. I believe it will be most beneficial to obtain a consort for the realm and find a suitable mother for my heirs." The old man would nod, "Yes my lord, but what will you do about the rejection of the orcs?" "Nothing, for now. We do not know their intent, but we will prepare for the worst. "Impossible, their numbers are likely depleted from the plague, surely they are more prudent," Brotleichter would retort. "Prepare for war, but offer peace," would Sleiptir idly say. Gromindal would rise as though to speak, but Artorial would cut him off, "No, we must offer war, we cannot trust the heathen orcs with any offer of peace, for all they know is war." Lopt sat with one hand perched on his chin and another resting on the chair's armrest. He watched the deliberation with moderate interest, and in the end dismissed the council. He returned to his chamber, where he went over the treaties from the lords of Wayrest and Camlorn. He would sign letters of gratitude and order the first caravans to begin their trek. He then looked out his window unto the foundation of the college. The college of Calastar would be grand and a grand college would befit a grand city. He would sign additional allotment of funds to the construction of the college for this year. He would then consider the predicament of the orcs. If left unchecked, they might grow into a nuisance, but if apprehended unjustly, then he would seem a tyrant. He would order the levying and training of additional troops, but stay his hand and order them to patrol the land rather than perform any offensive maneuvers. 10. Realm of Nifelheim "Adjudication by Immolation." The icy winds blow against the hard rock of the peak upon which Calastar dwells. The inhabitants sport fur coats and take shelter which each coming breeze. The wharfs boast might fishing vessels which withstand the chaotic tides which crash upon the rocky shores. The central tower overlooks the growing town, with observant eyes. These eyes belonged to Lopt, of the house of Merovingian, the newly crowned count of this seaside realm. He looked onward with yellow eyes, his face glistening in the silver light which shone through the stained glass. The sigil of the magic eye would cast its shadow upon the humble chamber, lined with books of every discipline. His desk was cluttered with several scrolls that had yet to be complete and signed. He sighed and rose, he paced upon the stone floor. His visage was peculiar in the land of the Bretons. His face sharp, even for a Breton, and his ears pointed like knives. He rubbed his hairless chin and occasionally ran his hand through his long, auburn hair. "Gromindal!" He called out, but he feared the hollow halls would not carry his voice. His fear was subdued as the venerated man appeared in the doorway. 'Yes, maester?" Lopt pondered for a moment, in thought, "I believe it prudent to send scouts to the nearby regions, we have grown far too secluded on this rock. Additionally, I wish for you to send envoys to the nearby realms, in hopes of achieving some commercial agreement and possibly treaties." "Anything else, my lord?" the elderly man would ask. "Ah yes, and do begin construction on the college I promised my tutors, we shall make Calastar an intellectual capital in High Rock. Perhaps even the Elves will come to learn," he would finish with a short laugh, abruptly cut by the awkward steward's grin. "Very well, my lord, I will see to it." The lord of Calastar would return to the book ajar on his desk, reading of High Rock's histories while he peered over arcane studies.
