Bale grew up in a highlander farm with a humble family that received him from a wanderer. This wanderer was a friend of a fallen warrior (a warrior of the Norland kingdom which fell to the Orenian kingdom) who was father to Bale, so Bale is connected to the Norland kingdom but wasn't aware until later in his life. The family on the farm were very loving and raised him under the red faith but when Bale reached nine years, his adoptive parents were ambushed and murdered in a raid between Renatus and Courland. Bale fled his home, carrying this tragedy in his heart. He survived on his own for a few months, he had basic hunting and fishing skills adopted from his highlander background. One day, he met with a wise mage named Caesar Curseus (in a woods adjacent to the dominion) and he became his mentor until he reached eighteen. Caesar educated Bale on the history of Lore and of humanity, Bale would then learn of his family roots. Caesar also taught him about the magic folk and their customs. Under the guidance of Caesar, Bale trained to fight like a warrior with a sword and because of this he grew to be a very skilled swordsman. Bale still has a lot to learn and has a drive to explore the world of Lore and continue to learn about his real parents. Despite Bale having a troubled past, he does have a calm demeanour and is often perceived as reserved. This is because he tends to observe before taking action.
