Korroth was born the son of a blacksmith in the Kingdom of Renatus. While he was fascinated by his father’s craft, he took little interest in the actual processes of blacksmithing. He was far more concerned with the final product and what it would be used for once completed. The Knights he would see filled him with excitement, and he would dream of his father one day building him a suit of armor and a sword to wield as a knight-errant, venturing across the land to uphold justice. He fantasized and idealized this idea for years before one day seeing up close what the reality of his dream was. A murderous and insane necromancer had been secretly living in his town, and authorities had finally traced the evidence to its source. He happened to be walking through a market when he saw the confrontation between the necromancer’s reanimated puppets and the town guards. People fled in all directions, but Korroth was paralyzed with fear. The necromancer was attempting to flee while his flesh servants held off his pursuers. He was fatally injured, and upon seeing Korroth standing there, the necromancer began siphoning the young boy’s life force. Almost immediately after he began to channel his dark spell, a guard drove a sword through the dark magicians chest. Korroth dropped to the cobblestone ground, shivering and afraid. The incident scarred him mentally, leaving him with an intense fear of magic, and a burning drive to become strong enough that he would never have to feel so powerless ever again.
