Ive was born and raised by her mom. Young and innocent, she never knew what was wrong in life; such as how her mom was (as she put it) ‘raised’ by Strigas. Ive thought it was normal for humans to be raised by Strigas, given that everyone in town was. But little did she know that her mother was actually a Strigas slave. Ive watched as her mom slaved away day after day. After 8 years of growing up like this, she got used to being a slave. Her mother Ida also seemed to be away from the house more. Ive knew her mother went to “pray to one of the gods” as her mother called it. One day, Ida rushed in, with a worried look on her face. She had been followed as she prayed to the wolf god. In a rush, they packed only a little and they left. Suddenly, they heard the squeak of a Striga. Terrified, they ran into a nearby forest and Ida got Ive to hide in the hole of a tree. Once Ive was in, Ida quickly gathered some nearby leaves and concealed the hole. “Ive, baby, please go and find a normal life, away from this village.” Ida said. “Change your name and never tell anyone I was your mother. And do not…” Suddenly she was interrupted by the squeak of a Striga. “Do not say you come from a place with Strigas. Goodbye.” And with that, Ida stepped away from the tree, when suddenly a Striga ambushed her and dragged her away. Watching from the tree, Ive was terrified and developed a hatred for the Strigas, but knew she could not do anything for the moment so stayed hidden. She remained hidden until dawn, then slowly stepped out from the tree, and observed the location her mother has been ambushed. A long time passed, until Ive noticed something shiny lying on the ground. She picked it up and realised it was her mother’s necklace. It had a silver full moon with a golden wolf looking up at it with orange eyes. She hugged the necklace close to her chest and prayed to the wolf god that her mother was safe.Ive knew she could not go back to the village, as that would mean her mother’s actions were for nothing, so she set out to make a new life for herself, knowing it would make her mother happy. She had a small bag of belongings to remind her of her mother, containing a knife, a book and a pen, she decided she would pray to the wolf god every day and decided to change her name to ‘I’. On her adventures, she met many different people, however the one she spent the most time with was a cat named Mel. 8 years after these events, Ive and Mel snuck onto a boat heading to Rivia Atlas.
