The Cyrillian Council

6th of the Amber Cold, 1726

Upon the ascension of a monarch to the Iron Throne of Curonia a council of trusted peers has always been formed since times of old in order to help aid, guide, protect, and serve HIS MAJESTY, the King, and his beloved subjects. 

With the war of Two Emperors now long come to a close, a new empire brought anew and forged by the leaders of mankind, and peace established throughout the lands of Arcas, HIS MAJESTY, King Pierce I Devereux has seen fit to establish his council of peers just as his ancestors before him have done.
 

By royal decree, the following positions are hereby reaffirmed and granted to those individuals who have served the crown dutifully and without fail.  

Chancellor

The role of Chancellor is that of utmost respect and importance in the Kingdom. Often standing in for the King in meetings, receiving foreign diplomats when HIS MAJESTY is otherwise occupied, and speaking with HIS MAJESTYS authority on all matters of importance.
 

The position of Chancellor is hereby granted to Lord Luc Adelheid Halcourt. (@Cuckfederacy)

Commander of the Royal Army

Leader of the armed forces, the Commander of the Royal Army is the supreme authority in all matters militaristic for HIS MAJESTY, the King. They are charged with the task of maintaining a standing military at all times for the Kingdom and protecting its lands from foreign threats. 

The position of Commander is hereby reaffirmed to Ser Charles Montagne. (@Dawsy)

Grand Knight

The Grand Knight of Curonia is charged with overseeing, regulating, and appointing the knights of the realm. Through them, the chivalric codes of the Kingdom are upheld and followed by all those worthy enough to call themselves Knight or Dame. The Grand Knight is also tasked with upholding the laws and legal procedures of the Kingdom in the name of HIS MAJESTY, the King.

Chamberlain

The Chamberlain is the keeper of HIS MAJESTY, the King’s court. They are tasked with arranging and hosting balls, festivals, court sessions, and other stately functions. Candidates for court positions such as the Court Physician or Master of the Hunt are also presented by the Chamberlain for approval by the other members of the council and the King.

Seneschal

The Seneschal of Curonia is in charge of all forms of housing distribution, housing laws, city upkeep, city projects, city planning, and shop distribution. The Royal Treasury and the economic stability and health of the Kingdom are also apart of their duties.

Third Alcalde Elections of Curonia

With the time of Ser Everette Landes as Alcalde coming to a close, the diplomatic season is amidst us once more. The position of Alcalde is one of clear renown and note in the city, with many great leaders taking up the mantel and getting their first steps into the roles of figureheads in the Kingdom. The office of Alcalde is required to perform many tasks for the Kingdom of Curonia and its’ people. As the prime pathway for citizens to communicate to the Council, The office has many responsibilities which include the following:

• Stewardry: Manage housing under the supervision of the Seneschal. 

• Shop Management: Aid in leasing & managing shops.

• Receive & process opinions on Curonia and its’ Council

• Host Events each Saint Week in Avalain.

  • (If at least one event is not hosted each saint week, the Alcalde will be dismissed from their position and new elections will be held in order to find a candidate who can meet these requirements)

To our most loyal subjects,

United we face the forces of the tyrant. The Pertinaxi have wronged us in the past and would see us chained once again to their heels, like rabid dogs to be wantonly loosed upon even more innocents, women, and children. Faced with this incredible hardship, our people have come together to secure our liberty and our prosperity for our progeny–that our sons and daughters, and their sons and daughters, might enjoy peace in their time.

Yet not all have our best interests at heart. Princess Anabel Devereux–eldest daughter of the late King Wilhelm I Karl Devereux and his loving wife Queen Evelyn Devereux nee Falkenrath–has served our country for many a great year in the past, but she serves her people no more. Together with her husband, a member of the bloodthirsty Pertinaxi dynasty, she has cast aside the bear’s people.

Instead of helping to lead her people through this turbulent time, and dedicating her life to such public service, she has sought her own self-service. The Pertinaxi have decreed her Queen of Curonia,  despite the fact that there are a dozen others in line to the throne before her. Truly, we weep over the loss of good Anabel, who previously spent her time teaching the children of our nation in the Royal Academy.

Those days have unfortunately come to an end.  The Pertinaxi appointment of Anabel as a self-proclaimed Queen holds no weight and carries no authority. We no longer bow to the Pertinaxi traitors, who would evidently seek to put someone thirteen steps down the line of succession on our throne if it meant their treachery could have some semblance of legitimacy.

From this day forth, Anabel is hereby disowned as a member of the royal family. Her title of princess stripped; her line forever disinherited; her authority, lands, wealth, and citizenship revoked. The crime of High Treason is placed upon her head. No longer shall she walk in our halls, our city, and within our lands, until the day that she inevitably repents her sin.

We are not merciless as the Pertinaxi. When they sacked Senntisten, seat of the long-dead King of Marna long ago, they slaughtered babes still clinging to the breasts of their mothers. In recent days, they burned an entire city of good folk for the crimes of a few, when Prince of Bandits Yuriy Pertinaxi marched on Ves. Truly, their tyranny is endless. We pray that Anabel might see that she is but a pawn in the hands of a despot, and return home. We would forgive her, for she is but a lost sheep.

But the Bear will not forgive Godfrey and his ilk, for their sins are abhorrent.

A Traitor’s End

The people of Curonia have assembled beneath the mighty banners of the green and white. In the royal palace of Avalain a special session of court has been called. Gathered one and all, peasant, merchant, soldier, noble, etc., all have come to hear His Majesty King Alfred II Edgar of House Devereux speak.

“Citizens of Curonia, of Arbor, Drakov, Artois, and Warwick. We find ourselves in a time war. Our banners have been raised and our armies called forth to help put an end to the Pertinaxi Rebellion.”

The king would gaze around the grand room at the amassed assembly.

“Together we have stood in trying times before, just as any nation of great significance like ours has. We have faced many a great foe since the times of my father and his father. Yet, despite the numerous attempts to undermine our sovereignty, to test our power, and to crush our spirits, we have never failed. We have met our enemies on the field of battle every time we have been tested! And every time we have come home victorious!”

The young King would wait for the loud applause of the room to die down before going on.

“Together we have faced these times. Together we have forged a path for Curonia and its people. Together we have paved the way for peace and prosperity to grace our Kingdom for decades!”

Alfred would then point to a series of large braziers set before the dais in a perfect line. Each one filled with the banners of the traitorous and disgraced Houses of Merentel and Keint.

“As most of you are well aware, the Houses of Keint and Merentel no longer wish to share in our glorious story. They have cast aside their oaths, attacked our leaders and troops on the fields with the Pertinaxi Rebellious scum, and turned traitor to their own brothers and sisters!”

The throne room would fill with the sound of cruses and hisses. The face of all those present adorned with a scowl at the cowardly traitors.

“I shall not let these transgressions go unpunished! Their lands are hereby forfeit! Their titles and riches revoked! All members of their families disgraced and charged with high treason!”

The room would fill with the sound of applause and cheer.

“We shall march to their lands, lands that belong to us! We shall cast down the traitors who forsake their oaths and all of standing here for the empty promises of power! We shall rise together like a sea of green and white, united in blood, bone, and soul to rectify the wrongs they have committed against our Kingdom!”

With that, the King would take a torch and move down from the dais to the floor. Standing by the center Brazier, with his council member lined up beside him, each carrying a torch of their own, he would look out to the crown one last time.

“Ave Curonia!”

With that, the King would place his torch in the large brazier. The banners of Merentel and Keint catching ablaze quickly as the flames erupted upward. Each councilor would then quickly follow suit until all pyres were set ablaze and the room was filled with the sound of applause and cheer.

Be it from the lowest of peasants to the highest of the aristocracy, each individual lives, contributes, and serves the Kingdom of Curonia from birth till death. A true honor to serve brother and sister, to serve King and country! For what could fill an individual's heart more than seeing the fruits of their service and labor come into fruition and receive the recognition they duly deserve.

The House of Keint has forsaken these ideals. They have betrayed their oaths to the very crown they serve by taking the side of the Pertinaxi Rebellion. They have turned against his Majesty the King, Alfred II Edgar of House Devereux, and his council. They have turned on their brothers and sisters of the Green and White! What is a man or woman if they have no honor? That is simple; they are nothing. The actions of House Keint have shown they not only are traitors to the very core but that they are also no longer fit to call themselves the blood of the Bear.
 

Those who have sworn to the traitorous former house shall not have to bare the ill that their former lords have brought before them. His Majesty King Alfred understands that those of you who serve the once dignified House of Keint have oaths of your own to the former Lord who once served you. Yet, why should you follow a man who cannot even adhere to his own oaths of allegiance? Why should the good bannermen and women of House Keint serve and die for a man who has cast aside his oaths and honor to serve another for nothing more but empty promises of greater power? The Lord Keint was sworn to the King of Curonia. He was bound to serve his liege lord just as you are bound to serve yours. Yet, he has decided to instead forgo these oaths and take pledge in the form of high treason. Should you disagree with these actions, know that there is no need to follow the traitor any longer. Come home to your brothers and sisters of the green and white.   
 

From this day forth, House Keint is hereby stripped of all lands, titles, riches, and rights within the lands of the Kingdom of Curonia. The title of Lord of Blackden, the once honored seat of House Keint shall hereby be forever held by His Majesty the King of Curonia. No longer shall it ever reside or return to the hands of traitors. The royal sanctioned levy of House Keint is hereby also disbanded. All members of the once noble family are hereby accused of high treason and as such will be executed upon sight within the lands of Curonia.

With this, the King’s will and God’s will shall hereby be done! Let those who betray the Crown and Heaven’s Light be cast down!

Like I said in the post I do not check my end chest like ever unless I need something from it. Today happened to be one of those days. I do understand it has been a long time frame so if it such an issue then I understand not having this fixed.

**Description**
 I switched personas and ended up in the same place my elf was at on my human. I knew that was a large bug . . but I didn't think much of it until today when I noticed that my end chests on both personas are the same now ( yeah that is why this is a really late bug post as I don't check my end chests that often). Now I have the same end chest on both characters, which totally wiped my whole other personas end chest full of my vault items.

 04/13/2019  (this is when I'm pretty sure it occurred) 

**In game specifications**
I was on my elf character Avia and tried to switch over to my human Klaudia after the wedding I was at was over. But as soon as I clicked my other persona I did end up changing to Klaudia just that I was in the same spot Avia had been. I should have switched back over in Curon where I last logged off on Klaudia. 

**Steps to Reproduce**

3. Change to that persona but be in the same place as your previous one even though you shouldn’t be there.

My human persona was teleported/bugged so I ended up in the same place as my elf persona.

I would really appreciate it if I could get back all of the items that were wiped out of my separate personas end chest. I lost all of my vault items from this.

First Alcalde Elections of Avalain

With the last years of Alcalde Reynauld Silversteed’s term in office finally coming to a close it is once again time for a new alcalde to be voted in by the people of the Kingdom.

The alcalde is the person the people want to represent them within the council of the Kingdom of Curonia, bringing the people's concerns and worries to the council.

Expectations  of the Alcalde

• Stewardry: help assign housing and enforce evictions.

• Shop management:  assist in managing shops and renting.

• Report to the council on concerns of the people.

• Host an event each saints week.

The Grand Exchange of Avalain

Having founded the great city of Avalain, the Council of Curonia establishes the Curonian Union in the Grand Exchange of Curon, located on the northeast side of the main square. The Grand Exchange shall sell royal supplies, including metals, foods, and gems. Space in and around the bottom floor of the grand exchange shall also be available for Curonian entrepreneurs to sell their supplies.

The second floor of the Grand Exchange shall be dedicated to the Curonian Union. The Curonian Union provides an alternative way to pay taxes to the Kingdom of Curonia. Citizens and members of the Curonian Union may exchange wheat, gems, iron, gold, and other valuable supplies in order to receive tax slips in reward for their donations. Membership into the Union may be achieved by owning taxable property and paying a one time 300 mina membership fee. Membership in the union provides members with a donation crate on the second floor and also allows them the privilege of buying limited edition saint monthly items produced by the royal treasury. Membership also provides members with the opportunity for selection onto the Union Board of Executives by the Chairman of the board.

Royal Ordinances For Housing

Ordinance 1

      1.) All person living with the Kingdom of Curonia shall be held responsible for paying a mandatory saint’s weekly property tax.

               a.) A citizen of the Kingdom who is an Active Member of the Royal Army shall be exempt from all forms of taxes so long as that they live within the city’s barracks.

               b.) All properties within the Kingdom of Curonia shall cost a purchasing fee of 200 mina no matter the size, location, or value of a house or shop.

                           i.) All citizens of the Kingdom shall be required by law to pay a set tax based upon the value of their owned property.  

                c.) Taxes shall be collected every Saturday and are due by 3 pm EST

                d.) All persons who fail to pay their property taxes by the specified due date shall be issued a three-day eviction notice.

                           i.) In order to avoid eviction, a steward must be contacted by an evictee where a set fine of 500
mina will be issued to the owner of the property for negligence and tax evasion. 

Ordinance 2

     1.) All house and shop owners shall be allowed to decorate the inside of their homes/shops as they deem fit.

               a.) None of the original walls, floors, windows, doors, and ceilings may ever be changed unless specifically approved by the Lord Steward. 

Ordinance 3

     1.) In no manner shall any building’s exterior be altered or changed in any way by the owner of a property.

               a.) If a person wishes to request and have something changed or fixed to the outside of their house, a steward must be contacted and then give approval for such.

Ordinance 4

     1.) No additions (defined as any extra rooms that go beyond the original walls and floors of a building) may ever be added to a property.

               a.) If a citizen believes they need more room in their house for any legitimate reason, they may apply to the Royal Stewardry Offices for an expansion to their property.

                           i.) Those who apply for an expansion of property will be asked to fill out a brief letter of documentation and intent to the Stewardry Offices. The brief letter should outline the purpose of the desired expansion along with a reasonable explanation to why it is needed.

               b.) If an expansion is approved by the Lord Steward, it shall follow a strict set of guidelines for how it is to be built and completed.

                             i.) The expansion of a house will always be built in the form of a basement.

                            ii.) The length, width, and height of an expansion will not exceed the parameters of the original structure.

                           iii.) The expansion must be built with the same materials and in the same style in which the rest of the property has been constructed. 

                            iv.) A set fee, based upon the size and purpose of an approved expansion, shall be enforced by the Royal Stewardry Offices upon the property owner. This fee must be paid before any construction can begin on an expansion.

                             v.) The taxes of a property shall be increased after the construction of expansion is complete. This shall be based upon the size and final value of the expansion. 

                            vi.) A steward will be allowed to check the progress of an expansion at any time during or after construction to ensure all guidelines have been followed.

                           vii.) If the property owner is found to have broken any of the regulations set forth in this ordinance, a hefty fine will be issued by the Stewardry Offices to the negligent party.   

Royal Coronation of Curonia

As the sun shines in the windows filling the Cathedral with a golden light. The smell of fresh cut flowers down the aisle, the preparation for the royal coronation of King Wilhelm I of House Devereux and Queen Evelyn of House Devereux have been finalized.

The couriers hastily deliver invitations to each of the Empire’s vassals and the capital, all citizens and nobles alike invited to witness the first coronation of the Kingdom of Curonia.

~The First Summit of Cyrilsburg~

Sitting by the candle light of an early springs night, Klaudia sat peering over the documents set before her. Laying the quill in her hand down on the desk, the Grand Ambassador of Cyrilsburg would give the documents a last look over. Finally satisfied with the parchments contents, the council woman quickly set forth to sealing the many letters with a deep green wax seal. Moving to reach for her official stamp, the diplomat pushed it down within the hot wax, marking the missives with the insignia of a mighty bear.

The County of Cyrilsburg does hereby cordially invite the members of the Common Civic Party of Parliament and the Curonic Voting Block to the First Summit of Cyrilsburg. A historic and monumental meeting that shall be hosted by the Curonian Council and Count Wilhelm Devereux. This gathering of fellow allies and mutual confidants is to be yet another step in the deepening of our two peoples common bond and friendship. Indeed, this conference will be that of like minded individuals who can transcend the woes and transgressions of others in order to come together and form a strong and united front. One that is willing and able to fight away those who would wish the other harm.

This monumental summit will be comprised of a two part session. On the first day, any and all members of the two political parties may attend. These honored guests are invited to speak about all personal thoughts and ideas about the current political landscape of the realm.

After the first session of the summit has been concluded, the second session will follow shortly there after. This session will be an exclusive event, and only those who have been formally invited by the Curonian council may attend.

The Curonic council and his lordship Count Wilhelm Devereux extend their highest regards to all members of the two parties mentioned above and hope all invited guests honor us with their attendance at this most grandiose occasion.
